Husband, myself and 2 springer spaniels stayed here last weekend. Wonderful, but don't tell everyone!
Lovely fully serviced site, either hardstanding or grass pitches, which drained and dried quickly after very heavy rain storm at some unearthly hour on Sunday morning!
Site beautifully laid out and planted well. Is easy to access. There is also a rally/tent field which is well placed between reception / shop / cafe and the toilet / shower block, there is also a Caravan Club CL site. Any of the three choices would not disappoint.
Site and facilities kept spotlessly clean and tidy by very friendly wardens Ben and Debra. In fact the site itself is also very friendly and very peaceful and quiet, just right for recharging the batteries.
We are not fishermen, but those that were fishing looked content, our neighbour told us about her very excited husband who had caught one of the biggest fish, now pictured on the website.
Plenty of walks for people of all abilities (it is in the flat Fenlands), and certainly enough to keep our two springers amused, some lovely sniffs in the wood!
We would go back!

Stayed 8 nights. Well kept quite site, Helpful and friendly wardens. Large level pitches. Good fishing in both lakes, these are also open to non site users & access starts from 7am till dusk for all anglers. If you have a dog, there are some good woodland walks.
Clean facilities & basic shop at reception. Would recommend The Three Tuns in the village over the George for prices and quality of food. The Fish & chip shop is excellent & also serve Jacket potatoes. March for more shops and large supermarkets. Ely cathedral is a must. We very much enjoyed our stay & will return. Would highly recommend this site.

Please, please don't tell anyone else about this gem of a site or we may not be able to book a pitch again! Just returned from a week based on the main park and so hard to fault anything.
We were on a grass pitch with water and waste hookup, pitches extremely spacious, grass I think slightly bigger than the hardstandings but both have more than ample room for caravan, awning and car.
The whole site was spotless and so quiet despite being just about full all week.Ladies had 3 cubicles plus a disabled loo,3 washbasins and 3 showers on the main park (similar to the gents I believe )and two loo / shower rooms on the CL site plus separate loos for the fishermen. Reception sells basic groceries, fishing tackle and has a tourist info area and book exchange with other info on sheet provided at check in.
Hubby only fished one pond all week but plenty of fish and decent sizes as well so that's him happy.
Didn't use the village at all but did notice a couple of pubs, stores and a chippy,March has a range of shops including Tesco,Sainsburys and A Lidl. Ely worth a visit and easy access to Cambridge, Peterborough and Norfolk
Definitely one to return too.

Returned from this site last night after a 6 night stay. If you want peace and quiet with clean well equipped facilities then this is the site for you. The lack of noise was wonderful. Fishing pools (two in number) were well stocked and in beautiful surroundings.
The owner, Charlie and his wardens Ben and Debra were both welcoming and helpful at all times.
The nearest village, Doddington has a couple of pubs and a couple of small convenience stores. Tesco and Sainsbury found in nearby March (4.5miles).
Well worth a visit. We shall be returning.

We have just returned having spent seven nights in a tent.
The wardens Debra and Ben were more than helpful and Charlie the owner was seen everyday cutting the grass or keeping this beautiful site spit and span.
I am disabled with walking difficulties and the facilities were second to none.
This was my wifes second time fishing and over the week she caught over 140 fish.
This is a children free site so it is peaceful and quite all the time. The pubs in the village are o.K but I would not reccomend eating there it is very basic food and not very well cooked.
The village chippi is worth a visit and there are two small food stores. There is a 24hr Tescos in March about 20 mins drive away.
Overall if you are looking for a spotless clean friendly get away from it all campsite this has to be the one.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Fields End and would recommend it to anybody looking for a quiet, restful weekend.
For the fishermen, it is perfect with two lakes and fish ranging from tiddlers to up to just under 30lbs.
We, as non fishermen enjoyed some lovely walks. These are mapped out for you on a flyer from reception and cover distances from 2.3 miles up to 4.6 miles.
You can stay on either hardstanding or grass pitches and, if a member of the caravan club, can even stay on the CL site which is in a lovely setting just away from the main site.
There is a rally field too which, if you are looking for near flat pitches and a site to cater for a rally, you won't be far wrong considering here.
The showers are lovely and spacious and the better half said they are nice and hot too.
Arrival is no earlier than 12:00 noon and departure no later than 12:00 which works well for a restful departure.
All in all,a lovely site and one we will be returning to later in the year for another couple of long weekends. Perhaps we'll see you there?? Nigel and Liz (NiLi)

The main site is well laid out with good sized hardstanding and grass pitches. There is a separate Caravan Club CL field for 5 caravans next to the match lake.
The facilities are kept very clean and I didn't queue once to use them. The owner and the wardens were very friendly and helpful. You can purchase essentials from reception together with fishing tackle / bait.
They also make bacon rolls and tea/coffee. You can order newspapers from reception for an extra cost of 5p.
There is an excellent fish and chip shop in the village but it closes at 9pm most nights and all day on Monday.
We only tried the Three Tuns PH in the village for a meal. The food was OK albeit nothing special.
We will definitely be returning to this lovely site.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this site and we can honestly say that it is absolutely immaculate the toilet blocks / showers would do any hospital proud.
The site is a bit open due to it being new and it has 2 well stocked lakes. The site is also well situated for touring around the local area and not too far from Cambridge and St Ives.
The proprietors are very friendly and we can find no fault with this super site.

Has the makings of a very nice site.
At the moment there is a problem with very high winds especially if you are in a tent. This will get a bit better in a couple of years once the hedge that has been planted grows and thickens up.
Web site mentions free WiFi whilst internet connection is free it's not really WiFI as you have to go into reception to plug in and use in there
New shower block with great electric showers although no shower curtains so everything gets wet! Very clean although very short of loo roll every morning. Only one shower has a stool the other two need one. One shower is tiny basically the size of a shower try so no where to get dry. This shower would be better if the dividing wall to the large toilet next to it was taken down and made into an en-suite room. In fact there is another shower the other end which could have the same done which would be a great improvement.
There was only one sink for washing up so always a long wait. In the room there is enough room for 2 more sinks.
