Just returned from a sunny but windy weekend at this site. We'd been meaning to visit the site for ages. We had a warm welcome and were helped to choose the least windy pitch!
The pitch was very spacious and we had plenty of room. The were in fact some huge pitches.
There were 3 toilets and 3 showers for the ladies which were plenty for the number of units there. Not sure if there would be queues if the site was full.
You can get a Full English breakfast for £6 on a Saturday and bacon rolls everyday - which we did! Will definitely be going back.

Back again to our favourite site, weather awful but it didn't dampen our spirit. Facilities as always immaculate, great fishing - caught lots of big carp, The owner, Charlie, made us feel very welcome, it was nice to see the wardens, Ben and Debra, back again. The shop stocks essentials and fishing tackle, the bus stops right outside the site, just put your arm out for the bus to stop, it also allows dogs on the buses. We visit this site often because it is only 80 miles from where we live, and have
Never been disappointed, why travel hundreds of miles when everything you want is so close to home. Better the devil you know, we hope to return in July.

We spent a long weekend here and although the weather had been very bad the past few weeks our huge grass pitch was firm and not sodden.
Fully serviced pitches, good amenities, two fishing lakes, friendly, helpful staff. I like this place !
The village of Doddington is about a mile away with 2 pubs (The George and The Two Tuns), plus local shops and hairdresser.
Nearby is Ely with its shops and cathedral. Beware ! if you're not fit don't attempt climbing the west tower !
As I said earlier I like this site and would not hesitate to recommend it. Would we return ? Definitely.

Pitches are very large with plenty of room for an awning. Had electric hookup; water and waste water. Not too far to the CDP; 1 fairly close and 1 by main toilet block.
Main toilet block very clean and shower was very hot but floor does become slippy. The block was a little cold as only heated for a couple of hours 2 times a day (would be ok in the summer). There are other toilets available round the lakes.
Fishing was good although we chose a bad time of year (Late Feb)- the winds were extremely fierce (hence wind farm nearby).
Nothing very close but we used a scooter to visit the shops in Doddington; Costcutter, Newsagents and Post Office with stores. There are 2 pubs but we just visited the one. Had a great meal at THE GEORGE – superb food and prices.
Will definitely return some time.

We visited this site at the weekend having booked a pitch on the CL field. The site is in a lovely location overlooking one of the fishing lakes.
The facilities are close by so not far to lug the water and waste. The wardens are friendly and really welcoming on arrival and the site is obviously well looked after, very clean and well organised.
The shower we used wasn't very high pressure - barely a dribble, not sure if there was a water problem - perhaps best to use the facilities on the main site as the showers are new and more powerful!
If the site was closer to home we'd definitely visit again but we're looking for a site which is not far to get to on a Friday night.

2nd visit to this camp site and again we were not disappointed. New approach road made it easier to get on to site we have a large twin axle and had no trouble getting in or out.
Pitches are very large plenty of room for awning and car. Showers and toilet blocks very clean, only problem with the showers is that the hangers for your cloths are to close to shower and in some cases can get wet, other than that there good.
Some very nice villages around and Ely is only 30 mins away, the Cathedral is worth a visit and some very nice places to eat.
We love this site but as we do not fish we find that a long weekend is just enough for us.

Had another relaxing week-end here, our 3rd visit. Its not too far from our storage site so its nice and handy. Easy and wide access roads so no worry there.
Site itself is very clean and kept tidy, toilets well looked after.
Large plots and you don't feel on top of each other. Lawns kept looking neat and tidy. This is an ideal spot for those wanting peace and quiet. Very quiet with not much passing traffic. I don't think you will disappointed.
Will we be going back. Yes, and probably before the end of the year.

Arrived on site on Thursday (4th Aug, in the rain ) for a 3 night stay. Not having been to this site befor, have to say we chose it mainly for the fishing, and the reviews posted for it. Plus the fact that we did not have to travel far.
Great Fishing, great pitch (in both size and clenliness etc. )Very quiet, just as we had read. Very clean facilities, and very friendly campers.
This is good value for money. Maybe the notices around the buildings are reminders to all, that it is the campers responsibility to leave things as they find them, and would indeed, wish to find them. It sure seems to work.
Yes we will go back soon and a credit to the owners.

We booked into this site because it was fairly local to where we wanted to be. Although we are not into fishing I could see why folk would go there.
Upon arrival after a 2 hour drive we where greeted by the warden who proceeded to go through a whole list of do's and don'ts, ticking off each rule as he read it to us. It did feel a bit intense after a long journey, and I felt as though we would be made to take an exam at the end. Not really the sort of thing we as responsible and mature adult campers are use too.
We both felt a little uncomfortable and couldn't really enjoy our stay for fear of making a mistake.
However in spite of that we did find the site to be clean, well maintained with good but smallish shower block. The pitches were generous in size and well laid out. Security seemed adequate and most importantly had a dog walk close by.
Whilst we couldn't really fault the site that much I don't think we would use it again.

Spent 4 lovely peaceful days here, my husband fished and I read! The site itself is gorgeous, very well kept, with the shop providing morning papers, general bits and pieces and an excellent bacon roll if required!
Would have liked it a little nearer and accessible by walking to the village, with no facilities for a meal or a drink (alcoholic!) on site the road into Doddington to the two local pubs or chippy is a bit hair-raising with no footpath! Luckily our friends have a caravan so we used the car and sampled both pubs, both good pub food.
Showers excellent, and all other facilities top rate, friendly staff who helped when my husband ran the battery down and needed a jump start in our motorhome!
Will certainly be returning, highly recommended.
