This has to be one of the best sites I've stopped on! Flat & well drained(It needed to be last weekend) The toilet/shower block was spotless all weekend, even with the site jam packed and the weather not exactly clement. The pitch was roomy enough for a medium size tent, my wife's car, my motorbike & a barbeque with family and friends. There is plenty to do in the area with Lightwater Valley not far away, the Forbidden Corner and Middleham Castle just up the road and Masham with it's two breweries and a great cafe on the market square only a 10 minute walk away. We will definitely be back.

Just returned from visiting this site. This is a brilliant site for visiting Masham as it is only a 10 minute walk away. We visited for the beer festival and thoroughly enjoyed it as we could stagger home! The site was extremely busy and the toilet block was not as clean as it is generally. Although this was also due to people not putting their dirty paper towels in the bin provided. The site was quite muddy and saturated due to the amount of rain that had fallen in the last week. The pitches are small but relatively flat. If taking a caravan and awning, make sure you tell them as they have awning and non-awning pitches. There was no dog walk but there are good walks within 5 minutes. Try the walk by the side of the River Ure. It is on the way into Masham, just after the bridge. Dogs can play in the river but be careful of the sheep grazing. No play area for children but there is a good park in the centre of Masham. The cafe is fantastic and does breakfast, lunch and dinner. If staying here, book a trip to the Forbidden Garden at Leyburn. It is 20 minutes away. Tickets must be booked in advance but both adults and children loved it. Although some of the features can be a bit scary so minimum age is probably 3. Overall would definitely visit again and as there is a steam rally on the 21st & 22nd July in the field opposite this would be a good time.

Great site as always, friendly people who work hard to make your stay go without a hitch. The new "Tee Rooms" is more like a good restaurant. We had some great meals in there on Friday evening, and also top-notch cooked breakfasts in the mornings. The toilet block was always clean and tidy. The site was full for the weekend (22-24th June) as there was a beer festival on in Masham, just 15min easy walk up the road, great event with live music on both nights. Full selection of tents (there were 15 of us there for a motorcycle club weekend so we had a pre-booked area cordoned off for our use) also caravans, trailer-tents, folding campers and motorhomes, all mixed in together with no problems that I saw. The toilet block was usually full in the morning as the site was fully booked, but not a problem. Selection of basic food items and soft drinks for sale in the reception. Breakfasts, lunches and main meals available in the upstairs restaurant, or outside at picnic tables. The village (Masham) is 15 mins easy walk, with two breweries to visit, also 4 or 5 pubs, a fish n chip shop, a Co-op shop that was well stocked, and various other shops to visit. Site is an ideal base to explore the Yorkshire Dales, also Lightwater Valley amusement park is 10 minutes drive away.

Spent a very happy six nights at the Old Station. Facilities were of a very high standard and spotless. Masham is a ten minute stroll along a footpath. For lovers of Real Ale it is a must. Two breweries and enough pubs selling great local food and Ales. The White Bear was my favorite. If your looking too get away from it all you wont find a better place. What a little gem.

This is one of my favourite sites ever! The people are so friendly and helpful; last time we were there our neighbours kid locked the keys in the car and the family running the place bent over backwards to help, even running them to a town nearby to get a meal! The shower block is spotless and really modern. The only slight downside is the proximity of neighbours, but it's generally quieter in the week so you get more space then. Not much in the way of facilities for kids, but great walks nearby. Just thinking about sitting outside the White Bear pub with a Wensleydale and beetroot sandwich and a glass of Old Peculiar is enough to bring a tear to my eye!

Just returned from a great weekend at this site. The facilities were excellent and the owners were really helpful and friendly. The pitches were flat and we didn't need ramps at all making pitching easy. Masham village is only 10 minutes walk with great beer ,food and a park for the children. Only criticism would be the size of the pitches the smallest and closest together I have seen in quite a few years of camping and caravanning also very little area for the children to play. We will still return for another weekend as we use the site only as a base for sleeping and eating.

This was one of the best sites that we have stayed at so far. The toilet block would be worthy of a five star rating. What makes this site is all the little touches like cups in the bathroom , and the washing up tools in the pot wash area which are all free to use. We did not get to use the restaurant this time as we went on the Black Sheep Brewery tour and had a meal afterwards which was really great and I would recommend it and hopefully when we return we will use the on site restaurant. We are really looking forward to our next visit

We stayed on this site last year and enjoyed it, the facilities were great, the only thing missing was a shop on site for the odd thing like milk and eggs. They were in the process of building a reception area, so we returned this year to see how it was going and we were not disappointed. The new reception and restaurant is wonderful, we had a meal there and it was lovely and well worth it. We enjoyed it so much we are returning soon. The family that run the site are very friendly and nothing is to much bother. The walk into Masham itself only takes about 10 minutes plus the surrounding area is lovely. It is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed with friends over the August Bank holiday. Site was very busy as the overflow field was being used. The showers and toilets were very nice and the cleanest I`ve seen but very busy due to it being a Bank Holiday. The owners really worked hard to keep everything spotless, I went to the toilet at 10.30 pm in the pouring rain and they were still working hard to maintain their standards. When we arrived I noticed a smell from the nearby pig farm but I didn`t notice it for the next 3 days, I have a very ken sense of smell so I think it`s not always noticeable. The site is very nice and only a 15 min walk to Masham which is a lovely town.Owners are very friendly. A lot of work has been put into this site and it shows. We had a fantastic time but did feel that the pitched were small because we went with friends and had pitches next to one another we were ok but had we been on our own I think we would have felt uncomfatable. We will return again in the near future but it will be at a quieter time and with friends in case the pitches are as small.

Lovely site that we will definitely be returning to. The location of this site is ideal for walking into Masham (takes about 15 mins) and for visiting other surrounding villages. It's a very peaceful area and after a busy week at work is just what you need. The site was quite full when we arrived and the lady on reception led us to the camping area at the far end of the site. The main camping and caravan area is quite formal in lines however the field at the end is a horseshoe shape and no pitches are actually marked out. This means that it feels quite random where you end up. We pitched on a fairly flat bit near the bottom of the horse shoe behind the "hump" which meant we weren't under the trees. There had been some rain before we got there but the ground wasn't saturated which indicates that the drainage is good. The facilities on the site, like other reviewers have indicated, are superb. Very clean and well presented and the washing up area is also rather handy! Free showers are a bonus too and the water is lovely and hot after the first 3 seconds of freezing cold! Very good value for money, it cost us £9.00 for 2 adults and one car for one night. We will definitely be going back.
