We really enjoyed our stay although it being the the first year for the new part of the site some of the work was on going.

This in no way interfered with our visit.

The site is lovely now and with all the work and planting etc can only get better and better.

With me being a fisherman as happy as a pig in you know what!.

Unfortunately we have both experienced a bit of ill health other wise we would have been back something we intend to rectify in 2010.

If you want a first class site run by a first class family 'THIS IS THE ONE'

Oh what a find this site is, we stayed for a few days in June and was only home a week when we booked to go back. The pitches are all large with water and waste for each pitch, some hard standing and some grass. There is also a cl tucked nicely in a separate part that looked really well sheltered and both within a stone throw to fishing.

The toilet block is brand new and kept clean with plenty of hot water for showers, there is also laundry and washing up facilities in the block. The reception has a good stock of bait and also sells some essential goods. The fishing is very good I am told, hubbie was very pleased to have a good day catching fish. If not wanting to fish the lakes are very good for walking round and not too far to ride into March, Huntingdon, Ely and even Peterborough is within driving distance if large shopping towns are your desire. The village of Doddington is around a mile away with a small shop and 2 pubs, although we did not try these a couple of local people that were fishing assured me they were good food and reasonably priced they also said there is a fish and chip shop.

We returned home today and will definitely be back soon.

Visited this site this weekend for three nights after seeing it advertised. The site is very new , opened this year so has a lot of maturing to do. On arrival the staff very very friendly and extremely helpful.

The pitch allocated was very large with water, waste and 16 amp electric and a lovely view of open countryside. The toilet block is small but excellent with clean showers and toilets and a nice laundry area. Two excellent fishing lakes within feet of the site for anyone intereseted in angling. Lots of dog walks also directly from site. Local village a short drive away has two pubs couple of shops and an excellent chip shop.

Overall I would readily recommend the site to anyone looking for peace and quiet in lovely surroundings and at the moment the prices are extremely reasonable.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay and have to say its one of the best sites we have stayed at.

Very friendly staff and greeted by Charlie on arrival.

Site is spotless, everything is so clean. Beautiful showers and toilets.

The layout is great with plenty of room on pitch for caravan, awning and car. Also water and waste at pitch.

All recently planted and in a couple of years when plants are established it will be even more beautiful

We found this to be a beautiful peaceful retreat. Only just over a mile from Doddington with a couple of shops and fish and chip shop. Also 2 pubs.

Fishing was great and keep my better half amused all weekend.

We will definitely be booking again and again.

Absolutely fantastic! Clean, welcoming, great facilities, well laid out, shop, cafe, dog walking, fish in the lake, friendly staff. The list is endless! Compared to others in a much higher price bracket this site is such great value for money.
Caravans are located close to the fishing - so much so that you can open your kitchen window and say come back when your breakfast is ready! Would recommend it for those looking for first class facilities and who don't want to be fleeced for extras.
For £40 we had three days camping, one evening and two days fishing, two dogs, an awning and a caravan - who says that the credit crunch should stop us having a great british holiday!

We visited the site on may bank holiday and found it to be very clean and tidy. The staff very friendly and helpful. Fishing lakes are very good. The only down side was the lack of water pressure in the showers and not much room in them. Otherwise a very well kept site and well worth a visit.

We spent a few days at the site recently in our tent as it now is open to campers as well as caravans.

It is a new site that only opened at Easter this year and it has been planned and executed to the highest standards.

The camping field is spacious with good drainage and plenty of room. Facilities are second to none. The shower block is brand new, operating theatre clean and well laid out, with excellent showers, toilets and space all round. It benefits from large disabled showers and toilets too. I used to own a building company and I can tell you, I was very impressed with the standard of workmanship. They clearly had an excellent chippy, builder and plasterer!

In between the two shower rooms on the CL field there is a laundry room with washer, drier and ironing facilities and to the side/rear of the building is an elsom point.

The whole site is well lit at night and the reception is far more than just that. It is a cafe, shop and fishing tackle/bait shop too to cater for the fishermen who use the lakes (which are brilliant by the way) and anyone else onn site. The shop stocks a range of essential grocery items as well as a good range of bait and tackle. The cafe is also a WiFi hotspot which is free and a great extra bonus.

Fields End Water is a wonderful getaway for peace, tranquility and fishing. There are no children on site or people under 25 to minimize the possibility of disruptive groups. In time, when all the meticulously planted hedgerows and planting matures, this site will be an absolutely beautiful place to stay and make use of the lakes. Fishing is discounted for campers (currently £4 for a day) and is exceptional value for a highly regarded match and carp venue.

We felt more than welcome and Charlie, Mrs Charlie and the dog Monkey (that's a lab called monkey, not a dog/monkey hybrid you understand.). The owners really bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and seem to be willing to do anything to help.

We are usually in a caravan but went for a tent on this occasion and we were looked after very well indeed.

Charlie et al are fonts of local knowledge and will happily advise on some of the beautiful fen walks, fishing methods and the local stores and eateries, all whilst making you a much needed coffee or even a cappuccino! There a some excellent pubs nearby too and again, the owners will be happy to advise.

March is nearby and Chatteris and Ely are also a short drive. Ely is a lovely cathedral city (more of a town but they insist on city) with excellent shopping and some impressive architecture.

All in all, a lovely site, well planned, laid out and catered for with individual water and electricity hookups for all caravans on the cl site and many of the camping pitches too. I would not hesitate to return and heartily recommend Fields End to anyone. I have been to sites charging twice what they do and not been half as impressed. Give it a go, you really won't be disappointed!

Visited the site over the spring bank holiday. We were on a hard standing pitch. The paths are all gravel (coloured stones) which we found a problem as my husband is disabled and was difficult for his mobility scooter to travel over this. The site owners and staff were all very helpful and friendly and it is a well laid out site.

Shower block was very clean, although with no heating I imagine could be a little cold during the winter months. 2 of the shower cubicles were a little on the small side with only 3 small hooks for clothing and towel. I understand from the owner that he is going to put a grab rail in the larger shower for disabled and a small bench (or similar) in all cubicles.

All in all this is a lovely friendly site and would recommend it. Their is also a CL. The toilet block their being much more disabled friendly. I believe that the gents toilet facilities are similar to the ladies.

Went to this site with my brother for a long weekends fishing. We were very warmly welcomed by Charlie and he suggested he could change our pitch to one that was very close to the 'Pit' which was our chosen fishing spot; (the name does not do the lake justice, it is very pretty).

As the main site was so new there were a few final details due to be completed by the week ending 23rd May. Our pitch was on level grass with dedicated water, electric and grey water drain. The toilet block was always kept immaculate, however, we would have appreciated a bit more space in the showers so that clothes did not get wet.

The fishing was excellent with plenty of action for most of the day and there is toilet by the lake as well, the shop is stocked with all the bait you need which is also convenient. Did not sample any of the local area, to busy fishing, but Doddington has a couple of pubs and useful shops.

The CL site is small but very sheltered with all facilities and close to both of the available lakes.

Cannot wait to go back again, already booked another long weekend.

We have used the CL in the past and found it to be most pleasant, we then heard that it was intended to make a larger site out of the rally field with 33 pitches. We had some reservations about this, after our visit all unfounded. On our way there we had a phone call to check on our arrival time to make sure someone was there to greet us. We have never had that before. When we arrived Charlie explained which pitch and how to use the barrier card etc.

The site covers a small area but with great planning appears to be much bigger with tiered levels giving good views over the lovely vista.

Some of the pitches are hard standing but all have ehu, water and waste water disposal. The whole site is planted with trees shrubs and flowers and in the near future will look beautiful.

The toilet block has showers for ladies, gentlemen and the not so able. Two washing machines and an ironing board for us dapper gents to use. Unless the ladies wish to them instead.

Information on the local area can be gleaned from notices placed around the site or ask Charlie a font of good info. I can wholly recommend the local pub The George Inn good food, good prices, good company and huge portions.(not to mention beer)

Now to the important part for me the fishing very good most of the time depending on the weather and your skill. The two lakes produce fish even to the beginner, the swims are comfortable and accessible to all as cars can be taken to them so long as you have a blue badge.

It has good dog walking areas some of I hear lead you past the pub. Nearby March appears to have the better shopping area so my wife tells me.

All in all a site with great potential I gave 10 out of 10 in all areas as I could not find fault even if I tried. Well just one Charlie if you read this try and curtail the wind.
