What a wonderful site. We were met by friendly helpful staff who remained that way throughout the stay. We didn't participate in the water sports but took advantage of swimming in the lake.

The showers were clean and plenty of hot water, only critism is there wasn't much room in them to keep clothes dry.

The Bar is lovely and the food was good and reasonably priced. It did stop serving food at 8.30pm so don't get caught out like we did on Friday night.

The children's play area is a bit out of the way but kept my 7 year old amused for a while and there were football goals.

The walk around the lake is ideal for dog walks.

Can't comment much on surrounding area as stayed on the site for the weekend as plenty to do when weather is nice.

Arrived around 4pm on a Friday afternoon, staff were 1st class checking in and showing us to the pitch which was massive even for my 7.5m x 4.5m tent. Toilets and showers were ok just avoid at peak times. Bit noisy if you go near the top fields but that's camping, you cant expect it to be silent at 10.01 every night.

Went into witney to go to the swimming pool but it doesnt do very much public swim times, so we went to Abingdon which is very good, 2 pools and easy to find.

The bar on the site is ok with nice view of the lakes. Needs to improve the facilities for Children as they can get a bit bored. Major Fault is the constant noise from RAF Brize norton as it is on the flight path. Will go again as it is overall well looked after and well run. 4 star rating.

I don't know where to start, other than to say what a lovely camp site!

On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful and continued this way through the whole weekend. Toilets and showers are cleaned twice a day and bins emptied every couple of hours or so. There is a small shop which sells the basics like newspapers, cakes, icecreams, milk, cans, jars and a few spare camping accessories. Also, available for take away are proper coffees and lovely pizza. There is a modern clubhouse selling food and drinks throughout the day, with a terrace and grass area (ideal for kids to play on) overlooking the lake.

This is a fairly big campsite, but you wouldn't know it as there are lots of small areas around the main facilities and lake. There is a good gap of 6m between tents.

There are also two smaller lovely lakes which can be found past the children's play area. You can swim in parts of the lake and there are small areas for paddling in. If you fancy it, you can hire a pedalo or go around the lake on a ringo (a massive rubber ring pulled along by boat).

We will definitely be back!

We stayed here in June (1 adult and 4 young children. Fantastic site. Very large field area for tents. The staff are great and knowledgeable. Very well stocked shop for those little extras that have been forgotten. On site cafe with take away facilities.

We have a large tent (Outwell Maryland XL) and it's huge size was not a problem.

One of the best sites we have visited.

Didn't have chance to visit the on-site clubhouse.

Would recommend.

We have visited this campsite for both May bank holidays, we were let down at our pre-booked campsite for the 2nd bank holiday.

Both times, facilities have been great & clean. The food in the clubhouse is nice & reasonably priced. The shop does a wonderful bacon bap, but get there early there will be a que! The shop also sells coffees, pizzas & fresh pastry/bread.

Pitches are brillant and you can almost pick your spot. Even during busy times, we had plenty of space with no specific markings. This is ideal for large groups, so you can all pitch together.

There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, although everything is a drive away. Cotswold wildlife park is worth a visit and there are some fun electric punts just down the road at the Rose Revived pub (which also does fab food!)

The staff are all very friendly and accomodating and have already recommended to others!

This was our first trip out with our caravan. We picked the site as it is near to home so not far to tow and we could go home for forgotten essentials!

On arrival we were met by very friendly and helpful staff who guided us to our pitch which was flat and easy to access. There was a tap nearby so not far to go for the water. The showers were fine on the one occasion I used them, plenty of hot water and 3 hooks on the door so managed to keep everything dry.

We had a great takeaway pizza from the shop, strangely they don't start selling them until 9pm but as it took a while to get the awning up we weren't ready to eat until late. They also sell nice bread and we heard the bacon baguettes were great but didn't get a chance to try them. We didn't use the clubhouse but it seemed very popular.

My husband and daughter (aged 11) both had a go at waterskiing on the lake. The prices were reasonable and the coach who took my daughter out was fantastic. She even got a certificate at the end.

Overall we really enjoyed our first trip and plan to go back to Hardwick Parks again.

When we arrived we were given probably the worst pitch, directly outside the shop, toilets, cleaning area, road, ect No.77. There were other free pitches and we were going to ask to move but the rain set in and it would have been to difficult to move. We camped with two children and I thought this was poor as the road ran right outside and the whole of the camp site passed us to get to the facilities all through the night, which caused problems getting them down at night.

That is my only gripe, the whole site is laid out well by insisting on a 6ft gap between each pitch allowing some privacy. The recycling bins are a great idea and you feel that your doing your bit.

We had two dogs with us and had great walks around the lake, stopping to skim stones and went for a swim with them. Would like to have tried the water sports which were reasonably priced, but once again, rain stopped play.

We tried the clubhouse on Friday evening but it lacks atmosphere, the people are friendly but there is just nothing to do, it is more like a canteen than a club house. The meals were reasonably priced but the food was not the best.

The toilet and shower block area was kept clean and tidy. The showers were lovely and hot with room to change.

On the saturday we took the dogs and children to Coggs Farm in Whitney which was about 15 mins away in the car. Great day out and lots to do.

Sunday we drove to the Black Horse which serves the best food and the menu is fantastic, highly recommend. Someone did recommend to walk as it's about 1.1/2miles away, but there is no path some of the way so not the best for children.

All in all the site is set out well, the clubhouse could do with some atmosphere, the lake is great. We would go back as there is still alot more to see and do.

Excellent site, plenty of space, arrived late on a Saturday after a last minute decision. Staff couldn't have been more helpful on the phone or on arrival. Nice flat areas, on site shop and bar with food as well.
It is a long way to the toilet block, but as I took my peddle bike this helped a lot, but the toilets and showers were clean and plentiful and showers free. Beautiful location next to the lakes with bike rides all over the place, swimming and boating on the lakes, I'll be going back for sure

My Fiancee and I arrived on Friday evening of the Bank Holiday weekend to be greeted by very friendly staff and guided by a cycling member of staff to our pitch area- a nice touch!

We were joined by another couple and our two tents were given a nice secluded spot. It appeared that around half the pitches on the site would benefit from such spots and the others in more open fields.

The toilet/shower facilities are large and although a bit of a trek to get to, you can stop off at the large and brightly coloured rank of recycling bins on your way and feel good about doing your bit for the environment.

The shop was well stocked and priced, with all those camping accessories you forget to bring with you, and masses of sweety treats to keep you going while the rain falls.

Talking of rain, we experienced much of this during our stay, and small areas of the site flooded. This included parts of the camping field and outside of the mens toilets.

The lake area is very pleasant to walk around and leads you over to the clubhouse area where we decided to eat on the Sunday night. Although the prices look cheap, the quantities are small but the beer was good and staff very friendly and chatty.

We used our car to get out and about and found the site was well positioned for trips to Whitney, Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and further afield to Stratford-upon-avon.

On foot, we walked into Standlake for Saturday evening and ate at The Black Horse, which was a fantastic place to eat; wonderful food in a most pleasant setting. On our way back to the site we felt obliged to frequent the other public house in Standlake- The Bell, for a nightcap and found it equally appealing.

I managed to get out with my OS map (Explorer 180) on the Monday morning and took a beautiful walk from Newbridge, which was only blighted by the continuing rain.

Overall Hardwick Parks is a well sized and well run site with friendly and helpful staff, space to enjoy and facilities to benefit from. It is well placed for exploring Oxfordshire and The Cotswolds and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of staying there.

Large site with spacious areas for tents as well as fields for tourers and a clutch of statics. Very friendly and helpful staff as well as a well stocked shop with good opening hours.

The site was very empty when we arrived early on the Friday afternoon and although a few more tents arrived that evening and on the Saturday evening the site was very sparsely populated. We camped on the ‘general’ field although there is also a separate field for families which seems like and excellent idea and one that more sites would do well to adopt where possible. The site can hold a lot of tents so what it would be like in the high season is anyone’s guess but for us it was lovely.

The toilet/shower facilities are really quite a walk from the main field, especially if you had to be at the far end of it and even a fair distance from the family field. There were more than sufficient facilities for us but things might be a bit more stretched in the high season given the size of the park. During our three night stay the general condition of the facilities was very good, although on a couple of occasions late in the evenings the toilets themselves were suffering a bit and could have used a good clean. Again, the site was extremely quiet and we wondered how things might cope in the summer.

The site is adjacent to a large water sports complex but we did not have time over the weekend to investigate this and I don’t think the two organisations are officially connected. We did walk down to the lake on the Sunday evening for a look and it looked lovely. We also went to the clubhouse on the Sunday evening for a drink and found the service friendly and the atmosphere relaxed, although it seemed quite small for the size of the site and we wondering how overcrowded it might get on a warm summer evening in the high season.

The site is well situated for Witney or Standlake and about forty minutes drive to Oxford. There is not much in the way of eating and drinking within walking distance, Standlake is about a thirty minute walk and there are a couple of nice pubs there. Buses into Witney and Standlake stop right outside the park and are reasonably frequent although they do finish early in the evening and don't run on Sundays.

All in all, a really nice site.
