Just returned from another great week at Penybont.

As always, the site owners were hospitable and keen to help out with ideas for days out (it rained for 6 days)!

The toilet /shower blocks were immaculate,as usual, I don't know how this level of cleanliness is maintained given the weather, but it is!

Bala town is only a short walk from the site(15 mins) and there is at least 5 pubs and a couple of restaurants to choose from. I would, however, reccommend a visit to a pub called Brynterion which is NOT in Bala town centre but is well worth the short drive from the site (approx 5 miles)Linda, the owner is very welcoming and they have a number of outside seating areas which are lovely when its sunny.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights over the late bank holiday weekend.

Lovely little site, pitches not the largest, but didn't feel cramped. Toilet and shower block very clean and warm, but water not the hottest and showers are push button which seem to only give about 8 seconds per push.

Owners very friendly and helpful, more than willing to suggest places to visit/eat.

Easy walk into Bala, we ate at the White Lion which was very good, also there is a good pizza place, and a couple of other places to eat that looked fine but we didn't have the opportunity to try on this visit.

We were sited on the caravan part with EHU which is fairly flat, however the camping area looked as if it could provide a bit of a challenge to find a flat area. Don't think there is a children's play area on site or much open space for kids (unfortunately the weather was fairly horrible so didn't really see much of the children on site).

We will definitely visit this site again.

We have stayed at this site now on about seven or eight occasions and every time, has been a pleasure. The site is very clean and well maintained and ideal for kids.

There is a small shop which covers your basic needs but there are a couple of large shops about a five minute drive away. Toilets and showers are very clean also.

The couple who run the site are very pleasant and helpful. Last time I tried to book, they were full but the owner pulled out al the stops and somehow managed to fit me in.

If you do stay here, make sure you take the time to have a look at the wood carvings, they are brilliant. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice quiet stay.

This is a very nice site and is very easy to get to. We stayed in our 32ft motorhome and they were very helpful in accommodating us as most sites would just say no.

Staff well the owners were Very friendly.

The site we found was very clean and well presented.

The Shower /toilet blocks were very clean also.

The shop was very well stocked and was one of the best we have seen.

Could do with a swing of some sort for kids.

Will return to this site for a fact.

This is a great site - we booked to stay for three nights - some initial confusion when we checked in and a query over the price we were quoted which was different from to arrival - however to be fair they honoured the booked price.

We were originally given a pitch that was unsuitable as we couldn't reach the electric hook up - but again this was no problem they changed the location.

The facilities here are very clean and there is plenty of room between pitches so you get some privacy. The only down side is a lot of the tent area is on a slope, so you need to give some thought to how you pitch if you are a given a slot on a slop - we overcame this with a few adjustments.

Another fantastic feature is the local butcher delivers meat for your BBQ daily - its all at very cheap prices and was good quality.

Met the owners a few times and they were really nice - this is a site we will re visit - we had a great stay - if you are in this area make sure you visit Black Rock sands.

Also the Chinese take away in Bala village is worth a visit

Excellent site well managed and maintained by the owners.

Stayed 3 nights, good level pitches well stocked shop and a very useful delivery service from the local butchers was ideal for the BBQ.

A relaxed 15 minute walk via the side of the lake and we were in the town, everything from pubs, restaurants and take aways.

On site the toilet and shower facilities were immaculate with plenty of hot water.

There is plenty to do with water sports and fishing catered for, and walks to suit everyones taste.

Looking forward to visiting again.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at the Pen-Y-Bont campsite and have to say it was thoroughly enjoyable.

The site itself is well laid out and even though it was full, it was very peaceful and relaxing. The grounds are well kept with no litter or mess around.

The owners were very helpful with advice regarding places to eat out or visit etc.

Our stay was made even more enjoyable by the fantastic Bank Holiday weather. It's such a sun trap here as there was hardly any wind at all.

The town is a 15 minute walk and has numerous pubs and we can highly recommend the White Lion Hotel for food.

We wouldn't hesitate booking this site again in the future, in fact, next time we climb Snowdon this will be our base again.

First time caravan expedition, arrived around 5pm on Friday. The owner guided us to several pitches which were all equally great. Loads of space for car and awning, pitched up with electric hook up. Plenty of water taps all around. Toilets and shower were very clean. Quiet at night. Shop well stocked. A great site on the edge of bala lake. Would visit again.

Stayed here for one night in October so as to make the most of the indian summer weather in the surrounding countryside.

We were in a small tent and were allocated a pitch along the edge of the site adjacent to the wood.

This site has been considerately landscaped and pitches are well spaced out. Cars can be parked close to the pitches (along the Track) so this keeps the grounds in good condition.

The Facilities were all under one roof a short walk from any pitch, and were very good. Tidy, plenty of hot water, shower cubicles, shave cubicles etc.

Washing up facilities and laundry room also in the same spot.

The site was quite quiet so no queues.

The Owners were very helpful when we booked in and were more than happy to answer any questions, or offer help where they could.

The Road noise is apparent but only due to the lack of noise from the site, and only when the cars are really pushing it.

Its a short walk into town where there are shops and pubs etc. And its all on pavements.

There is a distinct lack of light around the tent field which is no bad thing but remember a torch for the midnight toilet trips. The Bins and Water tap are lit however.

An enjoyable stay and we will return again soon.

This is a lovely site. The staff are helpful and friendly. Beautiful surroundings, toilets and shower block spotless and the site shop is handy. I loved the grove with the carvings from the Mabinogion.

Dog friendly with a walk area by the site, couldn't get satelite t.V. Reception. Guy from the office kindly came to jump-start our camper when we had a flat battery this morning, he did it with a friendly smile as if it were no trouble at all, sorry we didn't get his name.

We will go back to Pen Y Bont again.
