Just back from a great weekend at Riverside 11th-13th, this was our first camp of the year with friends.
The owner was a lovely lady and was around the site quite a bit, we had phoned up prior to arriving due to the weather and local floods, she assured us that the fields for camping were fine and she would be there with boards for us on arrival to prevent mud getting into our tents which was a nice gesture and welcomed.
We were pitched in a group of 3 on a corner plot just across from the toilet block and close to the children's play area (11, 12, 12a) this was very spacious and flat, also 2 picnic benches were very handy.
The toilets were cleaned regularly, 2 toilets and a shower in ladies and 3 toilets and 1 shower in gents. You do need 20's gents and 50's ladies for the showers.
Pot washing area was inside the barn with massive sinks and hot water (some places it has just been warm).
Chemical disposal point outside with recycling bins for everything plastic, card, bottles etc.
The 'noise' from the trains isnt bad at all, the freight trains are obviously louder and longer but weren't that frequent with it being the weekend, the other trains are electric so not much noise at all. It would be nice to be there when the steam trains are out and about though !
Playground for the kids is nice but is for toddlers really, we would highly recommend the 5 minute walk back over the rail bridge to the village park for the bigger one (us adults had fun too)
If you want to know about any walks or things to do outside the campsite then the owner puts leaflets out, but don't be afraid to ask her she is more than happy to talk to you and give you the info.
We will be returning shortly

I loved it! It's a bigger site than I expected for a CS and has about 13 hookups.
The facilities are fairly basic, don't expect posh vanity units or anything, but absolutely spotless. They're in a barn at the top of the main pathway which you can see if you look on the site listing maps.
In the ladies there are two toilets, two washbasins and a shower. There is plenty of hot water, soap and a hand dryer. The men's shower is 20p for 2 minutes but you can put two or three in at once, and the ladies is 50p for 5 minutes. The showers are hot and very powerful. There are also a couple of large (presumably laundry) sinks and a washing up sink, all under cover in the barn.
There's a fenced play area which seemed to be well stocked with toys.
Trains do run by regularly but I honestly think you'd have to be a pretty light sleeper for them to disturb you through the night.
The site is a few minutes' walk from the village shop, the take-away Chinese (which serves Indian and Japanese and various other nationalities as well and is apparently very good), the two pubs, the station (£1. 80 return into Skipton) and the bus stop. The Railway Inn is dog-friendly but doesn't serve food, The New Inn serves very good food and on St. Patrick's night they had an excellent live group.
We walked into Skipton along the tow path, which we thought would be about a 3-mile stroll, but it wasn't a nice walk at all because it's alongside the very busy and very noisy main road from Skipton to Keighley and we had to shout to talk to each other. It took us a couple of hours - the train, on the other hand takes about 4 minutes.

The only problem with this site is the washrooms which I thought were poor and not worth £14 a night. Because of this I doubt we would use this site again even though it's in a very scenic location and handy for the train into Skipton.
I highly recommend the steam train journey to Haworth for a tenner as it's a good day out and there's loads of quaint shops packed to the rafters (literally)with curios and bits n bobs for those who just can't resist the temptation.
There's a couple of pubs in Cononley though we only went in the railway inn which was good enough for us.

Just got back from a wonderful few days here. It is a great site for the following reasons:
1. Lovely pitches for tents - flat and the pegs went in easily.
2. The owners are really nice people - helpful and chatty, and keep the facilities clean
3. If you have under 8s with you there is a brilliant play paddock with loads of toys, a wendy house, slides, pedal cars and tractors. My 2yo and 4yo spent literally hours having fun in there and the owner said he will be investing in new toys this winter. There is also a fabulous play park in Cononly village, about 5mins walk from the site.
4. Location is superb as the train station links to so many places you don't need to use you car if you don't want to. I imagine this would be a great bonus if you are in a camper van!
There are some nice walks from the site to Skipton along the canal or river.
All in all a brilliant site. Just remember you need 50p or some 20ps for the shower, and some earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the road noise in the valley is a constant drone and freight trains rumble past all night.

I stayed here for four nights in school holidays with my two children aged 6yrs and 7yrs.
Great site, very flat and easy to get pitched, marked pitches so no confusion and even though the site was busy towards weekend there was plenty of space as the pitches are nicely spaced.
I prefer the non-ehu field as there is no through traffic, the ehu field is bordered by the track which leads to the bigger non ehu field so I would be wary of that field with small children.
There is a sandy play area on site which is okay for younger children, for slightly older children there is a great park just across the road.
Shower and toilet facilities are fine, not great but okay - you're camping.
Access to the train line is good, we didn't even notice the noise from the trains which other reviews refer to so I guess it depends how sensitive you are.
Post office, chinese take-away and two pubs in the village so all needs catered for.
Great walks from the site as well.
Would definitely return - in a nutshell: child friendly, no noise issues, adequate facilities and a good location.

We have just returned from our second stay at this wonderful site. We booked in advance and reserved a pitch, bags of space for our large tent, EHU excellent and the views are stunning!
Since last year some updating has been done on the amenities block, and it looks as if more is planned. Lovely hot showers, clean toilets, excellent. There is tons of space for our youngsters to run about and they love the sand pit play area.
We ate at the New Inn in the village. The food was excellent, but a word of warning. Friday nights get very busy, we had to wait an hour for food and our 2 year old got very tired, hungry and grumpy. The bar man's solution was to come over, look at his watch and suggest it might be time for us to leave soon as he had a full bar. We will not be eating there again.
The site is a delight, and for those of you into real ale, the Post Office has plentiful stocks of a wide variety of different breweries- well worth checking out!
We will definitely return to Riverside again, the location is perfect for all the attractions. Bojangles cafe in Skipton comes highly recommended!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this site. The pitches are large and flat and with plenty space for our kids to play and good value for money at £14 per night including electric.
The facilities are basic but clean, however, queues were forming for the showers at the weekend when it was full (3 showers in total. )
The scenery is lovely and located in a nice village with two pubs, we favoured the new inn for the food and atmosphere. There is an excellent park in the village which our children enjoyed.
We took the nearby train into Skipton which was reasonable and visited Skipton castle. There are other places to visit either on the train or by car.
We found it peaceful during the week, (despite the noise from the constant trains) however, it did get very busy and much noisier by Friday with groups pitched together, 3 tents pitched in one corner near us and a few groups opposite us. We were glad to leave on Saturday.
We would return but not on a weekend.

Visited this campsite earlier this week, nice site with clean toilets/showers and the pitches were more than adequate for all types of campers.
The only drawback to this site is that the trains are close to the site and run all day and during the night when they go from passenger trains to goods trains and are very noisy and long! Our 18month old grandson was woken at 03. 20am and could not settle after that as the trains just kept on coming.
Tent users would be best using the large field furthest away from the railway to ensure a good nights sleep.

Stayed here just for the one night as we are introducing our lab puppy to camping and it was wonderful! Beautiful setting, ample basic but very clean facilities. You have to ring a mobile number on arrival to check in and then the lady comes down to make sure you have settled in.
She directed us to the two nearby pubs, we only tried the Railway which is a local pub but still very friendly. There is some great dog walking fields through a gate at the end of the camping field.
It is near to Skipton which is a lovely friendly town. Cant recommend it enough, we will be back !

An excellent site, great for our family and dog. Large space for 8 berth tent with picnic benches scattered around to use if you wish. Toilet/ Shower block (50p for 5 minutes) cleaned twice or three times a day - very well maintained. F
reezers available to use in washing up area.
Field to exercise dog - ideal. Childrens play area on sand so great in the sunshine for under 8's, older children thoroughly enjoyed the field for cricket and football and there is also a local park which is outstanding.
Overall a great stay and we will return.
