Hated everything about this site.
Dirty toilets. Rude staff. Very badly run. Joke of a dog walk.
Don't bother about storage because they were supposed to operating a waiting list. I was overlooked. Kept saying there was none even though new spaces were available and had been allocated.
Children's area very poor.
Pitches not very well looked after

Well kept grounds and toilet block/shower very clean, nothing on the site but belford village 10mins walk. My only disappointment is the £3:50 per night they charge for porch awning. Not one I'll be rushing back too

Lovely site, near the coast and Holy Island/Bamborough.
Well kept with lovely children, s playground. No shop but not far from Farm shop.
But, this is the most expensive site we have stayed on for a tent. Children are £4 extra, each child, per night. So works out expensive weekend with the family, especially Bank holiday

We have just returned from a wonderful week at South Meadows. It is a very well maintained site - clean, tidy, grass well cut (and the risings are removed when cut so not trailing cut grass into the caravan!) and friendly reception staff.
We had a super pitch inside the barrier. The pitch was so level, all that was needed was to drop the jockey wheel and legs and unpack straight away.
The Wi-Fi worked very well, however you have to remember to log out of it when not using it or it will very quickly use your quota (as we found out!) The price for more Wi-Fi we thought was excessive (we paid £13. 50 for 2gb through PayPal) but if used cautiously is valid for 30 days. On arrival you are issued with a complimentary voucher for 1gb. We have stayed at other sites where you buy unlimited Wi-Fi for a specific number of days and that seems to work much better.
The site is a perfect base for exploring the local area. It is mid way between Alnwick and Berwick-upon-Tweed. Just a few miles away are Lindisfarne and Bamburgh.
Sunnyhills Farm Shop just along the road is a 'must visit'. Wonderful fresh cooked food, and the ice cream sundaes are to die for! They also have milk, bacon and the basics but if more shopping is neede, there is a Co-op in the village of Belford.
Disabled access in the area is generally very good. I have a mobility scooter and didn't experience many problems at all.
All in all, we had a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend this site to others.

We spent 9 days here and had a mixed experience.
The site was pristine with well maintained grass areas and thoughtful planting of hedges and shrubs. The staff were universally friendly, cheerful and helpful. There is a large static element to the site as well as many seasonal pitches that looked as though they were permanently located. It is very well located for exploration of Northumberland and very convenient for a trip to Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands.
The area of the site for tourers was shared with tents and was outside the security barrier of the main site. The serviced pitches were of excellent quality and level. The facilities were spotless and fairly well maintained. A Co-op store provided just about everything we needed and was only a short drive away in the village. We had a very average meal in the dog-friendly Bluebell Hotel but did not try the other local pubs. The fish and chip shop was popular with local variants such as Haggis and chips (closed Sunday and Mondays). The Sunnyhill Farm shop lost our custom for meals since it rained on the occasions we might have used it and would not allow dogs inside.
The Wi-Fi was of adequate speed and reliable although for some odd reason it would not always let me connect until mid-morning.
As mentioned by others, the dog walk was spoiled by the addition of sharp edged gravel to all the paths leading into the woods. Although the paths eventually turned into natural surfaces our old dog has a long-standing paw injury and could not walk comfortably on the gravel, even with a 'Pawz' rubber boot on. If they had used wood chips, as on the children's play area, it would have been an excellent facility.
Over the weekend the site became very full and children were allowed to play ball games and ride bikes/scooters in front of the caravans without any obvious adult supervision or input. We might have felt guilty exercising the dogs on the large field alongside the site/play area if the children had actually used it. However, they rarely ventured onto the field itself. Worse still, on 2 consecutive evenings I found children, including a young girl, unsupervised in the men's toilet/shower area at about 23. 00.
If the owners had positioned the tented area in a separate area of the site to the caravans I am sure both parties would have had a much better experience since the tented population seemed to be the source of the majority of youngsters. Fortunately by Monday evening peace and tranquillity had returned.
For those storing their vans on site the quad bike driver was busy every day removing and positioning vans as owners came and left. The storage looked very secure.
In summary an excellent site for those with children and also for caravanners if you like/have children or visit midweek and avoid the weekends and holidays.

Stayed here 10th April 2015 for 2 nights and had a lovely time! We were on pitch 4 on field 1 which was close to the toilet and shower block and right next to the play area. The toilet and shower block where lovely, modern and clean, as where the family shower rooms which had 2 separate shower cubicles, both with power showers, a toilet and space to get changed/dried. There is a lovely farm shop just a 4 min walk called sunnyhill farm shop, we didn't have any meals here however we did have some of the best ice cream we have tasted! We had a day out in seahouses which was only a 15-20 min drive and had some lovely fish and chips from lewis'. All in all I would strongly recommend visiting this site, and I will definitely be returning in the near future.

Fantastic site!
We absolutely loved our stay in South Meadows and would definitely choose this site again if we ever return to the area.
We stayed with friends and were lucky enough to get two pitches together. They are probably the biggest pitches we've ever had, with enough space between us for an extra caravan if necessary!
The site was pretty full with lots of comings and goings but always had a lovely family-friendly feel to it and was quiet at night. The play area and field is fantastic and our children loved making new friends there. Toilets are spotless and modern and the whole site was always clean and well maintained throughout our two week stay. The local farm shop is fabulous, with some of the best meat/barbecue food we've ever had.
The only negative to the site is the lack of a basic shop. Not a major issue but I do like popping into a site shop for basics and newspapers.
However, we would highly recommend this site to anybody looking to stay in this part of Northumberland.

We have been to this site before and have always enjoyed our stay. The facilities are clean and modern. Off season its nice and quiet and likewise different when the children are on their school holidays. I like Belford and the surrounding area with Bamburgh, Seahouses and further a field Berwick upon Tweed, plenty of walking tracks etc.

Great site, really big pitches, all seemed to be level and grass well mown. Water points close by. Two big fields when you enter the site for tourers and tents. We were here on a weekend in the summer holidays and there were a few, although not many, empty pitches, with it being slightly quieter in the week.
Site is really quiet at night despite being busy. Although only two minutes drive from the A1 the traffic noise is very low. There is a farm/industrial site directly opposite the site but this was quiet at the weekend and at nights and although noisier on weekdays not to the extent that it bothered us.
There are two big fields for flying kites, playing football etc, plus a good play area. Also a woodland area to walk through. Toilets and showers were clean and never had to queue, really useful to have family showers as well. Cubicles were large, showers fairly powerful and no extra charge, although some are push button. Only one toilet/shower block which is centrally positioned on the site so a bit of a walk, especially at night!
Only vending machines on the site, no shop but we didn't need to us them anyway as there is a Co-op in Belford which is five minutes in the car. Belford can easily be walked to, there is a farm shop next door which does lovely breakfasts. Also a small play area in the village and a really good and reasonably priced fish and chip shop that was recommended to us by several people.
Site is 10-15 minutes drive from the coast, we visited Bamburgh and Newton beaches which are beautiful and not very busy.
Site is the most expensive we've stayed on but it was worth it.

Still at this site at the moment and cannot praise it enough. I agree it is not the cheapest, but I appreciate I am here during the school holidays. The showers are huge and always clean. My little boy loves the play park and the grounds are beautiful. If I was to have a gripe, the laundry machines are expensive and as we have a small baby I cannot avoid using them.
Other than that - well recommended.
We will be back!
