The toilet/shower facilities weren't just basic, they were inadequate, both in terms of number of toilets/showers, cleanliness and availability of hot water. We expected it to be busy, but there were over 25 tents and a rally field full of caravans.
The toilets were frequently blocked, smelly, with no toilet roll - with very little warm water. I paid 40p for a 5 minute luke warm dribble and my daughter got no warm water at all so had to just wash her hair in freezing water. No sockets for hair driers etc, muddy access to toilets / exit probably due to number of people tramping over it.

Plus points : Close to station for train into Skipton; Big field next door for games (even though noone bothered to use it); pub in village served nice food.

 > Location of site is in a small village so didn't have the country-side away from it all feel and you could hear some road noise at night.

> However being in the village did have some positives, 2 great pubs serving lovely food and real ale, a take-away, shop/post office and a park with football pitch.

> The site had a great sand pit area with some good toys in and a couple of swings

> The camp-site had designated pitches so you were gaurenteed plenty of room. The toilet facilities were described as basic and yes they were, 2 toilets and 2 sinks but very clean and plenty of hot water. The shower was 20p for 3 mins.

> The owners were very friendly and helpful, brought us a slab for our BBQ and asked if we were O.K. Everytime we saw them. Paid at end of stay as short on cash on arrival, when he said £20 I thought that was per. Night but was for both nights!. Extremely reasonable. So, a very welcoming site with 'extras' for children, basic but clean toilet facilities and not a rules sign in sight!

Spent Friday and Saturday night here with our two children (aged 4 and 3). We were given our pitch number over the phone when we booked a couple of weeks before and were told to just pitch and the owners would come down and sort payment out during our weekend. However, when we arrived a couple were halfway through pitching their tent in our pitch, having just turned up and decided to pitch there. They refused to move and as we didn't want to just pitch in somebody elses pitch, we had to hang around for about 45 minutes until the owners arrived and gave us an available pitch. Very annoying! (although not the campsites fault obviously, but with the owners not being on-site I can imagine this happens quite often).

The kids played in the massive sand area, although my 5 year old was getting a bit bored after a while and saying it was too babyish (lots of ride-on toys etc). There were only a couple of swings and they were usually taken up by the older kids.

The ladies toilets only had two toilet cubicles (there was usually a queue) and one shower. Toilet roll did run out so make sure you take some just in case.

The village is lovely, has a bigger playground which our kids loved. We went to the New Inn for lunch which I would highly recommend, very child-friendly and the food was lovely and very reasonable. We didn't use the takeaway but a few people on the site did and we saw the car delivering the takeaways.

We did have a really nice weekend and did like the site, however our main criticism was the noise. The group opposite had their music absolutely blasting out from 9am every day - so no chance of relaxing and taking in the countryside and the peace and quiet. As the owners are not on-site, there is no patrol and there is no curfew either. There were two big groups of tents near us and the noise was unbelievable. We don't expect silence at night, but these groups had their car doors open with the radios on absolutely blasting out (we had this either side of us with the different groups), and lots of screaming and shouting until midnight the first night, and until 1am the second night when they finally went to bed and turned their music off.

Whilst I appreciate that this may not happen frequently, for us having two very noisy groups with music blasting out all day from 9am until 1am has put us off this site which is a shame as the site has a lot going for it.

Great small site very friendly, Just returned from a weekend at this small but pleasant family friendly site, lots of children about swings, BIG sand area with some very well played with toys.

No massive problems only the usual things, ran out of hot water at peak times, no loo paper at times, toilets very basic , bins overflowing. More annoying than anything you could hear road noise in the morning from the main Skipton route. But had a great time .

Making my fourth visit in 2 months this weekend.

The site has plenty of room for many pitches along with more than enough room (a full field) for motorhomes and towing caravans.

Although basic, the 'facilities' are adequate.

Having not entered, I can only tell you what OH has told me regards the ladies - 2 cubicles and a shower.

The gents has two cubicles, one urinal and two sinks (one of which is cold water only)

There is no shower in the gents, but there is a separate shower room (which anyone can use) - 20p for 2 minutes (used to be 3 minutes)

Within the same building, there are two sink/drainers for washing ones pots, etc.

Pitches come with leccy hook up only at the top end of the site (entrance end) - of which there are approximately 10 - 15.

The site details says 30 pitches . I've seen many more on site on a weekend, and there's still LOADS of room.

There a sand play area for the young 'uns and swings nearer the facilities block.

Cononley itself is a lovely village.

Two pubs, one shop/newsagent and a chinese take out (that will deliver to site).

The site is a C&C Club only site, although 'guests' are allowed if not too busy.

Excellent value for money, superb location, adequate facilities, kid friendly - one of my fave sites!

We stayed for two nights in a tent with electric. This is a great little place, basic amenities, but what do you need, showers, toilets and hot water for washing.
Village is great with two good pubs, a post office with basic things and you also have the pleasure of watching the steam train go by every
few hours.
Our girls had a great time just playing with others and been kids, makes a big change from all these ridiculous manufactured sites where you are forced into nights in the bar. Say hello to your neighbours at the site and have a few beers. Definitely going back here.

This was our first camping trip. We booked two nights (Friday/Saturday) to try out all our camping gear. It cost £25 for two nights. The site is set in pleasant and quiet surrounding.
We received our pitch number when we booked. The pitch was flat and next to a small wall. The toilet / Shower block was adequate two toilets and two washbasins in each toilet, the toilet paper towel ran out on the saturday night (pack your own just in case) There is a shaver point in gents and only one shower. A sink for washing pots and pans. There are a couple of standpipes situated around the field.
The train line runs alongside the campsite with a regular service between Leeds and Skipton. We enjoyed our first camping trip on this site and the views and the quiet village are very relaxing.

What a perfect little site everything in walking distance -railway station, 2 pubs, shop and a takeaway. Jumped on train and looked round skipton, loved everything about the site, village and skipton.
This was my 1st visit to the area, but it wont be my last and when I do visit again whether I'm on my motorbike camping or with the car and caravan this is the site I will use.

What a fabulous camp site! We stayed here last May Bank Holiday and we had a fabulous time. We had 2 tents for 2 families 4 adults and 4 children. There was tonnes of room for the children to run around in and the adults too. The pitches were massive and you had plenty of room to keep you away from your neighbours if you like it that way. Room for porches and gazebo's etc.

The site is completely away from any hustle and bustle, down a country track and the views are fabulous. Really peaceful. We were very lucky to have a fabulous weekend weather wise, but if not so lucky there are too great pubs in the village and a Chinese take away which delivers to site. There is a local shop selling all of your essentials and a fabulous park for the kids. Train station 5 mins walk away and easy into Skipton.

The family who run the site are lovely and are there hands on daily if you need them.

For those people who moan about the toilet block, yes it is small and basic, but everything there and easy to reach from every pitch.

Brill site great for families but as I said, you are not sat on top of each other so great for couples too. 2 fab play areas for the children.

 Top site!

Owners friendly and informal, collected money couple of days after we pitched. Toilets / showers basic but clean. Good dog walk adjacent to site (don't forget to tiptoe through the sheep poo!).

Cracking little pub in village, the Railway, with two big screens for sports. Train station is 5 mins walk away for Skipton (next stop).

Definitely coming back to this gem of a site.
