We found the Warden and his staff to be very helpful and any problems were dealt with immediately. Toilets and showers were cleaner than some Haven sites I've stopped on, they looked like they need updating. Main Clubhouse and facilities were some 10 mins walk from the touring park, this presented no problems to ourselves or the kids. As with all Haven Sites everything is all inclusive and all the amenities were available to us. We did have a good weekend

The only reason we stay at this site is because the dogs love the beach, Haven is Haven, some are better than others, overall we never have any issues with the site. We arrived lateish on the Friday and had already been told that the warden works late on Friday to make sure people are sited, he showed a group before us to their pitch and then, because we had been before, he pointed to the area we could pitch and we could pitch were we liked as long as we were the regulation distance from other campers, which was fine by us as he was busy - I think if we had never been before he would have walked round with us. We were on none electric so were up in the top part of the 'field' on the left hand side of the lake closer to the Chalets on the other site. When we passed some of the electric pitches we could see that they had had heavy use over the summer and were in dire condition, however the non electric part was in fairly good condition although the grass was quite long in places. We found a good pitch with all grass around it (no bald patched) and although it has thrown it done that day the ground was firm and dry. So up we pitched and sat outside. We didn't use the complex at all (we have dogs), although we did drive over and visit the shop in the morning to get some bacon, we spent most of the Saturday in Mablethorpe playing on the beach with the dogs, we went to Kia's bar near Pete's fish and chips and as football was on OH asked if we could take dogs in and they said yes, now this surprised me and as such I thought I should impart the info, it may have been a one off but worth asking if you have a dog. As some have pointed out Mablethorpe is a little tired, but if you want a good beach, this is the place to go, so much better then Skeggy and to be honest Skeggy is so busy now and facelifted in within an inch of its life we don't like it. And yes the parking it so expensive you can walk down to mablethorpe from the site but if you don't fancy it you can park all day for £2, or you could park in the coop car park for free if your just nipping in. There is a car park that leads directly to the beach and this has been refurbished this year.
Having previously used the facilities at this site before I have to say that they are in need of a facelift like Thorpe Park has had, they do have a funny smell and are a bit mucky but this doesn't stop anyone having a good time, it is a trek from the site to the complex but you don't get the noise, so pro's and con's. We would return as we like the beach and we only paid £2.00 for the whole weekend anyway (special deal) so was worth every penny. I prefer Thorpe Park but that really hard to get onto unless you book well in advance we find.

This was a very enjoyable holiday, the facilities were super and clean on the main. I would recommend this to a family who are trying out camping for the first time, it eases you in gently! There is lots to see and do here and no excuse to be board! There is a seal sanctuary next door, the beech is a breath away and the views from the camp site breath taking, the only thing we found difficult was leaving, we will definitely return soon

First time at this site, not a patch on Primrose Valley. Prestige Static Caravan, enough room but not very clean. Entertainment in Falcon Bar not very good, toilets were really dirty and flies everywhere. Falcon Bar itself not very clean and had a smell about it, chairs were stained to death. Mablethorpe, not bad, but a little run down, all shops had stock outside that looked like it had been there for years, the beach was beautiful, good pub called sharkys, very clean and quite reasonable. Good shows for the kids and not badly priced. Both sets of toilets very dirty on the promenade, and stunk to high heaven. Skegness on the other hand was fab fab fab, clean, tidy good town centre and plenty to do. Mind you it cost £6.00 to park and 20p for a wee. Left bath bag full of makeup, perfume etc in the caravan, unable to get back. Cost a small fortune to replace. Will definitely not go back to this site, but will try skegness.

Got back from this site on Friday .Very disappointed with site. The toilet blocks disgusting so was showers. You needed a pair of wellies to go anywhere near toilets or pot washing area as water was all over the site.
You will need a car to go to main site as it is to far to walk If you are like me you will need a disabled key. I had to go to skegness to buy one a total of 37 miles to get one .

We stayed on this campsite for weekend and have mixed thoughts about it. The entrance not the best sign posted but on arrival were greeted by friendly staff and sited with no problems. The toilet black not too bad but not up to normal haven standards. Entertainment was good but we did drive there and back as had young children with us. Overall good though and will go back

Well what can I say, Fantastic! when we got there we went into the wrong entrance but it is only 5 mins walk from the main site.
The small toilets were a bit smelly, but they are open all night. The larger ones are fine, not a problem with them.
Ground a little uneven but we are camping after all.
The staff were very nice and could not be more friendlier. Shops on tent site as well.
The site is next to a fantastic beach and fun fair.
We loved this site, so much to do. Could not fit every thing into 3 days. My two small children loved it and we would go back anytime.

Erm, where to start! on approaching the site from the main road there is some sort of refinery to the left of the site, a real eye sore, god only knows what it's producing but it is virtually next to the site. We then entered through the main entrance which was wrong, the touring pitch is through a separate entrance and is a good mile or so from the main facilities. We were greeted by a very pleasant fellow who guided us to our pitch. Which could only be described as a farmers field. Uneven, boggy, grass about a foot high, had to hunt for the paving slab with the pitch number on to put the jockey wheel onto!. In the distance there is a large wind farm, lovely to look at, but take heed, ask yourself why there is a wind farm nearby, we got battered!. As for the facilities, there must be 200 tourers and 100 tents with one large shower block and one small one. The toilets were minging, they stunk, were dirty, no toilet paper and only one working shower out of the four was available. There is a courtesy train which runs back and to the main site, however it comes and goes when it feels like it and be prepared to fight for a seat, it also stops at 7pm, great for getting to the club, but it's a long old walk home. On a plus note, the facilities although inadequate size wise are clean and failry well maintained. The entertainment was good and varied, be prepared to get into the club for 5.30 to get a seat. Food and drink are reasonable in price, plenty for the kids to do but most of it costs money.

Just returned from this picturesque site. It was lovely coming out of the tent to watch the wind turbines turning in the distance. A lovely site, staff very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets plentiful and as clean as I would expect for constant use. (please be aware that the other Haven site - Thorpe Park - the showers shut by 7pm!)- on this site they stay open all the time. A long walk to entertainment and pools etc but worth it. Lovely indoor and outdoor pools with a couple of slides, my children did aquajets, fencing and archery which are bookable at the pool and had a great few hours. Campsite uneven in places but fine and re previous comments - there are hooks in the showers - just pick up a bag with your things in.
A long stroll to the beach over the sand dunes but a lovely beach when its not windy! The seal sanctuary opposite the site well worth a stroll to to see the seals they have rescued - you dont have to pay to see the seals.
If you have any aversion to gaming machines then this area is not for you - its full of them whereever you go! - on site and off.
Would definitely go back if we wanted to visit the area again.

Caravan at Golden Sands was a superior plus caravan, spacious living room and kitchen, small bedrooms. There was free gas and electric and a parking space next to van, the caravan was basic and not cleaned properly but just used it as a base for our holiday.
You need passes to get you into the facilities, there was amusments, shop,x2 gift shop, x2 bars, x2 swimming pools one outside and one inside, small park, basketball court, mini golf, go karts, trampolines. Bikes was also for hire and so was bed linen but we had ours already made in the caravan.
The things you got free was, the park and basketball court rest you had to pay for, not sure about swimming pool didnt go in. One of the bars is a family room where there is entertainment at night but you need plenty of money as for a pint of guiness and half a lager came to 4.35p.
Enjoyed holiday, the site not as appealing as it was in the brochure or on tv, wont be going again.
