Just stayed here one night as on cycling tour and it was wet! Nice site. There was the option of pitching in a shaded area in the trees or in an open, exposed area in the centre of the site. Opted for the latter as the area in the trees seemed bit water logged and that there would be more midges.
Because it's in the centre of the site with the site roads running round it you do feel a bit on show. A few trees or bushes would help it feel cosier.
Good facilities with a door code. Though I didn't like the radio pumped through on speakers 24/7.
A good little shop on site too though the town isn't far away and had several pubs (only one does food), a Chinese and a co-op. Also a bike shop.
Probably wouldn't go back if I was in a tent. More geared towards the caravanners.

Stayed a couple of nights on this Site around Bank Holiday time.
It's well located just off the main road into Bellingham, and only a 10 minute or so walk. Facilities are kept impeccably clean with all toilets and washing up areas spotless.
A neat touch was provision of JCloth at every sink along with hand basins in the wash up area so that users could play their part too.
The children's play area looked good and was well used. Although there is only one toilet/wash up block and it could be a fair distance from the far end of Site, it was never crowded and queueing necessary.
The only criticism of the showers might be the pressure buttons which need repeated pressure but this at least means water isn't wasted.
The village has an useful range of shops, including a bakery( yoghurt & cranberry cakes recommended) & local butcher and really has everything you could ask for. There are plenty of good walks and cycle rides in the area and more than enough to do locally.
Only a couple of issues:
I) The site won't take in new arrivals until 12h30 not 12h00 as it says on the CCC website. We arrived early and had to wait until the franchisees were ready to deal with us.
Ii) Similarly, arrivals at other times had to wait till the franchisees were ready. The Reception Office isn't always open.

This was our first time on a club site and expected it to be very busy and noisy but it was the opposite! The owners were very friendly and the site was very well organised. Couples were put at one end of the site and families pitched nearer the play area, which means it is a great and peaceful site for couples but not too quiet that kids don't feel they can play and run about. There is a play area, but there didn't seem to be anywhere for them to kick a ball about as they weren't allowed to play between tents and caravans, which is great on one hand but I guess not if you have very restless and active kids!
The toilets and showers were always spotless with washing cubicles as well as showers. The shop had most things though the choice of bread was limited and bacon etc ran out quite quickly, the shop in the village is a well stocked Co-op though. The shop sold extras such as ordnance survey maps and gifts which is a great idea and meant that you didn't need to trek out to hexham before exploring the local area.
Perfect location for exploring Kielder forest, Northumberland, the borders and the north pennines. The only thing I recommend is midge repellent, they are savage! but this will be the same for any site in this area in the summer. Can't fault the site at all will definitely be back!

Visited Bellingham site again for the third year running and I can only say we were not disappointed.
Carole and Barry always go the extra mile to ensure all is well for the camper/caravaner/motorhomer.
The site is looking pristine as grass is well trimmed, pitches are well maintained and all facilities are excellent. The toilet and shower blocks have to be one of the best of any of the club sites, spotlessly clean, newly tiled, loads of hot water in the showers, even soothing background music. The shop provides all essentials and daily newspapers too. The staff are not just friendly but so helpful with all the info on local attractions, where to eat and where to visit.
The local village has a well stocked co-op, 3 pubs and hotels for drinking, dining or take away and the local scenery is spectacular.
Finally the latest addition to the facilities at bellingham is FREE wi-fi. For anyone needing to have access to the internet this is a godsend and no charge.
Thanks for a great site. See you in august for the bellingham show. Jim and Jacqui.

Very well kept site. Excellent washing/toilet facilities. Everywhere immaculate. Midges, however, were unwelcome guests and we were eaten alive. A pre-warning about this would have been have been a good idea.
We like to listen to a little music whilst on holiday, however, the wardens did not welcome it, and told us in no uncertain terms to turn it down. Even though the volume was on a very low setting, (this was a 8. 45pm) and wasn't bothering the neighbours (we asked). We had a fire pit with a mesh lid on top, in which we burned briquettes. The wardens ordered us to put it out, and stood over us to make sure we did. We felt like naughty children!
Shame really, as the camp, the village and the surrounding areas were super.

A peaceful and relaxing campsite. The site was nicely set out so you have your own spot with plenty of room (we were on a hard standing).
The TV got no reception at all and the weather was terrible, glad we had plenty of DVD's with us. When it was dry we enjoyed a lovely walk into the small but nice village, where we bought our well needed midgy spray and candle.
The rain did pour all weekend and there were a few large puddles on the grassed area of the site - I would not have enjoyed camping in a tent, although there were plent of tents and people seemed ok.
The toilet and facilities were kept spotless, a lovely clean site. The dog walking area is tiny so best walk off site. Lots to do around and about - the owners give out leflets to help with this.
A dog friendly pub in walking distance - we never tried it but think we will if we stay here again which we probably will.

We chose Bellingham site because of the location as we love Northumberland. It turned out to be a short walk to the lovely village of Bellingham, which has good shops, takeaways and pubs and a fascinating Heritage Centre. It is also close to Kielder Water and Forest and a drive away from lots of other interesting places.
The staff were welcoming and helpful and we had no trouble pitching. We were given very helpful information on the surrounding area and places of interest.
The facilities were spotless and the loos and showers were checked regularly, even last thing at night. There was also music from Radio 2 playing which was a nice touch. The pitches and site were well maintained and everything looked very clean and tidy.
TV reception was not very good but that didn't bother us unduly.
The only things we didn't like were that the tents were sometimes very close to our van and it felt a bit crowded when busy.
We really enjoyed our stay here, even though the weather wasn't brilliant but we didn't get the midges. We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the whole site. Well done to the staff. We would definitely think about a return visit.

Very friendly, helpful and well organised staff to give you a warm welcome / show you to your pitch / and even suggest how to pitch your tent for the weather.
A very well kept site with a variety of grass & hard standing pitches, as well as a few camping pods in their own area.
Unbelievably clean toilets and wash-up facilities - even at 10. 30pm on a wet Saturday night, they were still spotless.
My only fault was the push-button showers. Metered ones at 20p or even 50p a go would have made it 10/10 instead of just 9. 9/10.

Prior to our visit we phoned the site to arrange a tent pitch and ask that it accommodate our large tent and to be alongside our parents in their caravan.
We found the Site Manager, Carole, very pleasant and helpful and looked forward to our visit. On arrival we expected to check in at 12 noon but had to wait until 12. 30 when the shop opened.
Nice reception area and shop selling basics, plenty of leaflets on local attractions. Check in was quick and efficient and we were then shown to our pitch by Barry, the Site Manager who told us how to operate the barrier system to get in and out (this would be locked between 11pm and 7am).
They had decided to pitch us in the centre circle of the field behind where our parent’s caravan would go rather than side-by-side which disappointed us a little as it wasn’t a great view and we’d previously been blessed with good pitches on club sites but it seemed to be non-negotiable.
The ground was very good, certainly no need for rock pegs and great drainage. When pitched we were bombarded with flies and midges as we were for the remainder of our week long stay. Not the sites fault it’s fair to say but do be prepared and take plenty repellent.
The toilet block (which has a door code) was kept nice, clean and tidy. The ladies had 6 toilets (one of which included wash basin), a wash basin with soap and 5 additional enclosed wash basins, 3 large showers, impressed by the size but although they were always hot they were push button every 12 seconds and little pressure which wasn’t great when rinsing hair.
There was a free hairdryer and Radio 2 was playing which was a nice touch. There’s also a unisex toilet at the end of the facilities block which comes in handy when the main block is closed for cleaning.
The wash up room had a washer, dryer, sink and three sinks for washing up which were a decent size and always clean with hot water. There’s a small playground on site, a dog walk and an area housing camping pods.
The site has wifi but their own, not the Camping Club wicoms connection. Signal wasn’t great, we couldn’t recognise it unless we went right up to reception area and then you had to give a number of details to the staff for them to register you. Quite a farce so we didn’t bother with it. TV signal was ok for the 4 terrestrial channels but no freeview whatsoever. We found the Managers to be very strict and regimented despite their pleasant nature, which made us a little uneasy.
In the local area there is the village of Bellingham a short walk away (10 mins, a stroll alongside the river), there’s a decent sized co-op, a butchers, bakers, handy store, card/ gift store, Chinese takeaway and three pubs.
The Cheviot was dog friendly and we had a fab lunch there on our last day, Ploughman’s Salad, huge! There’s also two banks in the village, one with cash point and a garage. Near the garage is the car park and entrance to a walk up to Hareshaw Linn waterfall which is pleasant. About a 2. 5 mile walk.
In the opposite directions, you have a 30 minute drive to Hexham or there is a bus which stops right outside the site entrance which gets you there in about 40 mins (£5. 60 return). There’s the Riverdale Hotel a short drive from the site which serves food and during our stay they were offering non-residents to swim free in their pool with every meal purchased.
Then about 17 miles away is Kielder Castle where we did a couple of bike rides from, fantastic views around the Kielder Water and through the forest and there’s bike hire available there and also a tea room and pub. Nearer to the site but still on Kielder Water is the Leaplish entrance.
There you’ll find a Bird of Prey centre, a ferry round the waters and The Boat Inn which serves a fantastic meal. We also visited Alnwick Castle and Gardens during our stay. It’s a one hour drive and a lovely day out although a bit pricey but you can get discounted tickets at the campsite reception. Otterburn Mill is also just a short drive away and sells some nice outdoor clothing etc.
On the whole our stay was pleasant but I’m afraid to say it’s been our least favourite club site to date and we won’t be looking to return unless we were visiting the area as it was the location that made it for us.
We felt too cramped on our pitch as more people arrived and found it too regimented and although it’s not the sites fault the midges have put us off.

A well kept site with excellent and friendly staff. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless and well kept as were the bin and water/waste areas.
The site shop has all the essentials and more besides. They will also order your daily paper for you. We stayed with our two dogs and the only thing that let us down was the weather and the midges.
Also the TV reception was terrible and we noticed a lot of people had problems.
Bellingham itself is a lovely little town and I can reccomend the Cheviot Hotel and the Chinese Takeaway!
