Great little site, only stayed 1 night but would definitely return. Friendly owner, very efficient check in and we were left to choose our pitch, one that looked right across the fields.
Facilities spotless, very modern, showers were hot and free - no problem with length of time the water runs for and it's simple enough to push the shower curtain aside to dry yourself ;-)! Also a cafe / restaurant onsite, although it was closed when we were there, I think it only opens weekends.
10 min easy walk into Masham, nice little town, couple of nice looking pubs although we didn't have chance to sample them. Co-op around the corner from the main square.
Overall, great site, highly recommend.

Thought the site was lovely, very well kept, toilet block was spotless.
However there were only three other users on the site so it was lovely and quite and lots of space.
TV reception was not very good.
The walk into Masham only took 10 mins or so and the Bay Horse pub was very pro dog (even wet ones!), the food and beer was also good.
Good long walks in the area, would recommend buying an O/S map and exploring as many of the public footpaths are not sign posted very well.
The overflow field mentioned on other reviews was across the road, and I certainly would not like to stay on that site so double check on booking.
Overall a lovely well kept site, and we will be revisiting.

15 mins walk into Masham along a flat walk with very narrow footpaths which you had to keep crossing the road to keep on. Bit awkward with 3 dogs
Market on Saturdays. Maybe 20 stalls
3 pubs for a drink. Only went in 2 .
Well looked after toilets and shower block. Very spacious and clean
No close dog walk, until you walked 10 mins to the river side which was great when you could get your dogs unleashed
Site grass was unkempt maybe not cut for 2-3 weeks in places where caravans were parked up
Manure smell from local farm which was unpleasant when the breeze was coming your way

This is a very nice campsite, the toilet block was kept clean and tidy during our stay, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The site is about 10 minutes walk from Masham along the road or you can cut through the cow field along a walking path, but it only cuts the corner off, I dont think it makes much difference if you follow the road. There are shops, pubs etc in Masham and on Saturdays a Market. Small but ok. There are pleasant walks along side the River Ure or for the more dedicated you can go Furher and wander over that part of the Dales. Lovely area, lovely site we shall be visiting again.

This site is now it my top five. It' just a mile from town and the walk is gorgeous and the town really nice.
Last friday of the month is karaoke night at 'The Bruce' and the view from their beer garden has wonderful views.
I don't know how this site could be improved. It's wonderful. I do remember suggesting that they could put some hooks by the washbasins for us blokes to hang our towels on.
Washrooms are large and clean and modern and I think the showers were free. A separate pot washing room was just as good. The reception and cafe area was very impressive and I wish I had been flushed enough to to try a breakfast or the cafe. As the site seems mostly tourers and the tent field not over large there didn't seem much strain on facilities.
Do the brewery tours - both of them.

Stayed here over bank holiday in the overflow field. Despite being full and bank holiday, the grass hadn't been cut and was about 6' high and full of thistles and manouvering our normal hatchback over the invisible humps and bumps was more than a bit worrying. To make matters worse the toilet block was appalling, no light on at night (there was strip light but no switch or means to turn it on), leaking water all over the floor and general dankness. When we arrived on the Friday the rubbish bins were even being stored in there!
Over the road on the main site was another world, the shower block was very clean and modern with nice touches such as handcream but sadly the showers themselves were cold and operated on a very short timer (like at the local swimming baths) so you spent more time switching the water on than actually showering. The cubicles were also tiny, you'd really struggle with young children, they're essentially a toilet cubicle with a shower curtain half way across, so you have to dry yourself up against a wet shower curtain and hang your clothes over the top of the door.
The location more than makes up for any failings, so we would stay here again, but a few simple changes could make this site into something really special.

Stayed for the bank holiday weekend - booked well in advance, as had previously been disappointed. We booked for an electric hookup and upon arrival were shown to our pitch. Our EHU cable would not reach the power point, so the staff helpfully provided an extension cable.
Superb site very well organised and the toilet / shower block were immaculate - nice touches such as hand cream, fresh flowers etc, the weather behaved and the site, despite having a Mini-Moke Rally staying, was all quiet by 11pm. The village of Masham is only a 20min gentle walk way, either by footpath or straight across the fields (cuts off the corner!).
All in all had a fantastic time - only one niggle - the showers were cold on both the Sunday and the Monday (Sunday morning showered at about 8ish and Monday morning about 7ish). Site would be perfect if the hot water situation could be resolved.
However will definitely be back, as long as the weather is good enough to cope with a cold shower !

Just spent the May bank holiday at this site. We had earlier telephoned for availability so were aware we would be in the Rally field over the road. All the main site facilities were available to us and these were of above average in both cleanliness and general standards, however the toilet block on the Rally field left something to be desired and spoilt what would have been a great weekend.
Having 2 young children it was not safe for them to cross the main road to use the site facilities and it is a shame the block on our field was in disrepair and rather dirty.
If some investment was made to these toilets we would be talking about a really top class site.

Stunning little site! First visited last October, we decided to make it our first camping trip of the year. I cannot recommend this site highly enough! Warm toilet/showers blocks even at 4am! We ate breakfast in the bistro on site which is the old goods building of the former station. In October we had even stayed for Sunday lunch having bought a selection of bottled beer in the town.
The site is a nice easy walk into Masham which has 2 big breweries which are worth a visit.
This is the kind of site I would go to with 'newbie' campers as they could not be unhappy with the site or facilities. We are taking some friends there at the end of June for the Beer festival in the town! We have requested a tent pitch with EHU so that we can charge cameras and such.
If you are still undecided - take a look at their own website!

A lovely site situated near the brewery town of Masham. We went there in March this year to be greeted by one of the owners personally. They were very nice and made us very welcome, we were told to park up and settle up with them the next morning. Very trusting. The site is opposite the field where the annual steam rally is held so very convenient. The site is of particular interest to railway buffs, as the name suggests it is an old railway goods yard and is situated at the end of the old line (disused)
Facilities were very nice and I couldn't say anything but good about them. Well done.
