Just done a spur of the moment trip to North Wales and camped here on a non electric pitch.
Great little site near some very nice places.
Campsite was nice and clean and had good facilities. Owners / staff were all very friendly and helpful and the shop was reasonably priced.
Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Spent a week at this campsite recently on a tent pitch with EHU. Was very impressed with the site. The layout was very good with lots of room between pitches. The facilities were to notch as well. Really hot showers for free
The only downside was that you had to keep pressing the button which is such a minor thing. Everything else was perfect.

We've just returned from a 2 night stay. We received a warm welcome and although early as our pitch was available we set up sooner than we'd thought. The shower and toilet block was perfectly clean at all times with plenty of hot water at all times.
The site itself was great and quiet, perfect for us with young children.
The village of Bala was around 10 minutes walk and Bala Lake Railway literally just round the corner. We were visiting the local Eisteddfod and our eldest competing and needed to be there earlier than the barrier opening times. No problem at all, the gates were being opened as a number of us were there for the same reason.
Perfect and will visit again.

Have just returned from a great Bank Holiday weekend at Pen y Bont. I have camped all my life and never have I stayed in a campsite with such a central location. The campsite is in the countryside, yet It’s only is it a short walk to the town and lake, also a great base from which to explore Snowdonia and the Berwyn mountains.
Spotless facilities and great local info from the friendly owners/staff. We enjoyed watching an abundance of wildlife on the site and listening to the owls at night. Very relaxing and will return and recommend.

We arrived at the site and were the only touring van on site initially there were lots of seasonal vans. The site is situated a 10 minute walk from Bala. We have dogs so instead of walking along the road we crossed over and went along the river slightly longer but far prettier walk and the dogs can run around to, although be careful there are sheep in the adjacent fields.
The site itself is nice, the facilities were adequate and clean, although I did not see them being cleaned while we were there this could be because it was quiet. The pitches are not level so take some levellers. There is a lot of road noise which can be heard throughout the night and there are jet planes flying over head on a regular basis so not the quietest of sites non the less a lovely site. The family who own it are very helpful and friendly.
We had a meal in the Plas yn Dre and the White Lion both were fine although I think the quality of food was slightly better in the Plas yn Dre. There is a co-op and spar in the town and a lovely butchers Roberts just by the traffic lights, we bought burgers, kebabs and pork chops all of which were fantastic.
All in all a nice site in a good location with some good pubs, butcher and baker in Bala.
I have marked down the location due to the traffic noise but would still recommend this site

Excellent site - our first visit here and it was faultless. Toilet facilities immaculate, clean at all times and even heaters in the showers. Very friendly helpful owners. Location perfect, close to lake shore and an easy walk into Bala. Will definitely be making a repeat visit. An added bonus is the Mabinogion wood sculptures - our grand daughter would have loved these inspiring imagination.

Just come back from this site, visited in the last week of August, booked over the phone turned up and great friendly welcome.
We had a hard standing pitch near the shower block, which was level and had a hook up close by. The campsite is on a couple of levels we were at the bottom and in a circle with loads of room either side of the pitch and a big centre of open grassland around us. All the pitches when walked round were large and had plenty of room about each one.
Shower block was very clean and loads of hot water, the whole site is very well kept and nice and clean everywhere. The shop is well stocked with everything you would need if not found there Bala has everything.
We stayed for two nights instead of one as the site was very well located for Bala town centre, 10 minutes walk in and great for cycling which we had come to the area to do.
Bala has loads of amenities small supermarkets, pubs/hotels which all do food, a couple of restaurants and take aways/ chip shops, and local retailers.
We will definitely return here and recommend to all you use this site for not only the location next to the lake at Bala but also for its friendly atmosphere.

We just come back from this lovely and friendly campsite, we booked for 5 days and stayint 8!. Very clean and peaceful, heaven for dog walkers. Very close, only 10 minutes walk around the lake, to Bala where you find various Pubs, Restaurants and shops.
The facilities were very clean and free showers very hot at all times.
You can order your meat for the BBQ at reception and it gets delivered by the local butcher daily,
At not additional cost and is very good quality.
You wont be disappointed with the wardens, always on hand and very friendly. We'll be going back!

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Pen y bont in Bala. We thoroughly enjoyed the perfect location for a bit of walking with two dogs with plenty of places for a swim for them. The little family run site was fantastic and the owners couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We realised when we got there that the electric hookup cable we had was a little short to fit into the tent so the owner went into their garage and came out with an extension cable for us to borrow. The toilet blocks were clean, as were the washing facilities. Just a short walk into Bala and there are plenty of pubs and a co op and spar as well as other amenities. I would totally recommend this campsite and would also return! Just make sure you have some midge repellent! (although if you don't the well stocked shop has some for sale!)

What a great site !
Warmly welcomed by the owners, lots of help and info given, we were sorted in minutes.
Site was lovely and clean, dogs loved the woods behind and all was as described.
We found one good walk then slogged down a narrow road, had a beer then came back on the little steam train.
The Lake and Bala are very nice indeed just a shame no lakeside path.
All in all a great site so would happily return.
