We had stayed on this site three or four times with our tent and this was our first visit with our caravan. We contacted the site and asked if we could stay for five nights then leave our caravan unoccupied for two nights, then return for one night (my wife had to be back home to attend a couple of hospital appointments. This was no problem and for a small charge we were able to leave our caravan with the electric hook up connected, this means the food in the fridge stayed fresh.
The new owners of the site were very friendly and helpful The pitches are a good size and all have electric hook ups.
The toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and it is a nice touch that they have music playing softly.
There are recycling facilities next to the rubbish bins. One thing I particularly liked was the chemical toilet disposal point, it is under cover but on side is open so plenty of fresh air and no smells.
The town of Bellingham is a short walk away and is friendly and has a small co-op supermarket and several cafes and pubs.

We stayed on this campsite for a 10 day holiday.
The Franchisees were lovely people. They were very busy as you would expect but always had a minute to chat. They are working hard to upgrade the campsite with a new campers living room, drying room and a games room currently under construction (in those empty rooms the last reviewer mentioned)
The shower and toilet block was always clean with plenty of hot water. Showers are push button and I found a little too hot for sensitive skin/children. The dishwashing is all indoors. Washing machine was great, held loads and the dryer did the trick first time although I was given two tokens just in case!
I felt a little crowded on the green, fellow campers ignored the 6m rule and pitched up almost on top of us. I found the staff a little too lenient with this issue and noise makers and although they did try we had a number of disturbed nights.
On our first (very wet night) we ate in the Riverdale Hall Hotel. Food was excellent and we were given a free pass to use their swimming pool! Later on in our trip we also ate in the Cheviot Hotel in the Village, food good there also and I felt more comfortable in walking clothes in the bar!
The pitch was fairly free draining. Kids playground was too small for ours (9&10) although they happily made friends and dens out of twigs.
Days out at Beamish, Alnwick castle, Wallington House, Cragside House and the Roman Fort 'Housesteads'. A walk up to the waterfall, Hareshaw Lin from site is a must and the office will lend you a map. Lovely Village, nice butcher, baker and a good old co-op!
Over all a nice place, lovely people we would return but would choose a pitch more carefully.

Stayed here with family - 2 adults and 4 kids (6yrs to 14yrs)
Loved the site and location. Staff were very busy but extremely helpful. I had to wait to check in but was then given a great deal of information about site and surrounding area. We were shown different pitches and told pros and cons.
Site is flat and drains well. We experienced heavy rain and although some surrounding roads flooded the site had relatively few puddles and drained quickly once the rain stopped.
Shop is very well stocked with camping essentials at reasonable prices.
Slightly disappointed with the play area which was small and quickly filled.
A couple of buildings seem unused and site could benefit from TV/games room.
WiFi is free and slow but OK if you are just checking emails.
Would recommend a day out to Kielder forest.

Just got back from first visit to Bellingham and will certainly be returning soon. Lovely clean well kept site. Toilet block immaculate, with plenty of piping hot water. Little shop handy for forgotten bits!Nice walk into village along riverside, three pubs for replenishment before return to site!Village also has good butchers, bakers, tearooms as well as good old co-op for all your provisions.

This is a well laid out site with mainly level, hard stand pitches. Very welcoming and helpful owners and assistants. Shop stocked with essentials and the best bacon I have ever tasted. The toilet/shower room was spacious and spotlessly clean with radio 2 piped into it. Fifteen minute walk into the town where there is a Co-op and several specialist shops and cafes as well as several pubs. As a walker the area is second to none and only fifteen minutes drive to Kielder water and all the activities that has to offer. Free wi-fi but it is rather slow but then again so is the Camping and Caravanning clubs own system which you have to pay for. Excellent all round site.

Arrived a little early but co owner said he would let us through coded barrier and show us our pitch options and allow us to get pitched then go and pay etc later. Very friendly chap [Dave], and when we went to the well stocked shop/reception to pay, the warm welcome continued. Our pitch was very large and in good order and as we went a tour round later we were impressed with the layout and condition of the whole site, and the showers and toilets were kept immaculate. The only slight negative with us having a dog of a more mature age was the lack of an on site dog walk/exercise area, which means a 15 min walk towards Bellingham or, if like us jump in car and 2mins away is Jubilee park which goes down to the river and then you can go either way along river walk. Although there is a short walk at edge of site its not really enough and can get a bit muddy at times this means a 9. 5 instead of a 10/10. Visited local village which is only 20 min stroll or less than 5 mins by car and has co op, small bakers a butchers shop. Nearby[10miles] Kielder water is an absolute must place to visit, we went on a Sunday and had great time and with there being so many areas to go and park up around the lake it doesn't seem to be overcrowded, and there are loads of great places to access the water to allow dogs to cool off and have a good swim. We will definitely be returning to this site again soon.

Just spent 3 delightful days at Bellingham, it really is a gem of a sight. The wardens are friendly and unobtrusive and will go the extra mile, dogs are welcomed and and the toilets and showers are excellent. The small shop has great local bacon and eggs and a small grocery selection and ice cream which always makes me happy ! Bellingham itself is a short 15 to 20 minute walk away and on the flat both ways. We enjoyed a lovely and very large dinner at the Cheviot Hotel and enjoyed a drink in the other two pubs as well. All in all a great site and we will be back.

Stayed here in a large tent with electric hook up.
Nice friendly welcome and showed to our pitch.
Staff were helpful in helping us find hiking routes, even had a few free handouts with maps.
Very clean and warm facilities.
Not much for kids on site but spotted a little park on way into Bellingham village which is about 5 mins walk.
Will definitely be going back.

A wonderful site with the most friendly and helpful wardens/owners. On arrival we were allowed to choose our pitch, we had only just had a motor mover fitted to our new caravan and this was my first attempt to turn the van around to face the 'wrong way'. We provided half an hours entertainment to other campers and to a very patient and helpful warden!
The facilities are excellent, perfectly maintained. The surrounding area is stunning, it is Northumberland after all!
Bellingham village is a 10 min walk from the site, a small supermarket, shops, pubs, heritage centre with a super cafe.
We will be back, with our bikes next time!

AWESOME! We love this site. First visit too! Definitely coming back, maybe at Christmas. Lovely hosts and the biggest and best shower cubicles we've ever seen!
The planned activities were a winner in our eyes. Kielder Birds of Prey, hog roast (local pub) and pumpkin carving competition were excellent.
The site is very well situated for exploring a fair chunk of the North East, with Kielder, Hadrian's Wall and the Tyne Valley within easy driving distances. Not forgetting the lovely town of Bellingham on your doorstep.
The on site shop was well stocked, the best we've seen in 5 years of touring, with local produce at the forefront and every day essentials available. The site also has free wifi (well it was when we were there!).
In short, you can't go wrong with this club site. Can't wait to go back!
