Thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, the staff could not be nicer or more helpful. We were in the overflow across the road and on a busy weekend it was nice to see that they did not overcrowd it.
A toilet block in an overflow was a nice touch although the missus was not too happy with it. Cafe was excellent and even let us make our own menu up for the kids. Chips were made in heaven! Heavy rain on the evening revealed an awful lot of cow poops. The other use for this field sadly.
All in all we will be back but best to get on to the main site

This is an absolutely fabulous site. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It is a must that you try the breakfasts and the evening meals that are served in the cafe. Anywhere else you would pay double the price for the quality.
Will definitely be visiting it again. Also the facilities were extremely well maintained and clean.

This is a fantastic site. Owners are friendly and nothing seem to be too much trouble. They even gave us a lift in to town 1 night!
The toilets are clean and showers are hot and free. There is a lovely restaurant on site that does good food;when we were there they had a Moroccan banquet night which was authentic and tasty.
The village is only a 15 minute walk with various shops and pubs to sample the local brews. Would definitely recommend and will go back.

A really great site! Very near the lovely village, with lots of good eating places and pubs and good shops to supply meat, bread and groceries. Lovely walks by the River Ure and surrounding countryside.
Very friendly people run the site - nothing is too much trouble - also very clean and good showers and loos.
Very nice cafe on site too. A real winner!

We spent the Easter break here, and despite the weather we had a great time.
A small family run site, we were greeted by the owners who were very helpful.
The shower/toilet block was clean, and modern, and although there were only 3 showers and 3 toilets (in the ladies) there never seemed to be a queue despite the site being full.
A shop and cafe are on site and the food was very good.
The weather was wet, and this meant, being on grass we were forever swamped in mud, which was a shame,(perhaps gravel would be a good idea?)
The village of Masham is picturesque, and being just a few minutes away from the campsite, ideally situated.
We had meals in the Bay Horse(which is dog friendly),serving good home cooked food- and proper chips!
The Black Sheep brewery is well worth a visit, the tour guide was entertaining!
There is lots to see and do in the surrounding areas, its a great base for the beautiful countryside of Yorkshire.

This was our first visit to this site, and we really enjoyed it. The site owners were very friendly and helpful, as were the locals in the village. Only a short walk into the village, and there is a footpath all the way, so you don't have to dodge the traffic.
There are a good selection of pubs and eating places in the village, but if you don't fancy the walk, there is the on site cafe. The village has a good small bakery which usually closes mid afternoon. There is also a Co-op Store in the village as well as newsagents and all the usual small businesses. We found the 2 brewery visits a tad expensive. Will visit this site again, but not the breweries.

We stayed at this site for a long weekend with friends comprising six adults and one baby in a combination of two camper vans and one touring caravan. The site staff were particularly friendly and helpful and made our stay extremely enjoyable.
The toilet block is very well presented and kept very clean whilst the showers provide plenty of hot water.
One of the highlights was the on site restaurant which provided a wide range of excellent home-cooked food of restaurant quality. It also proved to be particularly popular with the locals which can only be taken as a good sign. A pleasant 10 minute walk into Masham meant we were able to abandon the car for the period of our stay and sample the local brew.
With regard to the Black Sheep brewery, we found it a bit expensive for what it was, the restaurant was more expensive and not so good as the one on the camp site and the gift shop seemd pricey selling branded goods at inflated prices. The brewery tour is okay (at £4.50 per head) if you haven't done a brewery tour before, but, to be honest, once you've seen one stainless steel vat and some pipework, you've seen them all. Still, the tour guide was entertaining and at least there's a 'free' half pint at the end of the tour.
Would definitely recommend this friendly family run campsite, especially at this time of year (November) when it provides a hearty meal in cosy surroundings and you don't have to compete with the usual coach parties of tourists that are around in the summer.

We stayed at the old station in Masham in what must of been the wettest part of august 2009. We were pitched right at the back of the campsite under the trees and although it was sheltered it didn't give the tent or the ground much chance to dry out in the brief moments of sunshine and there was continuous drips of rain and sap off the trees onto the tent. My daughter enjoyed running around but there wasn't a lot of space for her to do so. The day after we arrived however the tent next to us packed up and left so we were able to allow her to play next to the tent.
The facilities are in easy reach of everyone on the site and compromise of male and female showers and toilets and a pot wash and laundry room. The toilets were kept very clean and tidy and the showers were nice and warm morning and right. The pot wash room however was very small and it was difficult to get in at times because there was two sinks, the washing machine and tumble dryer with only a small gap in between so it was quite busy. The little shop sold a few basics and the restaurant/cafe seemed popular although we never ate there.
All in all a nice little site however was disappointed to read on the FAQ part of their website they no longer accept large tents so unfortunately we wont be visiting again.

This was my first camping trip and it was very pleasant.
Despite a very wet few weeks up until our visit when we arrived the sun was out and our pitch was extremely dry! The space we were allocated was quite central, but even when the campsite filled up (which it did considerably over the course of the day) it was still lovely and quiet.
It is not a huge site, but plenty of things going on close by and the small town of Masham is only a few minutes away.
The toilets and showers were immaculate and even when the site was full there was no queues for the facilities as there are ample for the size of the site.
The bins are also emptied extremely regularly, with staff always checking to make sure that they are emptied.
The on site cafe/restaurant was lovely. If staying on a weekend I would suggest that you book to eat out if you wanted to eat in Masham as we struggled to find anywhere. Nevertheless the on site restaurant provided us, on both nights with a superb meal. Both the food and the service was excellent and of a very high standard. It is not a licensed facility but they do allow you to take your own alcohol and they do not charge corkage.
A trip would be well worth to Jervaulx Abbey, about 7 miles away where there is a lovely circular walk starting from there.
Also the Forbidden Corner at Middleham was a fantastic day out! You must book before you arrive (you can do this online or by telephone). Definitely a worthwhile trip, I had been previously about 3 times & even this trip (my boyfriends first time there) was equally as enjoyable for us both.
I would 100% recommend the site to anyone, we had a lovely weekend and was thoroughly impressed by the site, the service and the facilities.
Perfectly situated to the main roads, but the heart of the dales is only a short drive away.
Thank you for a lovely stay.
