The website for this site shows beautiful facilities, and I am sure they are. The beach is stunning, but you don't quite see what the web-site shows. In all fairness if it was a sunny day, and you were spending the day on the beach you wouldn't even notice the site. If you arrive on a murky, windy day as we did, it was a bit of a shock to see the distance that the site is from the sand, the crowded camping areas and the large facilities block. We didn't stay the night as it wasn't the beachfront experience that we were expecting.

Go on a sunny day and give it the benefit of the doubt. I have given ratings, as I am sure we would have has less of a shock if we hadn't looked at the website, and I expect it is lovely based upon everyone elses reports.

This campsite is saved only by the stunning location! We found the facilities clean but very lacking for the number of people crammed on to the site, no restrictions on how close your neighbour will be, its a field with a fence, no shop, but the drive is good to the small town for supplies. The site when we were there was packed, mainly with campervans and loads and loads of children. The surrounding area is as I said stunning! Truly it is, walks along the rocky cliffs, white sandy beaches, and clear blue sea. Sunsets are amazing. Location is everything with this site!

Great campsite with funny, friendly, helpful owner.

Another beach front location and once again we were lucky with the weather - not even a breeze. Beach almost tropical looking with white beach and clear sea.

Facilities very clean and maintained and you even get free use of laundry powder and fabric conditioner although have to pay for the machine!

Made friends with the chickens and ducks that wander around.

Nearest town is 6 miles drive but not much there, we stocked up on provisions before we went so not sure what prices are.

Definitely be returning and recommend to others

Visited this campsite for 6 nights, very impressed with the very friendly owners who give you a lovely welcome and take great care to make sure you know all about the facility's etc, they always seem to be busy about the site, so are on hand should you have problems.

The facility's are toilet block with basins and 2 very good showers, laundry room with 2 machines, sink etc, outside shower for rinsing off wetsuits, wellies, etc excellent pot wash with hot drinks machine ( more for campers I think ).

The site is just by a beautiful white sand beach, and has some great views depending where you pitch.

Shops for provisions are in the local village of Lochinver, a bit limited for choice and very expensive, so best to stock up before you come. We also found, local tea rooms and fuel expensive indeed, (we paid 16 pence per litre more than Fort William ).

Our weather was mostly very unkind, the site is quite exposed so you do feel the wind, but we have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. I would recommend this destination and site to anyone wanting a get away from it all or walking holiday.

I really can recommend this site very highly. It is in a beautiful location next to a 'classic' West Coast of Northern Scotland bay with golden sand, turquoise sea and the added bonus of sandstone geology in the gneiss landscape of Assynt.

Pot wash, showers/toilets and electric hook up perfect: clean and efficient. Owners very personable and keen to make sure you know everything you feel you need to! Top value for money.

The area itself is stunning. You are far enough away to be remote but Lochinver has basic shops in the south and Drumbeg stores to the north can provide your needs. Go stocked up for your stay!

This is a great campsite in a super location, although you must accept its `near the sea` and is windy. I was given the freedom to choose where to pitch and there was a great choice.

The toilet block is really cool, very clean, and in addition there is a coffee machine as well(50 pence), I used it 3 times, great WIFI access free, and a nice area to walk. The access road is worth it too as well. A nice drive.

The owner takes the time to have a chat, which is nice.

Visited this site for the second time. Every bit as good as the first time, will definitely spend more time there in the future.

Site extremely friendly, mainly due to the friendly nature of the owner Jim Galway.

Facilities spotless and everything in good working order.

Beautiful beach with water suitable for swimming.

Children will have a great time there.

Thanks for a great holiday

Do not miss this site. Just the best site we have ever been to. Set in the most beautiful countryside, two minutes from a secluded sandy beach that wouldn't look out of place in the Caribbean.

The site owner is possibly one of the nicest guys you could meet. Nothing is too much trouble for him.

The showers and toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen, and as for nothing for the children to do as in a previous review, children only need to bring their imagination!

Very quiet at night. Just superb.

We started a tour of NW Scotland planning to head on after a day or two and stayed for six. Currently on day three whilst writing this. We could not bring ourselves to move on.

What a perfect site! Location simply beautiful with views over the sea, the owner is marvellous always on hand with help and advice. The facilities are good but no shop. Only advice I would give anyone is go prepared with provisions as shops are not very accessible and as the site is at the end of quite a scary 5 mile road, you don't want to keep going along it. I will definitely be returning and for longer

Probably the best campsite we have stayed on and in a fantastic location next to a beautiful beach.

The site is at the end of a long single track road, but there is plenty of visibility and passing spaces. When we arrived, we were shown to our pitch & our hook up was checked to ensure it was long enough (we were offered the loan of an an extension if we needed it).

The owners are lovely, very friendly & very helpful. They are on site all day, cleaning, checking facilities, chatting or just helping someone set up.

The campsite is split into 3 main areas, so manages to maintain a small friendly community atmosphere. The toilet block is in the middle of the site, so you're never too far from it. Even when fully booked, there is still plenty of space.

A Fish & Chip van visits several times a week, which is a great treat!

The toilets / showers / wash up areas are kept immaculate.

On a first evening, there was a sing song session followed by a bonfire on the beach, which was great and all the kids were encouraged to join in.

We went with our 3 kids (4, 7 & 10) and they loved it here. The elder ones were out most evenings on their bikes and didn't miss having a park. There is a huge grass area next to the site which the kids can play in.

We had one gusty night, which saw one family's flimsy tent literally collapse! but the owner was there first thing in the morning with a replacement tent for them to use for the remainder of their holiday - wow what service!.

Will we be back - absolutely !
