Just come back from a five night stay at this site and couldn't be more relaxed. Fabulous clean site with very friendly wardens. Toilets, showers, washing up area all immaculate. The shop was quite small but stocked all the basics including some rather yummy select your own free range eggs - my 6 year old thought this was great!
We sampled the bakery in the village - big thumbs up for the sausage rolls! We took the wardens advice and did the walk up Hareshaw Linn which was stunning. Leaplish water park on the edge of Kielder has a small but perfectly formed swimming pool open to the public. We also sampled the bar at Leaplish for a nice cold beer and a bowl of chips after the circular walk around Bull Crag.
Would gladly recommend this site and you may see us again soon, only disappointment was not spotting a red squirrel!

This is a lovely small site close to the scenic village of Bellingham in Northumberland and a short drive close to Kielder Resevoir and the amenities there.
This is our second visit to this site and once again we found the welcome typical of Camping and Caravanning Club sites, warm and friendly.
The site is clean and we will continue to return to this site for weekend breaks away from the stresses of work.

Spent a week at this site and could not fault it. The toilet block is spotless, the pitch sizes are very generous and everybody is so nice and friendly. Even though the site was busy you could hear a pin drop at night which was nice. I recommend the organic farm at the side of the site and Bellingham itself is a nice 20 mins walk. We had a walk to the waterfall which can be very slippy at times, definitely not for pushchairs. Would definitely stay at this site again.

We stayed on this nice friendly site for a couple of nights, so we could visit a few Roman Forts and Hadrians Wall. This really is the friendliest site we've been on, from the staff to the campers we met. The toilet block is spotless, the grass is kept neat and tidy, there's a small swing park for the kids and although busy you could've heard a pin drop at night that was until my 6 month old Daughter piped up at 3 am. (If anyone reading this was there and heard her I apologise) While the on site shop has only basic stuff on the shelves, its only a short pleasant walk into Bellingham village itself on a quiet road, where the Co-op has everything you would need and is open late. We will deffo be back.

Just returned from 3 nights at this site. Nice sized campsite, not too big, and friendly wardens. Really nice toilet and shower blocks, the shower only had one temperature though, and stopped every 15-20 seconds presumably to save water which is a good idea in theory but makes it hard work when you have shampoo in your eyes!
Site is quite close to the road, but although you will hear the traffic it certainly didn't keep us awake.
The riverside hotel at the edge of the village (10 - 15 min walk) did nice food, real ales and was dog friendly. Bellingham is a pretty village, and is not too far by car from Kielder Water and forest, and Hadrians Wall area, and the village is situated on the doorstep of the Northumberland national park
Can recommend the organic shop next to the campsite, incredibly friendly staff and delicious sausages.
Would love to go back to this site.

Arrived on the bank holiday weekend - Saturday to a queue of caravans waiting to book in - after given the do's and don't talk we were directed to our pitch. Even though the 6 metre rule was adhered to - in my opinion I think there were a few too many units pitched as seemed a little cramped especially on the following Friday when we came back from a glorious day at Bamburgh to find 5 units pitched where 3 had been before!
Like previously said - playground ok but could do with a few more pieces of equipment but kids seemed to be entertaining themselves. Glad the 'no ball games round tents' rule was enforced. Playground opened at 9am and closed at 9pm PROMPT! -not much noise from kids after this. Toilets spotless - but then they should be when they are closed from 10. 15 to 12. 30!
Visited organic farm shop - lovely meat but pricey - that's what you get with organic and farm shop tags - £11 for 2 sirloin steaks!
A great site - the area is great for disabled people in wheelchairs - we have disabled son and Kielder Water is great for taking walks even though the Northshore is a bit bumpy as this area has only just been finished (spring 09) the rest is accessible.

Just got back from a bank holiday weekend here in our caravan and must say that the wardens were extremely cheerful and helpful.
Toilets were absolutely fantastic, really clean and even though they are closed for a long time for cleaning there is a disabled facility that can be used if necessary.
Bellingham is a nice 20 minute walk away with at least 3 pubs - enough shops (co-op open until 10:00 each night) a cafe and nice river walks.
Organic meat farm very close - had fantastic BBQ with their beefburgers and sausages and lamb chops.
Only criticism is that the playground is small - and has to double as the ball park. That said would definitely recommend as big play field / picnic area / playground (small) about 10 mins away on road into Bellingham.
A really nice quiet site.
Well worth a visit to Hexham if you want to get out and about.

This campsite is the best, the facilities are really good, the toilets really clean, the playground has two swings and a climbing frame and like everything else is really good. On site there is a little shop witch opens throughout the day, it sells lots of sweets and meat from the local farm kielder meats. The views are really nice, lots to do in bellingham with shops pubs and different things. Kieler 17 miles from belingham The owners of the campsite are nice and are really helpful, wifi is available and is really cheap, only £6 for 3 nights This campsite is a definite 10/10 and will be here in the summer

I had such high hopes of this site after reading other reviews. Great location, fantastic views and the best toilet / shower block I've ever seen. We were directed to our pitch by helpful staff and after a bit of a fault start (looked like a scene from Carry On Camping) we managed to pitch our tent (Why is it you can never remember how to put your tent up even though you've done it a hundred times before!) We were pitched in the small glade under the trees, a decision I was soon to regret! The sun came out, other holiday makers were in shorts and t-shirts basking in the glory that was probably 'the' British Summer while I put on layer after layer of insulating, thermal, clothing, sat in front of a heater and finally understood how the Eskimo's feel (I even had to put my Springers coats on them in an effort to stop both of them from crawling into my sleeping bag!) As the weekend went on the site got busier, mostly with caravans and tourers. This brought about the game of 'getting your caravan just in the right place even if it does take you the best part of the day'. The staff ran the site with polite, firm precision - and I did feel that I would be told off if I knocked a blade of grass out of place. The no ball game rule was enforced - which I was pleased about. The long closure of the toilet block for cleaning could have been shorter I thought. (10.30 - 12.15) and the shop could have been opened for longer as there seemed to be enough staff. The walk into Bellingham gave the dogs plenty of exercise and although the village is small, the Co-Op, tiny though it was, was packed to the rafters with everything you could possibly need. The butchers sold a mean serloin steak that actually looked like it had only just arrived off the cow! (YUM)cand there are plenty of pubs to rest and recuperate and prepare for the 20 min walk (or stagger) back to the site.
All in all a good weekend on a pristine site that sadly I thought catered mostly for the caravan and motor home. My only bit of advice would be for the site to take a big breath in, and out,put its feet up and relax!

Just spend two nights here. Wardens ok
The site is quite nice however the pitch we were given was very near to the road and the noise was awful, never knew just how busy the road could be. So if you book ask to be given a pitch as far from the road as possible as the other end of the site looked really nice.
We arrived really early and even so were not given the option to find our own pitch.
Only one chemical, and grey waste disposal area and these were at the other site of the site!
Toilet block nice and clean however closed for quite a long time for cleaning.
