Having arrived at the site we were disappointed to be sited near the road which turned out to be rather noisy and not ideal. We were told that they were trying to locate all short stay visitors to this area of the site, whereby we felt penalised for only staying three nights.
The facilities were very clean and well presented.
The dog walk area was very short and with tree branches being overgrown not ideal.
The village of Bellingham was very nice, also the surrounding area beautiful.

After three weeks of great sites on our tour round holiday we were a little disappointed with this site. The assistant warden at check in was not at all welcoming and looked as if she was fed up with campers checking in although her partner was helpful in showing us a pitch.
The site was full and we found the constant stream of people walking on the stones at the side of our van very noisy at night.
The showers were press button and I lost count of the times I had to press to get a short shower, very frustrating. Also the shower block only had three showers for over 60 units so queuing was normal. Shower block closed at 10.30 until 12, sometimes later, my husband tried to go at 12.40 and they were still blocked off, rather early to close when people had to return quite a few times to get into a shower.
Lots of midges on the site, not the fault of the club naturally. Would not use this site again. Shame as the area is lovely.

A lovely well kept site. Flat pitches with immaculate shower blocks and facilities. The staff are always ready with a smile and a pleasant word. Ideally located for exploring Kielder and Hadrians Wall country.
The village and all amenities are a short walk and the Co-op stays open until late. The local bus will stop on request outside the site and Hexham can be reached directly. Good places to eat close by. Me and my blue haired gal keep going back because we are so well looked after!

Stayed at the end of the Spring Bank Holiday Week with great weather. The facilities were always clean, exceptionally so, even though the site was full. The individual wash cubicles and baby change great when you have little ones. There have been some improvements to the play area too. Don't know if site has had issue with inconsiderate parking of extra vehicles but need to park in village, car park can't be used.

Visited during the school holiday/bank holiday- May/June. The site was absolutely full, and more crowded than other sites we have visited. This had an impact on the toilet blocks, with only 6 showers between 60+ pitches there were often queues. The floors were always soaking wet and some of those little grid things you can stand on would be useful.
If you are considering booking a Pod its worth knowing that these are situated right beside the children's playground, so not exactly peaceful. They are pretty small too and close together, probably great if there is a group of you going, but not much privacy otherwise. There were lots of dogs. We had one with us, and so did nearly everyone else, some people had 3 or 4. This was not an issue for us but its worth knowing if you or you kids don't like them.
To be honest we did not find the Franchisees particularly helpful. Checking in was a muddled affair, staff seemingly not knowing what to do and it took ages. Also we decided to leave on the Friday evening although we had booked our pitch until the Saturday.
They also charge 50p to freeze an ice pack for your coolbox, I have not encountered a charge for this before at other sites visited. .
The location is fantastic, Bellingham village shops can supply all your needs, the bakers is especially good and if you are desperate for a chinese, the one there is excellent- a little pricey but huge portions. Kielder water is beautiful and the north east coast is well worth a visit, especially Druridge bay.

We just had 3 nights at this site and my 3 kids (ages 12,10 & 8) loved it. It is a very pretty site, facilities all very clean and the staff are the nicest and friendliest I have come across yet, (nothing was a problem even considering it was bank holiday weekend and they were rushed off their feet).
The only problem we had was our hook up wire wasn't long enough to reach the socket, but they lent us an extension (had to pay £25 deposit but got it back).
There's a little park and handy basic shop. Definitely will go back.

The pitch was nice and flat. Be advised however the pitches closest to the road can be quite noisy. We both sleep very well so this wasn't a problem for us but I guess this may be an issue for some. The traffic was still going past in the night and sounded like a train was bearing down on the tent! This wouldn't put me off staying again though.
We are non-members so it was very expensive for us (approx £27 per night - 2 adults, 2 dogs). The pitch was very spacious which was nice and the surroundings we're really lovely. The staff were really helpful and friendly too.
The barrier and facilities were all security controlled which was great. The washing up area / toilets / showers were exceptionally clean, nice and warm with lots of hot water. The dog walk on site was very short but we found you can walk into the town along the river which the dogs loved.
Definitely recommended (especially if you're a club member).

Very friendly welcome, both the owners and the assistants went out of their way to help. We were given a choice of any pitch available. We asked for one away from the road and were shown an excellent, large level pitch in the corner.
The site is very clean and tidy. The toilet Block was immaculately clean, the water was always hot. The only slightly negative points are that there were only 2 water or waste points on the site and the elsan was in the toilet block which was off the main part of the site and quite a distance from some of the pitches. My poor little trolley was very hard to pull on the loose gravel site road.
A very good point was the provision of a single toilet and was basin for use when the main toilet was closed.
Bellingham was a nice little village with better shops than expected. Having heard may times about the great beauty of Kielder I must say that as geriatrics unable to mountain bike or walk the 27 miles around the shore we were very disappointed. The shore of the reservoir was like a lot of others, just bigger but mostly the views were conifer after conifer after even more conifer.

Just returned from a week's stay at this site and and all in all, had a fantastic time. We're a family of 3 tents and luckily, we all got pitched together, even though the site was totally full. We had 3 lovely pitches which got the sun all day (& evening) long - we were soooo lucky with the weather.
We only actually had 1 bad day with the weather and on this day, we went to the Riverdale Hall Hotel, about a 10-15min stroll along the road and, it's dog friendly. While there, we paid £4 for an adult & £2 for a child to swim - the water temperature was 82C and we had the whole pool to ourselves, it was heaven on a not too nice day. We didn't eat there as they'd finished serving lunch but if you do, you can swim for free.
I strongly recommend the walk to Hareshaw Linn, which is absolutely stunning and also, the Kielder Organic Meat Farm Shop just along the road. We had the bacon, sausage and eggs for breakfast and then the gorgeous burgers, fillet steak, sirloin steak and lamb chops for the BBQ - we even went back for more stuff to take home with us it was so nice. And the man who works
The farm shop is absolutely lovely.
Bellingham itself, is a lovely little village - you can take a lovely stroll along the river, the kids and dog loved swimming in it and, between the Co-Op and the Village Bakers, we got everything we needed (the pea, mince and onion pies in the bakers are gorgeous!).
Okay. Now the site itself. The whole site is absolutely spotless and the toilets are some of the cleanest I've ever seen on a campsite. Mind you, they're closed between 10. 30am & 12. 15pm every day so they should be. I can't understand why they close the ladies & gents at the same time though. There's only 1 small other toilet so that means everyone on the campsite has to queue for that one. Why can't they close/clean the ladies & gents separately and then only half the campsite has to queue for the other one at any one time??
Carole, the owner, is extremely strict and by the end of the week, we dreaded her walking around. We felt we were constantly being told 'do this, don't do that, move this, move that'. After a week, it started to become a real pain. We're really considerate and happy campers and as long as we know the rules, we'll follow them absolutely but you just felt she was pick, pick, picking all the time. And that wasn't just us, other campers said exactly the same too. It got to the stage where we started putting our chairs in order of colour & size, just in case we got wrong for them looking out of order!
Bellingham & the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and we really did have a lovely week but I don't think we'll go back to this site. You feel you have to stand to attention when Carole's doing her rounds!

We visited Bellingham club site with our 2 girls aged 4&6 to test our new trailer tent. The site was a nice size and very flat {excellent for tents}.
Although we could chose our pitch the friendly warden recommended a pitch in the corner which he said was nice and sheltered and got the sun most of the day, we took his advice and he was spot on. Lucky for us as it was sunny for the full 3 days but, forgetting the sun lotion I had to buy some from the site shop and was really surprised to find it only cost £5 for Nivia! Most other things in the shop were reasonably priced too.
The girls loved the small park and was adequate for their needs, they spent most of their time there or riding their bikes around the site. The toilets and other facilities were spotless all the time, the ladies showers were a great size an could easily fit me and the two girls in altogether, the other half said his had the hottest water he's had on any site shower. The water in the dishwash area must have came straight out of a volcano it was so hot!
Bellingham village is a 2 min drive away and has enough facilities there to keep you going. The village bakery, butchers and the organic farm shop were all tried out and given a big thumbs up from all. Will be going back again soon, great little site.
