What a lovely clean friendly site, having stayed over the August bank holiday weekend, competing in the bala regatta sailing our Comet Trio. A very friendly, welcome awaited us, on this our first stay here, but it will not be the last. The site was full, so having stayed at another campsite last year (bank holiday) in Bala I was expecting a similar experience like the showers and toilets to be a no-go area and noisy nights, but how wrong I was. The showers / toilets were impeccable, no matter what time of day/night, no noise either, it wasn't BBQ weather, however a local butcher delivers to order. Bala town (around 1 mile) boasts pubs/shops, but we found the water sports to be outstanding, along with the site.

We have stayed at Pen-y-bont twice now and plan to go back in the next few years.
It was a very clean, very friendly site. We have an eight year old son who chose to go back there. He also enjoys the occasional fly-over by the military aircraft as well as the surroundings.
We took full advantage of the butchers ordering service and the meat was also good quality.
I am disabled (mobility) and found the level site and facilities easy to get around.

A great site ideally located just on the edge of lake Bala, within walking distance of the town centre where you have a vast choice of shops, bars, restaurant / cafes to pick from. Peter, the owner is a nice friendly man that will do whatever he can to accommodate any of your requirements.
A clean site with a toilet and shower block that is always clean and tidy, with plenty of washing and showering cubicles to pick from, on the busy w/end we were there we never had to wait to use the showers or toilets.
Well worth a visit, we'll be going back soon.

An excellent site, owners very welcoming and helpful.
Enjoyed the walks into the town.
Ideal near to the white water rafting centre.
Pitches are kept in good order and even though in the middle of the floods our pitch was useable.
Alot of people on the site but no noise in the evenings.
Lots of pamphlets and local info kept in the office/shop so plenty of ideas of where to go.
An hours drive to snowdon.

Just returned after a 3 night stay, Kate and Peter are 2 of the nicest people you could meet.
There site and facilities are a credit to them both. Plenty of lovely dog walks especially the one along the canal into town, 15 minute walk into Bala, Lake Bala is just around the corner from site.
Definatly recommend this site for a quiet ralaxing time, although if you have children there is no play area.
Will be going back later in the summer.
We even had a super pitch at no extra charge, apparantly a 1st come 1st served basis, but to be on this site anywhere is so beautifull.

This is beautiful site. It is a short walk from Bala lake, and about 10 minutes walk from the town. There is a nice pizza restaurant there, worth a visit. The staff on siteare very friendly and helpful. The pitches are a good size and are well marked out. The site shop is great, and stocks all you need. The BBQ meat ordering service is excellent! The toilets and showers were clean and had plenty of hot water. The site was full when we were there, although it didn't feel cramped at all. No children's play area, but that was not a problem, as there was space to run around! Dish~washing sinks were also good. Will go back next year.

This is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on.
The facilities are excellent and the owners Cate and Peter could not be more helpful. Little touches like the opportunity to order BBQ meat from an excellent local butcher direct from the site shop all add to a great experience.
The site has a really friendly atmosphere and the landscaping gives the site a feeling of space which enhances the peace and quiet.
Go and try this little gem and see for yourself.

Despite wet and windy weather we really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. Only 15 min walk into town, and 3 min. From Bala lake. It's clean, tidy and quiet. Great shower block with hot free showers, well stocked and reasonably priced shop. Meat from the local butchers, and papers can be ordered. Recycling and rubbish well managed. Most of all. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Will definitely be back!

Stayed on this Campsite for 3 nights. Yes the campsite is hilly but we didn't have any trouble in our tent. The toilet block was brilliant - free hot showers and 20p to use a hairdryer. I didn't hear much road noise and dogs were no trouble while we stayed.
It is a beautiful park and not too big so you have a real feel of being part of a community. The owners are very friendly and nothing is too much bother - everything you need is sold in the shop and there is other stuff that they get in to order. We stayed at the height of the season and it did not feel at all packed even though it was full (and there were people on the cancellation list!).
As for price it was cheaper than other sites in Snowdonia that we had researched (that had good reviews) - our 4 man tent was £13 per night.
It was so good we are planning our next trip! Highly Commended.

Just came back from our visit to this campsite, and really enjoyed our stay! Owners are very friendly, and know a lot about the surrounding area. They’ve given us great advice on what to visit during our stay. What helped is that Bala lies close to most of the attractions, giving you great opportunities to explore all of North Wales. Back to the campsite: our pitch was quite spacious, given that we had a caravan and an awning and still had plenty of space to sit in the sun in front of our tent. The site is calm and peaceful, as there are not a lot of small children running around. Toilet blocks were very clean. All in all, a wonderful campsite!
