Just enjoyed 3 nights at Clachtoll with lovely views of the beach and mountains. Warm welcome from owners / wardens Jim & Ishbell who kept the facilities immaculate.
Beautiful area to explore by foot and by car. A visit to the small village of Drumbeg via Clashnessie beach was very pleasant.Enjoyed our walk to the 'broch' and look out for the 'Lazy beds' which were created to cultivate the potatoes!
Just remember to take a camera!

Stayed here during our 2 week trip round the highlands. We only planned for 1 night but ended up stopping for 2, says it all really. One of the nicest sites we stayed on during the whole trip.
Friendly welcome from Jim, all facilities clean and in working order. Mixture of tents, caravans, motorhomes etc but well spaced out. The beauty of this site is its close proximity to a lovely beach and the beautiful sunsets.
Lochinver is the nearest town 5 miles away so ensure you have your provisions handy.
Can't wait to return.

OK we went for the first time last year and the weather was brilliant. Blue skies, wall to wall sunshine - perfect.
We booked again for this year.
When I checked the long range forecast, we nearly cancelled!
The weather wasn't anything like last year - we had the tail end of a tornado from Stornaway and the tent took a bit of a pasting!
However - we are still going next year - this is the friendliest and most relaxing campsite we have been to and I cant imagine going anywhere else.

2nd time here. Weather not as good as the scorching weather we got last July but we loved the place even more. As usual Jim and Ishbel very welcoming and helpful. We were on same pitch as last year and our neighbours were same too. As we settled in we recognised more and more faces from last year. Thats the effect place has on people, they just keep coming back. Beach and surrounding area so beautiful. Sea crystal clear. Toilets n showers up to usual good standard but they could do with adding a few more showers to save the wait in the morning. Lochinver 5 mile drive away worth a visit. Good pier for fishing. Seal pops up to say hello. Culag Woods were good fun to explore too. Sandwood Bay a must to visit. Park the car then 4.5 mile walk there worth the effort. Want to go back for 2 weeks next year. Infact anyone selling up so we can just move there for good!

Our second visit to Clachtoll, and once again found the site to be as superb as we remembered before despite changeable weather. The views, beach, walks and wildlife are exceptional, as are the owners who always seem to be around and must be some of the most helpful and amiable owners anywhere. The utilities block is always clean and pleasant and the only criticism here would be that there just aren't enough showers, toilet cubicles, basins or urinals to meet peak demand ! More please Jim ! We will definitely be returning again to Clachtoll.

Just had 10 nights on this delightful campsite. Received a very warm welcome from owners Jim & Ishbel. Facilities very good with lovely clean showers, toilets and dishwashing with lots of free hot water. Laundry facilities also available. Very reasonably priced at £16 per night for pitch with electricity. Mostly had beautiful weather, apart from one very windy night! Jim very helpful to us and many other campers who were having trouble with tents and awnings etc. Area outstandingly beautiful with stunning scenery and fabulous coastline. Many walks and cycle routes in the surrounding area, with opportunities to see deer, highland cattle and many species of sea-life. Our holiday was made when Jim and Ishbel took us out in their boat to have an up-close experience with the common Dolphins who were in Clachtoll Bay on our last day - absolutely amazing! Had lovely fish and chips at Caberfeidh Inn at Lochinver. Would highly recommend site.

When we visited this campsite we were extremely lucky with the weather, temperatures ranged around 27 degrees c and the sun was shining the entire time!
Absolutely gorgeous campsite with fantastic facilities, bathrooms were clean and you can see that the owners put in a lot of time and effort on the upkeep and maintenance.
The sites are good, lovely views of the beach and the surrounding mountains although not all sites are flat and its quite good to get in early. Good walks in the area for a variety of levels and there is always something to see or do.
If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area, I would HIGHLY recommend this campsite. One of my best holidays in Scotland yet!

I stayed for 7 nights and would have loved to have been there longer- it's magic!
I was there during a warm, dry spell, with glorious blue skies, which enhanced the beautiful scenery. Experienced the wind for a couple of days, but then, you expect that on the coast
Jim and Ishbel have to be the most welcoming camp site owners in Scotland!
The whole atmosphere is great, for me the best bit was my three dogs being so welcome. The beach is superb and also a few miles along the coast, Clashnessie Beach is great, each time I walked there, it was empty.
I would say a trip to Achiltibue is a must, the scenery is stunning, with glorious views of the Summer Isles. A visit to the smokehouse there, is a very rewarding culinary experience!
I found the site facilities excellent. They don't sell gas, but when I ran out, kind, ever helpful Jim, loaned me one, until I could obtain a replacement. As a single female caravanner, knowing help is at hand on a site, is very reassuring.
As an older person, I think I would probably only use this site during the quieter periods!
I think for a young family it is a truly lovely location.
As someone else said, the last five miles IS a challenge with a caravan! That said, I now feel I could tow it anywhere!

We were delighted with the site, the friendly welcome Jim gave us, and the stunning location. The facilities were clean and modern, the local framed photos in the toilet cubicles were a nice touch. There is an interesting display of local information in the Rangers hut by the beach and the salmon netters bothy is also worth a visit. The beach is to die for. We enjoyed cycling from the site to the lighthouse at Stoer, a ride recommended by Jim , who could not have been more helpful, the perfect host. My husband also enjoyed the 30 odd mile circuit from the site via Drumbeg and the Lochinver Road.

We arrived here in mid-June and were met by a very warm greeting from the owner Bill and his wife. We hadn’t booked but there was plenty of space (it gets fully booked during summer). The site is next to the lovely Clachtoll beach and has excellent views over the sea to the Outer Hebrides. We were shown some pitches, pitched up and Bill came back to collect the fees (£13 per night for a family tent).
The site has free hot showers, a laundry room, dishwashing area, clean toilets and plenty of tourist information on the display board.
Six miles away is Lochinver with a Spar, Costcutters, butchers, newsagents, petrol station, outdoor shop and a pie shop.
The weather was sunny most of the time but was a bit windy. Our pegs kept coming loose in the sandy soil (site next to beach) so fetch some pegs for sandy soil or buy some hand crafted pegs from the site.
The area is great for walking (with mountains such as Suilven), bird-watching and mountain biking. We saw Red Deer whilst we was in the area.
