Having read some of the reviews of this site we decided to try it out. What a wonderful site, well located, well run and cared for and will return in the near future. Not once did we find the toilet/shower areas dirty and there was always plenty of hot water.
Our daughter also liked the idea that the site has a recycling policy for cans, bottles and paper. This will become one of our top sites, would recommend to anyone who does not require a club house or kids playing area.
The other reviews really say it all.

Nice site Very well laid out with plenty of room, Plenty of taps, and hookups Extremely clean, lovely clean toilet block, very peaceful, owners very friendly, the gates are locked at night from 11pm to 7.30am. The shop is limited to what it sells but Bala isn't to far away, could do with a kiddies playground/area, Ok for touring around but you are a distance from the coast, close to the lake, we thought it was expensive for what was on the site but saying that it was a Bank holiday, this was a last minute booking so lucky to find anywhere. Bala is a small town with limited shops somewhere to visit but not live if you know what I mean, fuel was expensive add 10p a litre to what you paid, locals not very friendly. 1 small co-op & Spar, good area for cycling, water sports and walking.

This is the second visit to this site.We spent 5 nights and had a great time. The site is well landscaped and quiet. The toilet and shower block was very clean as was the washing up area. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The on site shop was always well stocked with an option of putting meat orders in for bbq's and the option for morning papers to be ordered. There was plenty of room on the pitch for the children to play. Bala village is about a 15 minute walk with a good range of shops. There is a spar,co-op, chip shop plus too many more to mention. We would recommend this site and will be visiting again soon.

We happened upon Pen y Bont, while 3 of us were out motorcycling and rain was threatening. The owners made us very welcome and offered us space for our 3 tents and a hardstanding to park the bikes on - all for 7 pound each.
The owners couldn't have been more helpful giving us taxi numbers and shot cuts into town (pub!) etc.
Its quite a compact site with level pitches and very good, basic facilities, useful shop and a handy location for the lake and the town.
The town itself has all you need many pubs, shops, petrol station, Cafe's etc etc.
I booked to go back with my motorhome whilst I was there (look after the bikers you see as you never know what other pastimes they have!).

We stopped five nights; and choose this sight as it was within walking distance of Bala. The tent pitches are mostly on the flat and of an average size. Are only moans were, there's no dog only areas, and as we pitched next to a camper with two. Combine this with the noticeable road noise, a lie in was out of the question. These issues would deter me from returning.

A nice quiet campsite with good shower and toilet facilities in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay here - thanks to the very helpful owners. There is a well stocked shop on site and Bala's shops & restaurants are within walking distance. The showers and toilets were always clean and never too busy even though the site was quite full.
The weather wasn't too great - but it was N Wales - and that isn't down to the site!
We noticed a little bit of road noise at times - probably because the site is otherwise very quiet.
Our tent pitch was a little slopey - but again - this is N Wales and the location of the site adds to the character. We just had to think about how we pitched our fairly large tent.

We had the pleasure of staying at Pen Y Bont for just over a week.
The toilet blocks are fantastically clean as is the veg prep & wash up area, each hand basin in the toilets has its own light, mirror, shaver point and curtain to provide privacy all of which were in perfect working order.
There is a shop on site selling the basic food supplies as well as a local butcher delivering meat to order, the shop is also packed full of visitor information for the area and has a good supply of camping goods.
The camp-site itself is securely locked over night from around 11pm to 7am however pedestrian access remains 24 hours, this made us sleep a light better knowing the car was 100% safe at night.
The town of Bala itself is either a 2 min drive of a 10-15 min walk from the site, there are a couple of super markets and local shops providing all you food needs as well as a number of gift shops and a few Pubs offering meals.
There is a post office and a number of banks/cash points in Bala although cards art accepted on the camp site for payment so cash is not essential like in some other places.
We originally booked for 1 week but ended up staying a few extra days, If you are after a site that looks like a picture off a post card and are not in to getting drunk and shouting all night then this is the site for you.
We will be back at some point in the future.

I returned to this campsite this year and found it to be still excellent. The site is very well run and the owners are most helpful. The grass is kept short, with plenty of room between caravans.
The shower blocks are immaculate and the shop well stocked with all the essentials. It is excellent value for money and very quiet. It's ideal for those who wish to use the facilities on Bala Lake.
We will definitely recommend this site and no doubt we’ll be back.

A nice quiet site, with nice views of lake Bala. Owner was nice and friendly, and a nice well stocked shop. The toilet and shower block was nothing short of immaculate. Washing up area was spotless. There is a short 15 min walk into Bala, chippy ,2 supermarkets, several pubs and other small shops. During the day there was a free R.A.F display, not to mention a classic view of the welsh mountains. Overall we were well pleased and will be returning to this site.

Stayed at this site for a couple of days on the way to Barmouth. Site is clean and quiet (although one row of pitches runs along busy road - which gets quieter after 9pm). Site also has small shop, wireless internet available at £3per day. In a great location for walks to Bala Lake and Bala town 15 mins(pubs, restaurants, take-aways, Somerfields) - will definitely return here. Note: low flying jets over at regular intervals which I loved but others may not.
