Spent 2 nights here over a weekend in August, 4 of us in total consisting of 2 adults and 2 children.
Setting of the site is good in a lovely little village and not too far from Skipton.
The facilities are basic and require both expansion and updating.
The 'playground' consists of a large patch of builders sand where a large array of past their best sit on toys, tricycles are situated.
The playground in the village is much better and is not too much of a walk away.
Very rowdy group unfortunately spoilt the atmosphere of the site.

Positives - This site is in a great location, with 2 pubs, a small store and a takeaway all within a 5 minute walk. The site is fairly level for the tents, and pitches are a reasonbly good size. There seems to be lots of space for kids to play in both a separate field and sand pit area.
Negatives - The facilities are quite poor. The hot water for dishwashing is not that hot, ok if you are a healthy adult but I wouldn't be 100% sure that your stuff was getting clean enough for small kids or babies. There are only 2 showers and 4 sinks for the whole site which meant queues in the morning. The sinks are not separate or in a privacy cubicle, and they are the same ones people have to use to wash thier hands after using the toilets - so again they get busy at peak times. There are only 4 toilets which also means queues for those.
I personally won't visit again as whilst the site was nice the facilities were really not good enough.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay (even if it did rain a little) Very picturesque. Only stayed for one night but would definitely go back again (probably for a long weekend) 2 drawbacks for us. First drawback, with having a 3 year old she absolutely LOVED the sandy playground area (all in one suit needed when rainy/damp!) but there were far too many toys on there, probably 60 bikes trikes scooters along with slides etc, and I would say half of the toys were broken and needed to be removed. Needs attention asap really.
2nd drawback, toilet and shower facilities, needs updating/cleaning more regularly/more showers toilets. Was ok for a one night stay though, but would put me off a little if staying longer.
Although I didn't see the owners, some friends did, and said they were lovely and welcoming.
Hoping to go back soon

We booked this site as it was our son's first camping trip so we needed to be not to far away. What a good choice! The campsite was clean and very child friendly. The pitches were a really good size, with good length grass which provided extra comfort under the tent. The toilet/shower blocks whilst not huge were clean and well lit at night. On site there is a field to play cricket or football and there is a large well stocked sand area for the under 8's.My son loved this! The owner was very friendly and always available on the phone if needed. The village has a great corner shop, fantastic chinese takeaway and a couple of friendly pubs. We also went to the local park and watched the cricket team play. All in all a very successful first camping trip away, especially considering for 2 adults and 2 children it cost us £12.50 for the night. We will definitely be back.

This site is a little gem. Very clean, flat and within a couple of minutes walk to the local pubs, the chinese takeaway and the village. The site owners are really friendly and gave us advice of where to go and what's around there to do on our first visit. There are a couple of toilets, a shower (50p for five minutes of blissfully hot, powerful water) and a washing up station. The kids playpark is for the younger children but our older kids had their bikes and there is a play park opposite the Railway pub at the top of the lane so they were happy.
A lovely site within reasonable driving distance to many attractions round and about the area. Highly recommended!

We arrived on BH Monday to a very friendly reception from the owners. Our tent had EHU and there was a really generous space in which to pitch our Vango Tigris 600. All pitches were level.
Set in a beautiful, gently sloping valley. Cononley village is a quick stroll with 2 pubs. We sat outside the Railway Pub while the kids played on the park opposite, so everyone was happy!
The camping & Caravan brochure said there was a facility to refreeze ice packs but there seemed to be no sign or any facility for this.
There is one shower in ladies and one in the men’s which are 50p for 5 mins. Very powerful and hot shower, but one shower isn't a lot for a sizeable site, and not heated brrrr! There are 2 dishwashing points and we found it to be clean for most of the time.
The play area on site is really for toddlers. It's a large sandpit with prams and a Tomy house and other toys. The park in the village was brilliant for my kids (7 & 10).
The Chinese take away in the village is worth a visit for convenience and there's a Post Office for papers and bits of fresh and frozen goods.
Skipton is a 3 mile drive, but we found it a little disappointing as a town. I’m sure there are more quaint towns further afield. Skipton Castle was £20 for family ticket but we chose not to bother. The Black Bull pub on the high street has a beer garden overlooking the canal and the food is lovely.
All in all a lovely stay and we would recommend because of the setting, convenience to the village amenities rather for the on-site facilities. £12.50 per night for C&C members was a bargain. Definitely 4/5 score.

Super campsite. Owners friendly and very helpful. Facilities clean and everything we needed was there. Village very pretty with two pubs. Railway station nearby with trains to Blackpool to the west and Leeds / Bradford to the east. The trains ran quite near the campsite but as they were electric were very quiet.
Delightful setting with beautiful views. We will definitely be back.

Lovely thick spongey grass to pitch our tent on; it was like an extra layer of carpet under our feet - divine!
Pitch space was great and we had an electric hook-up.
The village of Cononley is just delightful and the trains passing right by the site, was lovely (took me back to my childhood!)The sound of cockerels & other animals, was lovely - such a break away from busy working life!
A great huge sand-play area for the kids and an abundance of field space for the older kids to play games.
The washing & toilet area was clean, but I felt a little inadequate - 2 showers for the whole site; 1 in womens & 1 in mens. It could have done with a family shower room as it was difficult to shower 2 adults & 2 children at one go. 2 sinks doesn't seem much, but that said, we never had to wait to use them.
At £12.50 per night for a tent pitch with electric, this site was just fantastic - we've been to much larger sites with all mod-cons previously, but we both agreed that Riverside is one of our favourites - we cant wait to go again!

We have just arrived back for from a 2 night stay at Riverside Caravan Site and I felt that we should write this review,
We arrived on Friday aft and was met by Alison the owner who was very kind and friendly and showed us where to pitch our tent, the pitches are a very good size we didn't have electric but some other tents/ caravans did.
We were pitched close to the children's park which our two boys 4yrs and 6yrs loved! It had a great choice of toys and a sand floor which made perfect playing!. The site is a nice quiet site and we all felt safe there allowing the children to use the toilets and park by themselves (under our watchful eye obviously).
The showers were 50p for 5 mins for ladies and 20p for 2 mins for men we never had to queue or wait but with there only been 2 on-site in the height of season this maybe a problem. They were cleaned regulary and very basic but adequate for a few days away.
It was a 2 minute walk in to the village where there was a couple of pubs, train station, bus stops, and post office / shop not to mention great playing park with a sports pavilion in, we watched the local cricket team play cricket on the sat afternoon and went for a drink into the railway inn pub. Big beer garden and very child friendly.
We found the post office shop very handy selling a small selection of must have items at reasonable prices. We also took the train into skipton which was excellent value at £1.60 per adult rtn!
Overall this is an excellent friendly site within a great location and will provide you within a good relaxing holiday or break-away and the local area will also ensure there is something to do for everyone we will be returning and would recommend this to others !
On the first evening my hubby lost his wallet in the park he didn't realise till 2 hrs later he went back and it was still sat on the bench where he had lost it, all in tact shows the nice safe area that surrounds this site.

Facilities basic and clean. The views from the site are lovely and the site is located within a five minute walk from the village. The owners are very friendly and approachable.
The area is lovely, some nice walks and 3 miles to the gateway to the dales town of Skipton. We will be returning very soon.
