Just got back from a bootifull weekend. the weather was super. new wardens really good. nice friendly welcome from them. although we have been many times before she ran through all site rules etc. Which was good - you never know if something has changed. This must be one of our top ten sites peace and quiet lovely big pitches good loo block - the new wardens had cleaned the block really well spotless.

We don't fish but talking to the fishermen-women they say it is very good its just nice to walk around the lakes and watch them reeling them in

The nearby fish and chip shop is also very good

If you want a nice relaxing time you cannot go wrong

What a wonderful, peaceful site. We stayed for a week and loved it all. The toilet block was very clean and had facilities for washing and drying clothes. The shop was well stocked for those little essentials you may have forgotten. It had a good selection of baits and tackle for the fishermen. Jackie and Paul were the new wardens and were so helpful and friendly. A great asset!

The two fishing lakes are well stocked and many good fish were caught whilst we were there.

The only downside is the distance from local shops but if you have a car its not a real problem.

All in all a great site and we will definitely be returning.

Really great site, fishing excellent, to far to walk to the pub ! Just one thing showers are not bieng cleaned properly, ie. Wall tiles looking really grubby, ready for a really good deep clean, the grate at the back of the shower is disgusting ! wasn't cleaned while we were there, also a lot of rules which gets some peoples back up. Having said that would go back. Great place for fishing, and no kids ! The new lodges look excellant. Everyone is friendly, Theres a big tesco not to far away which is handy, and a bus to March and surrounding areas

This campsite is excellent, clean, tidy, and first class staff, friendly and helpful.

Toilet block was exceptionally clean, electric showers which were free, block was cleaned at the same time every day.

Site is well laid out, small shop which had the basics.

Our pitch was a good size, the site was very quiet, (adults only perhaps being the reason?)it was very wet whilst we were there, but the grass drained very well.

The only downside (for us) would be that the nearest village was too far to walk to, particularly in poor weather, our guess being a good 35-40 mins. Given we enjoy a good 'local' whilst camping this was not good for us but did not in any way deter from this sites overall excellence.

We would certainly go back. Our overall '9' rating was purely because of the location, no other reason.

I cannot find a fault with this site.

Excellent facilities, clean and well maintained. Plenty of showers, toilets, laundry facilities and washing up facilities.

Small shop on site too.

Spacious pitches, well organised, very helpful and friendly staff.

Good fishing too.

Access is easy and signposted.

Dogs welcome with plenty of poo bins and places to walk.

Views across the Fens.

I will be back again to this excellent campsite.

We spent the May bank holiday at this site, it's the first time we have been there and what a lovely clean tidy and peaceful site. it's the best CL/ private site we have had the good fortune to stay at. it's set out very well. there is a good clean well ventilated shower block with toilets and sinks for washing, the only criticism I would suggest is to have an automatic air freshener up and running as I think that would really help at busy times.

The site has two large fishing lakes and a small wooded area to walk around, as we have a dog it's was really lovely to walk around the lakes and the wood with him, there is also other walks around from the site too. The easements were friendly and helpful and the site was free of rubbish, which was lovely to see there are holiday pine cottages being introduced this year too for friends who don't caravan or camp to hire out so they can be with you on your stay.

All in all we will and would recommend this site to everyone who wants to stay in an adult only site overlooking the tens with lovely night skies and wonderful views. The site has fully serviced pitches and electric hook ups around the site with some hard standings and grass pitches too you will have a great short break or holiday staying here, there is so much out and about to explore the tens and also you are not that far from the Norfolk coast too.

Why not try it for yourself and have a great time like we did.

My husband and I stayed for 10 nights on a full service pitch in November. We had a lovely holiday as don't usually use the caravan in winter.

On arrival we had a warm welcome from the site owner. The pitches are all very large and ours was a hard standing pitch, great for the time of year. Lovely views across the fields and very quiet. The toilet block was always warm and very clean. Lots of dog walks from the site. Only fault was very dark in the evening. Could do with more lighting.

Doddington the nearest village has everything you need. The fish and chips were very nice. March is a lovely town.

All in all a great campsite and nice area for a quiet holiday. We will return.

 Positives:

Well managed site tidy appearance, not crowded

Lots of controllable hot water in the showers

Good walking on the Fens straight from the site

Fishing okay - tidy pools/ponds

Good map of local walks

Negatives;

Reception only open from 7. 00 - 9. 30am (we are on holiday!)& 12 -1. So you couldn't access tourist info, buy essentials, book exchange, book in, buy daily fishing tickets etc without telephoning the owners out of these limited hours.

I asked the owners about putting the heating on in the facilities block and was told it would be put on when they considered it to be appropriate -it was very cold in there. So we only used their shower once and had to use our own to keep warm!

Although facilities weren't dirty they never seemed to be closed for cleaning. And the same bucket of dirty water seemed to be in the ladies block for the whole of the 4 days we were there. I hated moping the shower with filthy water - ugh. Another reason for not being able to use their facilities.

Rather expensive - pitch fees and you pay for everything, dogs, awnings, hardstanding, etc! Have never been to a campsite where the cost of using a 6kg domestic washing machine ranges from £3 to £7! Plus the tumble drier. Also told we would have to pay for our awning for all 4 nights, even though we only intended using it for 3 nights as they couldn't police that sort of thing. I wonder how other campsites manage?

How to improve this site - address the issues above and don't treat customers as idiots by putting childish warnings in red on the information leaflet.

Our 3rd visit. No idea why my rating last year was 9/10, is really a 10/10! 5 star well deserved!

This visit the weather was not on our side but that is when the facilities are tested. And all is good! As tenters it was good to learn that the pitches (don't forget they are v. Large!) were not flooded given the mass of rain our country has encountered this summer!

No wet floors as earlier comment mentioned, the flooring in the toilet block is high quality tiles and there is a mop and bucket to clean up after your shower, v. Good idea! Charlie has added a further curtain inside the shower cubicle so your hanging clothes/towel are snug n dry.

As tenters who don't use electric, this site is fully tested by us and can not think of one reason why you shouldn't visit. I have mentioned before but it is deserved justice, we have been to a few 5 star and never have the high quaility loo roll that fields end water has!

There is a little charity box in reception for either visitors donate or like we did, use the freezer for our ice packs, the box is not rattled under your nose which reminds you that this site respects you and welcomes you almost as an extension to their home.

I see that Charlie is aiming to pop some lodges up and I am sure these will be a success given his attention to detail and above all, he and his staff 'care' about you, now that is priceless!

Since our last visit (please read my earlier report), the toilet unit by the lake has been completed and makes an additional option to use when the main block is being cleaned daily.

The site is peaceful late at night and in the morning - which goes a long way towards your peaceful stay.

Fishing was good even in the downpours, so I am guessing we will be back next year, although have some distance to go to get into the 100 club (2 members already and I did meet a guest who may be the third!). Enjoy your stay!

What a great site. This is the second time we have stayed here and it's even better than before. We meant to stay only 3 nights but I was taken ill while there so ended up staying 8.

The staff were extremely accommodating allowing us to stay on our pitch for as long as possible before we had to move to the non hard standing pitch next door. They did all they could to help regularly calling to enquire after my health and even offering to take my wife shopping.

The site is extremely well maintained with huge pitches and spotless facilities, with individual water and drainage for each pitch. It has two well stocked lakes, so if fishing's your passion then this site is the place to be.

This is an adult only site as I suppose the lakes could be a bit of a lure for youngsters.
