Having rung around various campsites late in the day to be told they were full for the bank holiday, riverside came to our rescue with one ehu pitch available. The owners were really friendly on the phone and gave us our pitch number and told us we could turn up and pitch anytime.
The campsite has lovely views and the village is only a few minutes walk away with 2 pubs (The New Inn serves great food) older children's playground, railway station, shop stocking plenty of supplies and chinese takeaway.
The facilities are basic but clean (as previously mentioned). The children's playground was great for small children.
Overall a great site which we will no doubt be returning to.

When we first arrived the owner came to meet us and show us our pitches, very nice people.
There was a group of us, we had 3 tents and a large gazebo, we didn't get charged for the gazebo which was brill.
The camp site was clean, well kept, as were the toilets / shower block, I say block as it was just 1 block, 1 door for the ladies and 1 door for the gents, the washing up area was also in the block 1 sink. There was plenty of walks to go on if that's your thing. The park was for toddlers but if you have kids aged 8/9 there was a park in the village about 5 mins walk, with a football pitch.
The village consisted of 2 pubs one with sky entertainment and a pool table. The other pub did meals but they had set times as to when they serve, it's not serve all day pub. The village had a Cantonese take out which delivered to the camp site which was a bonus and the food was nice .
It also had a village shop / PO with just the basic food no camp shop.
On the whole we enjoyed our stay and would go back most definitely

Second stay at this lovely site.
Pitches are large and well marked.
As others have said the toilets are in need of updating but this is due to planning problems not a lack of will by the owners. However the toilets are clean and the 20p for three mins charge for the shower (50p in the ladies – but you get longer according to OH) means there is rarely a queue.
The owners are on site regularly and are chatty and open to comments. We had a barbecue slab delivered to our pitch before we had even got the tent out of the car.
Chinese Takeaway in the village is excellent and will deliver to your tent if you cannot face the five minute walk. Village shop stocks a huge amount of stuff given its size.
Railway station is 5 minutes away with trains to Skipton (another 5 minutes) and Leeds.
Large sandy play area for the kids with scooters and diggers etc, and some swings by the toilets. There is also plenty of room for ball games. There is also an excellent park in the village with a skate board park and a football pitch. New this visit was a dog walk.
Overall this is a lovely site and worth being a Member of the C&CC for on its own.

What a little gem! The site is very well maintained. The owners are lovely and come down to the site regularly to empty bins etc and make sure that we are happy campers! The facilities on the site are basic, 2 washing up, 2 loo's, and a shower each for ladies and gents. However, there was always hot water and never a queue. I wouldn't let this put you off the site.
The play area was great for younger kids and plenty of space for ball games on the back fields. The village has 2 nice pubs and a great park. Skipton is only one stop on the train from Cononley and goes every 20 mins on a sat and hourly on a Sunday. The station is a 5 min walk from the site. It cost us £4.00 return for 2 adults and 2 kids.Less than parking! We were also able to go for a nice lunch by the canal and have a glass of wine since we had no car in tow!
We went to Bolton Abbey, which was lovely. On a nice day there's a little riverside beach so take your nets and buckets! Also a farmers market there every 4th Sunday and 1st Sunday in Skipton.
We have already booked to go back!

Arrived early at Riverside and called the owner to ask if it was okay to go on site and start pitching. Owner Mrs Naylor was lovely and told me to go right ahead. She said she'd pop up later.
The owners were on site (they live offsite) twice a day and always asked if everything was okay.
Site has spacious marked pitches. Lot's of EHU close to the toilet block and two large non EHU fields. The EHU pitches are all close to the children’s play area which is geared towards the 8 years and under age group. Sand covered play area with loads of toys. Our kids 3 and 6 had a blast. Take old clothes as they get covered in sand! It's not enough to be dragged back into the tent though, loads of open space for ball games and running around.
We had a couple of groups stay on the site that were sociable and respectful, always quiet by 11pm.
The toilet block was small, two showers, one in the ladies, which I was told by my good lady, was a cracking power shower, the other was a separate shower (not in the men’s loo) room which was a bit of a sprinkle. The shower was 20p for 3 minutes. This was fine. I never had to Q to get into the shower. Cold though, toilet block was cold. No soap or hand towels on the last day of our long weekend. If the site had been busy the toilet block would have been a bit of a nightmare. All in all not the best toilet block I have seen. Two sinks for dishwashing, always hot water available.
Despite the toilet block the site was lovely and good value for money at £15 a night with EHU.
Nestled in the lovely village of Cononley it has a post office, two lovely pubs, and a good play park all within 5 minutes walking distance. Cracking views from site.
Skipton is a short 5 minute drive away which has a good market, canals, swimming pools, play park and castle. Morrisons and Mr Tesco are also there. NO TOY SHOP in Skipton. Bring back Woolies! The kids had an awful job spending their holiday money on a toy. Cononley shop/PO was our saviour!
In summary, a beautiful site with friendly owners at a reasonable price, if the toilet block was given a bit more attention (I'd pay a bit more if it was) this would be up on my favourite list. Great site four out of five.

Well we were pleasantly surprised when we came here in January 2009! We went to another camp site which we had booked near the area and it wasn't everything it cracked up to be when we got there so we found Riverside Caravan Site as a lucky back up and were really happy with how friendly they were to greet us last minute in the pitch black on a Friday night.
We pitched our tent up eventually and spent 3 nights here. It was £15 a night for 2 of us in our 8 man tent with electric hook up. They gave us a nice spot near to the toilet/washing block where the lights were on all night so it wasn't dark and gloomy! and it wasn't too far to walk to in the middle of the night.
The owner said hello whenever he saw us and never mentioned money once although we didn't pay him until Sunday morning due to not been organized after our visit to the other camp site which I thought was really decent of them and they were always happy to help.
If they was one issue it was that the toilet block was freezing! and they was no heating to it whatsoever and it was January! ha ha, if these guys got a heated toilet block I'm pretty certain it would be 100% spot on! as it was always clean!
Connelly train station was in walking distance and the village was peaceful, quiet and very friendly. Really nice views!

We decided to try this site over Christmas. A good choice. Jim (the owner) came down most days including Christmas Day, to check everything was OK.He even lent us an extension for the hook up.He even moved his sheep so we could exercise our dog! He put down a duck board to save us a very short but muddy walk.Shower was very hot and enough water for your 50p, but in December I would have liked some heating in the building. During our stay, the owners went away for their own holiday, but Jim came down a couple of times to check on things, empty the bins etc.Clearly this family understand 'customer service'.A short train ride saved the hassle of parking in Skipton on Christmas Eve. The New Inn did a fantastic Christmas lunch. The Railway Inn welcomed our dog (so much that she found her own way there - twice!). We will return.

Great location, excellent choice of walks and the train station is a short walk away if you want to visit Skipton.
Nice village with friendly locals who made us feel very welcome!
The Railway Pub is dog friendly so if you have your four legged friend with you this is the place to go on an evening!
All in all a great site to visit, the owners are extremely friendly and helpful and we shall certainly be back very soon!

We arrived at 6:30pm on Friday 5th Sept during a heavy downpour wondering what on earth we would find as most of the fields around were lakes. The field was very very wet but not the muddy mess we have encountered on other sites.
As we were finding the least wet area the owner arrived, put us on a dryish area, showed us where duckboards were and offered us all the help we needed including an extension for our hookup.
Because the water table was so high, he thought the spring water might get contaminated and so had provided a bowser of drinking water just in case. Thoughtful thinking ahead.
The shower was a dream, hot and forceful. They obviously listened to previous comments and have installed a second boiler which feeds the shower, with the original boiler for washing up. The owner told us he wanted to build a larger block but had problems with the council.
New Inn food excellent, friendly landlord. Trains frequent, went on Settle Carlisle route beautiful scenery!
Fantastic site and we will be visiting again in the next camping season.

We stayed at this site over the bank holiday weekend just gone. We went up on the Friday and came back on the Monday. Firstly - sat nav takes you straight to the site no problem.
Upon arrival we were directed to a field where we could pick any spot we wanted. We were disappointed with the field provided for 3 reasons - 1 - the grass was quite long (although the owners did say that this was because of the recent heavy rain - long grass doesn't get as boggy - so this was fair enough). 2 - The field had a lot of nettles and our daughter kept getting stung by them which became a bit of a pain. 3 - the field was full of cow pats or sheep pats - you couldn't really avoid pitching on them- after a while though we got used to that.
The site on the whole is in a lovely location - my biggest criticism is that more often than not there was no hot water in the showers or in the pot wash area which became frustrating.
Other than the above - the site was fine and we had a good weekend. The local village is 5 mins walk away and it has a shop, 2 nice pubs (new inn caters for food and families - The railway more your sports type. There is also a chinese take away that we didn't use but it looked and smelt good.
The site has a kids play area which was not bad - there could be more added to it but there was a lovely play area in the village.
The owners were very friendly and gave us money back on a couple of occasions when we mentioned the cold showers - which was good of them.
All in all we had a good time
