Great place. Easy to find, local to Witney which has free parking in the town. Ample shops for the browser and spenders.
Site is well laid out, but I could not fathom out the pitches located near the clubhouse. They seemed to be all over the place and close to each other. The top field however is well spread out and large enough to take unit car and awning with extra space. Toilet well maintained and kept clean as physically possible throughout the day, showers were constantly hot and clean in appearance. Shop was basic but had ample for kids and bits and pieces, but Whitney is so close to fill your basket up for your stay. Club house lacks charm and personality but serves food and drink and that's what its designed for with on site toilets. Patio area to one side which partly overlooks the lake and nice setting. Playground is good addition and takes care of the kids for a couple of minutes. Walks around site are nice and relaxing, especially around the lake. Swimming area is great fun and appears safe.
I would personally return to this site. I am not a water sports person, but could get into it when my kids get older. A great place to visit very friendly staff who take some time out to talk and talk somemore. Appeared very quiet at night after 9pm, so good place to relax. I have only a few constructive negative points which are to help this site become absolutely great in my opinion.
Improve stock within the shop. This will increase site profits and keep people on site to shop.
Prices within the clubhouse for food is expensive for quantity and quality of food, and could be improved upon. 4 meals £28 quid when compared to Frank and Bennies 4 meals £23.
Access to the lake in the swimming areas could be improved upon to allow for people with injuries or disabilities. I found getting in and out with a hip replacement a little uncomfortable and some effort in this area, could attract even more people to stay and use the lake.
Other than these points a brill site. Go and see for yourself.

Just finishing another great stay at this fab campsite.
Last 2 visits were with a trailer tent but having upgraded to a caravan had no issues about returning here for our first caravan test run.
All staff really friendly helping us to our pitch and try and sort out putting up the awning for the first time.
Shop is a bit expensive but there is a post office/newsagents in the village. Also Witney town is only 15 minutes by car and full of shops and supermarkets.
Toilets and showers very clean and have extra cleaning on busy weekends.
Pitches are very spacious and not on top of each other. Plenty of space for outfit, awning and car.
Did not use the club, play area or water sports but lots of others have and they are all very clean and well kept.
Have booked to return for Aug bank holiday.
A great place for adults, couples or families.

This is my third visit to Hardwick Parks Aug '10, Sept '10 and April '11. At £15.50 P/N for myself and 2 children on a standard pitch I feel it's good value.
Having read the last few reviews I have to say they are all pretty spot on.
The reasons I have returned are:
The staff are very friendly and patient with adults and children alike.
I feel very safe camping on my own with my youngest children day and night.
The site is large enough that you feel there is lots of space between pitches.
The site is beautiful and brimming with nature.
The lake is a boon and yes we have been swimming in it in April!
The showers and toilets have always been plentiful.
There is very little that I can say is negative about Hardwick Parks. On my first two visits I too had issues with inconsiderate neighbours and their noise at night. But like most people I put up and shut up and just gave them a few dirty looks in the morning!
I shall be back again soon.

What a fantastic site! Spent a week there in our tent. We arrived on the august bank holiday Monday so lots of people we leaving so we had a choice of pitches.
The ladies in reception were extremely helpful and had a very good knowledge of the surrounding area. The site itself is very big and well maintained with clean toilets and shower block. Onsite bar had rather strange opening hours but the shop (which serves bacon sandwiches coffee and pizza) was very well stocked and once again the people were extremly helpful.
We were very lucky with the weather and managed to make full use of the swimming area in the lake which was very clean.
The only slight downfall was on the Friday with lots of new arrivals ignoring the 11pm quite time we felt that maybe the wardens should have patrolled to see and hear what was going on. In summary this is a great site for both family's and couples alike and we will definitely be returning next year.

Visited this site for August bank hols with a group of mates from NCT. Had 6 kids with us all under the age of 3 (so tiring).
Good points about the site:
Staff very friendly and helpful.
On-site shop and restaurant\bar.
Good hot showers and plenty of toilets.
Brilliant firework display for free on the Sunday night.
Location to costwolds and with it's own lakes could just stay on site for days if wanted(and near enough to home for bank holiday trip)
Good pitch protected from winds and enough space for kids to play without disturbing other people.
Bad Points (but not really that bad):
Don't accommodate groups of 5 tents together.
Main Showers\Toilets closed for an hour at midday.
Adventure playground was for slightly older kids, although ours had a go!
Quite a few wasps about but not sure if that is the sites fault.
Bar prices quite expensive (but captive audience).
A few pots holes in the pitching areas.
Party after the fireworks went on till after midnight and was fairly loud.
All in all a brilliant weekend and good site, and if was warmer would have swam in the lake as well!

Went for the second year in a row (fourth visit). Kids (7 and 2) had a fantastic time. We survived some interesting weather and was always greeted by friendly neighbours and staff. The staff were very conscious about cars and we felt that the camp site was well supervised.
The kids enjoyed the freedom and playing in the woods (which had secret paths and very exciting!).
The shower block was always clean, the laundry area good and the ice storage fantastic.
The shop was well stocked and the staff we the friendliest I have come across!
There is good distance between the tents and even though it is a big area, we felt the kids were safe at all times. There is good water sports facilities and a great bar for a night off cooking (or rainy nights!)
Our favourite by far! See you in 2011.

Lovely campsite, staff very friendly and helpful. Camping fields very well kept. We went for a long weekend and was unsure about taking dog as some campsites we have been to say dogs welcome but not dog friendly, on moment of arriving wished we had took dog with us. Lake was lovely for kids to swim in or just to have a long walk round. Our kids had plenty of space to run around and enjoy themselves.
The only let down I would say is that the shop run out of milk, and that the toilets although very clean, it was very steamy and couldn't believe you could not open any windows so was also very smelly at certain points of the day.
We have since tried to book to go back with the dog but it has been full up, so going to book early next year.

Stayed here August bank holiday, and had a great time.
When we arrived we found all the staff to be helpful and polite, even though it was a very busy weekend for them they answered all our questions and directed us clearly to our pitch.
Very well maintained toilet and shower facilities. Clean with plenty of hot water.
Tent pitches were well spaced out considering how busy the site was. No problems with noise after 9pm.
As it was a bank holiday weekend they had a firework display which was excellent, very enjoyable, and it was free!
On site shop is well stocked and long opening hours, serves a great bacon roll.
Clubhouse on site also serves food, although we didn't eat here the food and prices seemed fine.
We took a walk around the lakes, lovely scenery, dog loved the long walks.
Overall would definitely go back to this site and would recommend.

What a lovely site, toilets and showers were lovely. Handy to have a shop on site especially if you ran out of milk
The children loved swimming in the lake and so did the adults especially as it was very hot weekend, even our 2 dogs loved going in to the water to cool down and loved the big walk round the lake
Everyone seems very friendly there and we will definitely be coming back very soon

What a fantastic site.
We went for the bank holiday weekend - managed to get four large spaces + gazebo booked only a few months beforehand. There was lots of space for the kids to run around in, a wooden playground, a shop, showers / toilets, very helpful reception and also a bar (though we only went in once to use the toilet).
The showers/toilets weren't especially clean however I think this was due to some very unclean guests as opposed to the site as they always appeared to be cleaning it. The shop was well stocked and very useful for emergencies. Lovely area to walk - woods, lakes, all beautiful. They also had fireworks over the bank holiday which were very enjoyable to watch.
We booked for this year as soon as the date was available, and will be doing so again next year.
It's a little out of the way which obviously a lot of people would prefer - it's a car journey to shops/etc.
