Stayed for 4 nights for a long weekend. Nice clean site, helpful staff. Camping field at the back of the main site a bit out of the way, a good 10 minute walk to the main facilities. Toilet block clean, showers a bit small but ok. The beach looks like it is just over the hill, be warned it is not! But it is worth the walk as it is lovely. Mablethorpe, nothing special, outdated. Don't think we will return as we feel we have done it all.
Only 1 problem, on our 2nd night I was awoken by pitter patter footsteps going across our groundsheet, I kept missing it with the torch light. But the following night found out it was a hedgehog, thank god, i thought it was a rat, never knew hedgehogs could move so fast!
Also beware if you go near the end of september, there were hundreds of those winged spider things, in the morning our tent was covered in them and quite a few inside too, no good if you don't like creepy crawlies!

I wanted to see whether or not to book for a longer period at this site for 2007, so stopped for one night in September. The warden was very helpful, and showed us to our pitch and answered all our questions. No play area for the kids is a big downside, but as the site was mostly empty they just used the field! Very lumpy and tired looking pitches, but at the end of the season I expected that. Lovely clean toilets, nothing fancy but no problems with them. A very long walk to the main site. We took the car.and the clubs must be absolute chaos during the high season. Fishing pond looked good,I saw one chap pull a fish of a decent size out, but nothing else to do onsite. Gas bottles available onsite, but no shop except the ones near the club. We'll go again early or late season, as I like the area and the facilities overall are good, but they don't seem to be encouraging tourers much! Ten minute walk to the beach through the dunes, then catch the sand train, which runs all day, every 30 mins or so, to the town centre. Nice friendly site overall, no extras but no silly charges and rules either, and can be noisy at times.

Having been to many Haven sites this one really lets the side down. The pitches are un-level, only 2 of 3 female showers worked. There were no hooks in the male showers, water pipes constantly leaked. Very disappointed, however, the facilities at the main Haven complex are good if you don't mind the walk.

Having read he previous reviews, I looked forward to our visit to this site with some trepidation! All in all the previous reviews are an accurate account - the pitches are generally unlevel and the main Haven site is a good 15 minute walk away - the train was out of action when we visited. The touring area is at the back of the site with no shop, club house or play park which are all things that Haven should consider to make this site bearable. The toilets/showers were okay, but read the signs - they advise you to bring your own loo roll! The main Haven site was good but they need to make a shortcut to it, as there is nothing for kids to do on the touring site except hang around the fishing lake. Wouldn't visit again.

Scorching week 4th June for four nights really made this holiday, the meadows site though Haven, is away from the main Haven site with another separate caravan site in between so you have to go out on to main road then back in at main gates to gain access to amenities, (Which by the way are second to none). There is a little train running free of charge but does not run to any scheduled time table but seemed to be every 30mins. We waited four times and it did not turn up any of them so a 15 min walk every time. The pitches were nearly all uneven, even though I had telephoned the day before to enquire and was told they are all level, My wife said the showers in the ladies block were scolding hot, but the mens were just right and the block was very clean at all times. The site also has chemical disposal points and dish washing facilities and outdoor vending machines dotted around. The reception staff and ranger on the meadows are excellent and helpful, I think a little levelling for the pitches and a scheduled timetable for the train will improve this already good site no end

We stayed for a week at this site in fact we booked for an eighth night. I had read the reviews on here (after booking!) and had decided to go with an open mind and what a pleasant surprise. The touring facilities were spotless all day every day a team of cleaners were about all day. The water in the toilets and wash up bays was always hot but yes you did have to press the shower button constantly but you could push it several times to make it flow longer ,the pressure also decreased with the number of people using the showers. As reported in the other reviews the touring site was about a fifteen minute walk from the main hub of the entertainment but that also meant less noise on the site. The entertainment was value for money with the funstars doing the entertainment for the children and professional cabaret acts for the grown ups and with two cabaret rooms you could choose what you wanted to see. It was very very busy though and to get a seat for the children's entertainment you had to be there before 6pm which I found very early but then if you just wanted the later cabaret people often left so seats could be found. Party dancing wasn't done until around 10.30 -11pm which I thought very late for children I felt they could have done this a lot earlier . There are two fishing ponds on this site which if you have small children may be something to consider .Whilst we were there the ducks and geese eggs hatched so my children enjoyed seeing the goslings and ducklings. All in all we had a really good time with no complaints. Staff very friendly and helpful . If you do decide to go I hope you have a good time!

This was our second visit to this camp site. Although this time we were really disappointed! The second shower block had been shut down so there was only one shower block for the whole of the campsite. To keep the shower working you have to hold the button, there was nowhere or no hooks for the clothes to go, and this shower block didn't even have a hairdryer in the ladies block. On the Saturday night we decided to go to the main haven site (which is a good 10-15 min walk along the main road) only to find out that the main entertainment night had been cancelled which we were not told about. As we arrived early Friday we got to pick where we wanted our tent pitching, we picked the spot we had last time as that wasn't uneven, but most of the field is very hilly and uneven. Being very disappointed this time, I doubt we will return!

Having just read reviews I have to agree with you all! The pitch given was extremely unlevel, the guys next door to us had paid for an electric hook up but after trying for 3 days to use it found it was not working! They had to up-sticks and move their whole outfit to a working pitch. The site is not family friendly, all the facilities were a good 15 min walk down a main road, not something you want your kids doing on their own. When we did use the facilities it was spoilt by an over zealous life guard with a whistle permanently attached to his mouth. Those amusements you needed to pay for werent clearly signed, resulting in my daugther being thrown off the trampolines rather un ceremoniouy, extremely not cool for a teenager! This is not a site we will be using again, the only good point was the campsite reception staff, very friendly and helpful.

This is the worst Haven site I have camped in! There is no hard standings on site & most pitches are not level. The showering facilities are inadequate with only 3 showers in the men's toilet block for the whole camping area! The camping area is a 15 minute walk to the entertainment complex & play areas which are not even on the same site as the camping area & are 2 fields down the road separated by another campsite. You could not allow children to walk to the entertainment unsupervised as they have to walk out of the campsite along the side of a main road then cross the entrance to the campsite next door to get into the entertainment complex it is absurd!
The entertainment complex, play areas & swimming pools were all up to the usual haven standard. The campsite would be fine if you were stopping in a Haven caravan as they are all mainly sited on the main site but I was not impressed at all by the camping site.

This campsite, especially being Haven should be ashamed. What they fail to do is live up to the expectation of giving customer satisfaction. 2 shower blocks, 1 with 4 showers and 1 with 3 showers. The one with 4 showers is simply a walk in cupboard, no where to put anything, with push button shower every 10 seconds. The one with 3 showers does have a divide to put clothes & towels behind to keep dry whilst in the shower, although only 2 were working, again push every 10 seconds. ot much good for small children, whilst we were there the water was scalding. Although convenient to get to Mablethorpe, I would not recommend this site, and this is being polite!
