On the plus side:-
Pitch sizes are reasonable & well spaced.
The shop was stocked, & served pain au chocolate in the mornings.
Staff are friendly.
The clubroom, (nice touch !) is comfortable, has a pool table, & offered a small but varied choice of ‘edible’ food.
On the down side:-
Although water sports are mentioned, that facility only have a couple of sea kayaks & there are severe limitations on where you can paddle them - if this was a reason for picking the Site, your teenagers will be bitterly disappointed.
The no ball games in the camping area rule, was not enforced by patrolling staff, & that required complaints to get periods of peace & quiet.
The clubroom food is mostly microwave cooked, & I did see one fish dish returned because it hadn’t cooked through properly.
Staff don’t maintain order in the clubroom, so (if you are unlucky) hordes of unsupervised kids are prone to take over the pool table area & generally misbehave in the bar area.
The kid’s ball game area is a long walk, (for small legs) from the camping area.

This is a lovely campsite with lots of open space and areas for games. The site is clean and the staff lovely, friendly and available. The shop is well stocked, and caters for children(sweets)and adults(nice coffee). The lake sports area was great fun and well organised. The toilet block, laundry area and washing up facilities were clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. Very nice club house, with drinks and food reasonably priced.
The only problem we had were with the mosquitos, by the end of the weekend all nine members of our party had been bitten, some pretty badly, but this is hardly the fault of the campsite.
However all in all we had a fantastic weekend.

Excellent site with good facilities. Pitched in the Willow Walk area and whilst busy over the bank holiday weekend, we still had lots of space. The Wardens and staff all very friendly.
The showers were good and water hot, and never had to wait despite it being a busy weekend.
Weekend rounded off with an excellent fireworks show on Sunday night.
Could probably benefit from an improved kids playground. My only issue was the attitude of the shop owner towards kids. She actually had a do's and don'ts notice !
Will return although will not be using the shop

Lovely welcoming camp site, we have been here a couple of times. Big pitches and great surroundings, especially the lake with swimming, water sports, etc. Only given 8/10 because although the shop is handy the woman running it is very rude to kids. Although my kids are very polite she seemed to be irritated by them going in to keep buying things, very odd. She managed to upset 3 of them in one day, including reducing my 3 year-old to tears while she was standing beside my wife eating an ice cream we had just bought! So beware if you have kids.

Visited this site without booking. Got a place in the middle of the field, not completely sure why. When we arrived we thought we wanted to stay for 5 up till 10 nights, so we paid on arrival for 5 nights. The weather was very good, and there were a lot of wasps, with a panicking daughter we decided to leave after 4 nights, and asked for a refund. We didn't get it because 'we don't do refunds', which stroke a little odd to us.
Facilities are clean, and there is a clubhouse on site near the little beach by the lake, where our children had a swim one afternoon.
Witney is a nice place with every shop you could want or need during your holiday.

We only stayed for one night as we did not enjoy the stay. It was more of an endurance than a pleasure. We were placed at the top of 'Top field' which I would not recommend since it is next to the road but that was preferable to the techno music blaring out all day from the multiple family group next to us. The rules of the camp seem to be flouted by a lot of the guests. It would have been nice if the campsite was sectioned off more because being in a large full field, it felt like a shanty town. For such a large and full campsite, it is a shame that they could not find the money for another shower/toilet block. There were enough showers and toilets available and it did seem generally clean although dated but generally we drove to the toilets either on our way in or out of the campsite since it was a bit of a walk. The staff were very friendly (if not a bit defensive on the phone about their campsite) and I would highly rate their customer service.

This was our third visit to Hardwick, and yet again we have had a fantastic relaxing time. Very friendly staff and all facilities were again up to a very good standard, one massive improvement is the on site shop [under new ownership], all shelves are full with a wide variety of provisions and they do hot drinks and food so next time we go we won't need to be so self sufficient as, along with the shop there is also the club house where you can eat in or take out. We love this site because of the lakes which are a five minute walk away, with signs to direct you to the safe swimming areas both for us humans and areas available for dogs. Will definitely be returning, hopefully later this year.

We've just had a fantastic week here (the fact the weather has been glorious helped).
We'd been to the site a couple of years ago with our caravan but this time we were in a tent. We were taken to a huuuuuge pitch - nice & flat, on the outside & sheltered by hedges on one side - just as we'd asked for on the site's online booking form.
The site is well kept, well laid out, wardens are friendly & the best bit (for us) is the walk around the lake. There's a small shop on-site that also serves breakfast rolls & pizzas (although a little expensive) and a clubhouse (that we didn't use) with a play area. The location is stunning. Oh, and the pair of tame ducks that wander around are quite cute too :)
Witney is just down the road with a Sainsburys, Lidl & good selection of shops in the centre and it still manages to keep it's small market town feel.
We've had days out in Bourton on the Water (lovely place), Stow on the Wold & Wychwood Forest. We'd like to have gone to Blenheim Palace but at £12 per adult & £6. 30 for a child just for access to the grounds & gardens we felt it was a bit expensive.
All in all we've had a great week & we'll definitely go back again.

Just returned from an impromptu visit to Hardwick Park. We chose this site as it's less than 45 mins from home and we were expecting good weather which we got.
This is a large site with tourers, tents and statics. Facilities were always clean what ever of time of day visited.
There were plenty of showers, toilets and washing up sinks and never had to wait even though the site was busy with half term holidays.
We had a Sunday roast in the club house which was very good for value and massive portions.
The reception team were very attentive and showed is to our pitch. I would like to see more marked out pitches as when we returned Saturday our new neighbours were certainly not 6 meters away the decides to BBQ basically by our tent.
For a large site there was no noise after 23:00 though the club house was noisy Friday and Saturday night but people are on holiday so I'm not complaining about them having fun. But as I said our field was deadly quiet from 23:00.
It's a nice to have water sports lake with all sorts of activities (we didn't partake but maybe when the children are old enough this will be different). The marked off swimming area was nice so the children and myself went for a paddle a few times.
The onside shop appeared to be well stocked with the odds and sods you need/forget.
And also the 16:00 check out for non EHU was a nice touch and meant it felt like a longer break.

We have stayed 3 times at the site. It is a large site with activities centre and a lake the children can play in. Close (driving) to some good pubs for dinner etc.
We stayed as a group - and struggled with the maximum 4 families rule as there were 5 families.
Toilets/ showers - ok if you are in the field closet, but there are 4 large fields for one large toilet/ shower block so it could get incedibly busy at times. Facilities a bit dated & cleaned, but not compeltely as a lot of spiders overhead! Could do with a family room/ bath for little ones/ able to get both parents in to help.
Overall site is ok for us as we are local (within an hour) but I wouldn't drive a long way to visit.
