A beautiful little site. Sloping but with levels cut into the slope for the generous pitches. Well kept, clean facilities with plenty of free hot water. Friendly site staff who frequently wandered around to check campers were ok in bad weather.
A lovely little shop on site, well stocked with the option to hire out firepits for £10 a stay (including a bag of logs). It's also worth mentioning that this site is quite sheltered from the wind. We had 65kph gusts during our stay and hardly felt it in our pole tent.
Will definitely be going back. A gem of a find!

Just returned after a weeks stay at this site. It is perfectly placed to visit attractions around the area.
The toilet block was spotless. Always plenty of hot water in the shower. The pitches were all a good size and very well kept. We had a fully serviced pitch. I would certainly recommend this site if you are going to Bala. The town has some good pubs and hotel bars. And if you going to have a BBQ go to the butchers in town, great selection and all very tasty. Local walks and other places to visit are all in the site shop. Wifi voucher can be purchased in the shop. £7 for seven days, I think that's reasonable. All in all a lovely site.

Lovely site within walking distance of the lake and town. We visited the first weekend of the season so the site was still quite quiet. Easy approach to the site, lovely reception with shop and helpful friendly staff. Choice of pitch - nice mountain views.
Good facilities - plenty of toilet and showers, plenty of bins and recycling. Toilet roll dispensers were a bit frustrating only rolling out one sheet at a time! Showers hot and free - no complaints there.
Would definitely return - hopefully see a bit of sunshine next time!

Even though we missed the 7pm (we encountered some problems in our unit) deadline our pitch was clearly marked on the shop window.
We visited the shop in the morning and it was well stocked, not only with groceries but with odds and sods like guy lines and spares for pipes etc.
I noticed an elderly gent having some problems with his awning and went to lend a hand, the campsite manager was already there lending a hand, so top bloke.
The site is ideally located for the lake and it's watersports. Bala is 15 mins meander away and has all the amenities that comes with a small town.
The sites amenities are great, warm showers, clean toilets, etc.

We stayed here for a two night weekend break. The site was quiet and the wardens were friendly. Although the rules say that you need to vacate by 11am we were not hurried off so we could dry the tent out to pack it.
The shower block was clean.
It was about 15 minutes walk to Bala itself where there are lots of pubs and shops. We weren't there for long enough to have a proper look around but we will be going back for a longer stay to rectify that!
We had a view of the lake from our pitch and there were plenty of picnic tables around the site.
We liked it and will return.

Just got back from a three night stay at Pen y bont campsite. What a great little site. From the minute we arrived til we left everyone at the camp were very pleasant and helpful. A great location, close to Bala lake and the town. The site is very well landscaped and excellent and clean shower blocks. Hope to return soon.

Our family group stayed here August 1st till 11th I would just like to thank all the staff who created a great atmosphere for us to have a wonderful time. The site facilities and pitches were always clean and well-kept and the location was spot on for the walks and water sports which we had hoped for. WiFi is paid for and works very well.
An extra + was that Bala itself was only a 10-minute walk away, very handy for the pubs, restaurants and shops.
We certainly recommend this site to anyone visiting the area.

This is our second visit to Pen y Bont, and we weren't disappointed by our return visit.
A fantastic location well cared for site, very close to Bala Lake and the railway plus walking distance to the town centre.
The site is well organised with good sized pitches allocated.
The shower block is clean with push button showers, changing cubicles and toilets plus a pay as you go hairdryer which takes 20p's and a plug to use for straightners or curling wand etc which is the same pay as you go.
There are also under cover pot washing facilities and a well stocked shop.
Weather was sadly very unkind to us, but we still had a fabulous visit which included kayaking on the lake and will definitely be returning one day - to try the white water rafting.

First visit this year to this site and it is even better than last year.
Site is really clean and well kept, including the toilet and shower block which also has an undercover dishwashing/preparation area with hot and cold running water and sinks.
Very close to the scenic railway that runs along Bala lake and only a 10 minute walk into town which has everything you need.
On site shop is great and the staff are very friendly.
Will be back there in a couple of weeks with the youngest daughter and her kids for a few days.

DISABLED toilet and shower with a heater and choice of other aids made this a perfect place to stay last night with my 13 year old son whom is a manual wheelchair user.
The owners suggested we take a different pitch closer to the shower block and that was not booked. This was a really appreciated call making our stay that much easier.
Toilets are clean and a great size.
The site is quite small and very smartly kept too making it perfect for us. It's a small flat walk to Bala lake but when you get there the trail is quite rough. It is possible to walk into Bala from this location too.
Will definitely revisit when we have more time.
