If you’re seeking peace & quiet in a wonderful countryside location then Bellingham Brownrigg is the place to be. We stayed here at the end of May with our two young children and had a wonderful time.
The shop & reception – Well stocked, everything we needed – plenty of ice creams for the kids. We placed an order for meat which was delivered to the site from the local organic farm & it’s delicious. Fresh fish delivery too! Plenty of information about local attractions & the owners were extremely helpful – very knowledgeable about the area.
The Site – Really pleased with the pitch & everywhere is just so clean & well kept. Within walking distance to Bellingham & not far from Keilder water & Hadrians Wall. On site there is a play area with swings, climbing frame & ample room to play ball. We liked the fact that the play area is enclosed meaning that our kids could play safely & have fun. Excellent! The shower & toilet block were immaculate! as were the laundry facilities. The best we have seen!
We couldn't help but notice that this place really does cater for campers of all ages. A credit to the owners Barry & Carole for cleanliness, peace. Will definitely be going back soon.

Totally agree with other reviews that this site is kept beautifully. Toilets, showers, general areas all spotless and during heavy rain thats quite an accomplishment.
Would say that site owners are maybe a little too rigid with rules. Several people needed to leave before the '7am gates unlocked' time - site owners not prepared to assist in anyway - 'rules are rules'. Don't get me wrong - very friendly owners - but felt that site is run a little like an army camp.
Bellingham is the nearest descent sized village - but don't underestimate the shops. A high class butcher, a baker and top class Co-op and several great pubs and restaurants - it really is worth visiting to stock up with provisions. There are also 2 banks, a post office, a newsagents and a hardware store - its also one of the prettiest villages in Northumberland - really worth visiting either walking or by car.
This is a great site and maybe the rigid rules keep it that way - but it it were a little more relaxed it could move on from being great to being one of the very best there is.

There is only one word which can discribe this campsite and that is Fantastic. The toilet block and washroom faclities with lovely hot showers, also good laundry and dishwahing faclities were second to none. The toilets and shower block where closed for cleaning between 10.30 am - 12 noon with other toilet faclitties made avalible durning this time. The site is well situated for visiting surrounding areas The small town of Bellingham is about a 10 minute walk from this site. The only draw back was on some of this road there were no pavements but drivers were very patient. You can go on several walks around the beautiful town of Bellingham. The campsite is run by two very friendly people and are always happy to help with. The site is very quiet as there is a no ball game rule and a noise ban between 11pm -7am. There is a small shop on site which sold a few basic products, this opened between 9.00 - 10.30am and 4.00 - 6.00 pm. Bellingham has two pubs a resturants and small suppermarket, Bakers and a newsagent On leaving this site I made reservation to stay a further week in May. I enjoyed this site so much would recommend to anyone.

A lovely little site. We only stayed a couple of days but had a great time and Fred (our dog) loved it too.
We stayed in a tent by a small stand of birch trees which was a really nice spot, the staff called it 'the Glade'
Bellingham itself is a nice little village about 5 minutes for the site. There's a hotel (name evades me) will an indoor pool free to use by anyone eating there. The surrounding villages offer proper, home cooked pub food and we found Keilder to be a good place for the bikes (and for Fred!)
All in all a great little find. Would recommend to all.

I loved this site! The gaffer couldn't have been more helpful. This was the 1st time we'd pulled a tourer and he was very patient as he showed us how to move into a pitch. The site itself was peaceful with plenty of walks nearby(10 minutes to the pub) The showers/toilets were 1st class. We will definitely be back.

We stayed for an extended weekend in the middle of October, weather wasn't brilliant bur our pitch drained well and there was no standing water. Site was quiet and the playground, while safe and secure could have benefitted from some more equipment.
Showers and toilets were well looked after and kept immaculate by the staff as was the rest of the site.
The dog walk wasn't the longest so we had to ensure that on days out the dog was well exercised, and the surrounding areas such as Kielder and the National park provided plenty of places to do this.
We really enjoyed staying there and would definitely recommend it others, and visit again ourselves

Brilliant site. No negatives at all. Peaceful and relaxing. The best showers and toilets we have used. Very spacious, clean and modern. Fenced in playpark. All pitches in a nice location. I like this idea we are now seeing where visitors are not to bring vehicles into site but use car park. Friendly staff (and people in the vicinity in general.)Walked to the Organic farm shop with the tasty burgers!(just up the road)and into the village of Bellingham. We managed ok with no pavement all the way (and that was with two young children). We look forward to returning to Brown Rigg Caravan Park.

Stayed here Friday to Sunday, well worth the long haul up the A1! I cannot fault this site in any way. Friendly welcome from site owners, shown to pitch, everything explained. Small shop in reception with basics plus lots of local info/leaflets etc. Excellent facilities, clean showers/toilet blocks, laundry room. Motor home service point useful when leaving for emptying grey water etc, Nice layout to site with plenty of space between units and smaller tents under trees so nice and private. Only takes 5 to 10 minute walk into town (road or alternative road/riverside path = part of Pennine way) where there are 3 pubs, 2 doing food, 1 of which does takeaway. There is also a small cafe next to the Tourist information office which does fish and chips on a Friday night 5 till 8 plus you can order in advance. Newsagents, chemist, craft shop, cash point etc. If you want to walk I would recommed the lovely walk up Hareshaw Linn to the waterfall, leaflets available from TIC or directions from site reception but very well waymarked from town centre anyway. Also go over to Kielder water but beware the midges, you have been warned. Overall an excellent site and area that we will definitely be going back to.

This site is everything you’d expect from a C&CC site, everything to a high standard, and all the usual facilities. The toilet blocks were very clean. This is a lovely well run site with very helpful and friendly staff. Bellingham is a short walk, but be careful as the path runs out. Bellingham is a very small market town but has everything you’d need. If your looking for real ale forget it, you’ll have to walk up to Riverdale Hall, which is just outside the village, they also accept dogs. Kielder Water is 9 miles, Hadrian’s Wall is also a short drive. The staff will give you plenty of information about the area.
