Have to disagree with some previous reviews. Have always loved this site for a number of reasons and have visited it many times over the years but our last visit in August has certainly put us off.
The site was so busy they shoehorned as many units on as they could, am pretty sure it contravened fire regulations our awning was practically touching the awning of the van next door.
It's a shame that greed is spoiling what is a lovely site, sadly our weekend was so bad I doubt we will visit again.

Just returned from a long weekend here.
Lovely site.
Well cared for, well run.
Lovely people running it
Small shop, lovely cafe for 'light bites'
Lovely area and access is good.
Facilities are clean and adequate - dependant on the number of folk staying!
The negatives.
Right, before I begin, I know the folk in the area have a limited time to make their money and the price was fair.
1. The pitches were too small, we have a 2 berth van, we chose not to put the awning up as there would have been no space to sit outside. I thought the guy next door was coming to talk to us through the window every time he went to his car. I have never stayed on such a small pitch. TTTTOOOOO small.
2. Washing up, the sign said - take care very hot water, it lied, moderately luke warm is what it was, this temperature was not dependant on time of day. Needed to use the van hot water to wash up.
3. Very busy road, had thought there would be walks directly off site for the dog but the nearest public footpath was down the side of this road and over on the opposite side was a stile, which did not allow for dogs to go under, into a field. Fine but there were sheep in and letting the dog run was not an option.
Would we return? Out of school holiday time, yes because there would be fewer people vying for pitches and we could choose not to be within the personal areas of others; until I retire it's not going to happen.

Booked this site as we wanted to visit Masham. We followed a route which said A65 have to say my heart was in my mouth the whole way but on the journey home we went down the A59 and it was much better. The site is just outside Masham, a 10 minute walk. There is a little shop and a café, but neither were open when we visited so unable to comment on them. The site itself is well kept and the owners are extremely helpful & friendly. My other half can't live without access to teletext, and we could not get reception but the site has aerials for you to use the owner even helped us set it up.
The pitches are very narrow we were unable to put our car next to the van, this was ok when we first arrived as the pitch next to ours was free so we parked on that. I think it would be a pain when the site is full as there is limited space to park anywhere else. There is no dog walking facilities on site, this is a pain for the early morning and late evening constitutional! The owner did explain it was due to being surrounded by fields of sheep but with two dogs I prefer sites with a little area for us to let them go first and last thing. On the whole we had a lovely break weather was not good but the area is fab and the pubs in Masham great the Bay Horse does great food and beer and the white bear and the kings head were ok. Beavers butchers on the main high street do fantastic sausages and their pork pies are also fab. All in all a fab few days

Just returned from this site after spending 3 nights for the late August bank holiday weekend.
We had a wonderful stay and were extremely impressed with this little site which has been carefully thought out and practically designed.
Shower blocks were very clean tidy and warm with plenty of piping hot water. The old Goods building has been sympathetically restored to house an amply stocked mini store which will suffice for most emergency provisions, the offices are housed here together with a very nice little Cafe which served lovely home cooked food at reasonable prices, even though I didn't get a discount for being 'Good Looking' We did use it every day!
The slight critique that I will make is the size of the pitches, which were tight to say the least, allowing no awning space if you chose to park your car next to your unit. Having said this I would return to this site in a breath. The owners and the staff are the greatest asset here, being pleasant polite and cheerful is all too rare nowadays and without exception every person involved on this site seemed happy to be there. This makes this site one of the most pleasurable stays that I have had in many years of touring. I have a bit of a fun side to my nature and this place brought it out. Well done everyone, we felt genuinely sad to leave. The location of 10 minutes walk into Masham was so convenient it added to the overall satisfaction greatly, a wonderful little town with the added benefit of having several reasonably priced Hotels and Pubs together with two Breweries (It was a Northern Lads Dream really!) We cannot wait to return and are hoping to come back soon.

Had a lovely time at a very well thought out and friendly campsite.
Easy walk to Masham with its shops and pubs and two breweries.
Fantastic breakfast at their on site cafe and even a discount on this when you are a camper.
Great shower and toilet facilities and definitely one to return to.
Ten out of ten.

Overall a great site lovely area, big warm toilet block, cafe facilities and the owners were friendly and had great local knowledge, however just a few niggles, a rotten pig poo smell came in frequent wafts, the tent pitches were very closely packed together, lots of bugs around and not enough hot water for the showers and washing up.

Just returned from a fabulous Easter weekend at Old Station Campsite at Masham. This is a brilliant little site, super clean and tidy, great showers/toilets that are kept immaculately clean and are warm. The owners do not charge the earth for peak seasons and are very fair. Lovely site rules, ie no noise after 11pm was adhered to by all guests.
Camping spaces are marked out so everything is in an orderly fashion, parking is on a hardstanding a few yards away from your tent.
There is a cafe/bistro, small shop on site but Masham is a 15 minute stroll away and has dog friendly pubs, super old worlde sweet and gift shops.
A wonderful place to stay and we would recommend this site to anyone wanting to get away for a weekend.

A nice little site with very good washroom, shower, toilet facilities. Quiet and very well manicured grass. An easy 10 minute walk into Masham and its attractions (two brewery tours and plenty of cafes / pubs / ice cream shows). A well stock small supermarket, butchers and post office in town too.
A couple of negatives - one is not the site owner's fault: hundreds upon hundreds of corn/storm flies that attached themselves to everyone and everything. The other downside was the smell from the cow manure heap I believe was situated next door to the campsite - a bit stronger that just a 'country smell'.
Only stayed one night as the site was full for the Bank Holiday weekend, we did want to extend to a second night but only got told they were full 15 minutes before the 11am departure cut off time so we had a grumpy woman standing next to our pitch with her caravan poised ready in front of us to fill our grave after we left.
Could probably do with a second water point that is more accessible for motorhomes/campervans - this one meant getting our hose out and blocking one of the roadway entrances to the pitches for about 15 minutes. The pitches were on the smallish size. If we a decided to put up our big awning then it wound not have fitted - personally I prefer more organic looking sites than regimented rows but this site served its purpose as a one night stopover/clean up/fill up spot. Good value at £20 including electric.

Great little site friendly and close to masham village,
Clean and quiet with a good toilet facility's could do with a small play area for kids, but we have 2 children and they made there own games. Will be returning. Friendly staff to explain all the things to do around the area. Easy to get to, but the pitches could be close but was 1/2 empty when we went so had no issue. Very central area and good bus routes from outside the gates with upto date time tables inside

Lovely site in masham, nice level pitches, well maintained & clean toilets very helpful site wardens
This caravan site is only a 10 minute walk into the middle of masham where there is a lovely selection of shops & a choice of pubs to visit.
The black sheep brewery is well worth a visit as well.
Looking forward to returning to this site next year when the tour de france passes through masham
