This campsite is owned by Jim and Isabell who are the most fantastic people I have ever met on any campsite. They made us feel welcome from the minute we landed to the time we left, we had travelled 12 hours and Jim even help us to erect the tent. This site is idyllic, peaceful and in a beautiful location. It has a very friendly atmosphere and extremely welcoming. You can pitch anywhere there are no set pitches, we pitched so we had a beautiful view of the sea. The shower block and toilets are all in the middle of the camp site so you dont have to walk far to get to the block. Inside the block they have the toilets which are spotless and the two showers which have push button controls and have constant hot water at a great temperature. The vanity area is lovely and clean and the hairdryer was 20p to use. The washing up area was in the same block but round the other side and there is a payphone which is available as you cant get reception on your mobile if your on T-Mobile or o2. Ice packs are frozen for free. There is no laundry on site but the Owners do have plans to build one for 2007. No shop on site and the nearest town is Lochinver which is six miles away. The local Spar in Lochinver is open till 9 or 10pm most nights y ou can get everything you need from here are reasonable prices. Beach is beautiful at the campsite and its a two minute walk through a sand dune to get to the beach, you dont need to wear any shoes either. The water is clear and the sand is white. If you fancy a ride out you can go to Stoer which is half a mile away. At the village hall in Stoer during the months of July and August they open the village hall and serve snacks such as toasties, sandwiches, scones and hot and cold drinks its open from 12pm to 4pm Monday to Friday. Its well worth a visit. If you travel up the same road for another two miles you will come to Clashnessie Beach which is a deserted extremely large white sandy beach. Lochinver has a new leisure centre with internet access which is a £1 for an hour. It also has a cafe area and you can play pool if the weather is bad or badminton, it also has an exercise area with exercise equipment and this is the place to visit. There is a good charity shop inside which is well stocked. This site comes highly recommended

Hi have visited several campsites now, but cannot recommend this one highly enough. Jim and Ishbel were the wardens on duty and were brilliant. They are friendly and will help you out with whatever you need. Their shower and toilet facilities are spotless. The location has to be seen to be believed. It is a short walk to the beach where the water is turquoise and the sand is clean. There are also several walks in this area but for the more adventurous you don't need to go far for more daring stuff. One thing to point out though is the shops in Lochinver only get a delivery of bread and milk Monday / Wednesday / Friday and can run out some days so would recommend bringing some just in case. That aside this is an excellent campsite ideal for kids and adults that has a real relaxing atmosphere about it but you still manage to have a great experience. It is that good my hubby jokingly said that he wished his work had an office there as it really is a great area. Again if you have the opportunity you must make this a site to stop at as its great.
