We have visited Fields End twice so far this year and it never disappoints, the pitches are spacious the toilet block always spotlessly clean, the wardens very friendly, we like the fact that it is adults only always nice to have peace and quiet, and also the pitches are fully serviced including grey waste.
As for the fishing (which is why we go to Field End), it is a beautiful setting around the lake and dogs are allowed round the lake and always plenty of fish to be caught. Still waiting for my photo to go on your website, so come on Charlie where is it? (Ha Ha).
We do visit other sites but none of them come up to the standard of Fields End, we will be going back in October

One of our favourites!
Pitches very good and spacious.
Facilities very good - shower block always clean and plenty of lush toilet paper!
Laundry facilities (didn't use) washer and dryer top brands and look very new. Guests respect the facilities too.
Iron board and iron available (can't think why, as a tenter I would ever iron on holiday but lovely to have the option!).
Hairdryer (free) and sockets (free) if you need to plug straightners. I felt almost human!
Bait shop and general items available in shop very handy. Bait choice varied and very reasonably priced. Shop also had Ice creams and cold drinks which was appreciated in the 2 day heatwave we had!
Newspapers to order and ice pack facilities - very appreciated thank you!
Husband fished most days of our 6 night break - fishing very good but popular with local residents so campers get up early and enjoy!
We have been to a few 5 star sites and this really is a very nice site and very good value for money.
The owners and wardens, in fact all the visitors were all friendly and helpful. It felt a lovely place to stay, in fact we already going back in July!
The local chip shop ideal for all, especially if tenters fancy a treat!
Large Co-op 5 mins in the car at Chatteris. Local shops and post office in the village also very handy. All local people very friendly too which gives you a good feel factor on the colder and wet days!
Very peaceful at night. Being in the Fenlands it can be a little breezy but I have to say the wind turbines are relaxing to look at (if that makes sense!).
Thanks Charlie and everyone at Fields End Water.
Enjoy fellow campers!

What and absolutely brilliant site. Kevin and Jackie the wardens couldn't do enough to make sure your stay was enjoyed.
The pitches were of a generous proportion and very well kept. The toilet facilities were extremely clean and well kept.
The whole site is very well kept and security is good, there are gates that can only be accessed into the site by a swipe card that is given to you on your arrival and a small fee of a £5 deposit is charged and then given back on leaving.
There is plenty to see around the site, there is March town, Ely, St Ives and Cambridge and in the village of Doddington there are a post office, a cost cutter and a fish and chip shop. There are also two pubs for refreshment called The George and The Three Tuns but we preferred the second of the two. Great beer and the food wasn't bad either.
We will definitely be booking to go back to this site in the near future.

Just returned from a 5 day stay with a group of friends. A quiet adults only site.
The site is very clean and tidy. The toilets and showers immaculate and quite new looking.
The site is very easy to access from the road and the owners have set up a one way in and out using a card to access the barrier. It seems a bit complicated at first but I must say it works very well. Nice clear view of any oncoming vehicles.
The pitches are a generous size some grass some hardstanding and the ones we were on were full service, very nice not to have to walk a long way to a tap.
Lovely fishing lakes if you fish although we don't, but a couple of our friends did and caught a few.
Small shop in reception selling fishing tackle and milk and bits.
It is quite windy but then it is the fens, and the site is quite open.
There are quite a few small stores in Doddington and a couple of pubs. We ate out at The Anchor in Wimblington which was pricey but nice.
Charlie the owner was very pleasant and helpful along with his two assistant wardens.
A lovely site would go again.

The site is very well laid out, toilet block is nice and clean.
Its nice to have option of using the washing machine and tumble drier.
It is nice and quiet apart from dogs constantly barking! also the rules (and there are a few) state dogs must be on leads at all times this was not enforced we saw a few dogs allowed to wander with out leads!
The fish & chip shop in Doddington is great!
Its location is good for visiting all the local towns, Ely, March Wisbech and Kings Lynn is not to far all worth a visit.

This year was our second visit to the site after a visit at the same time last year. We chose the site primarily because of the on-site fishing my wife likes to fish too.
The site has 2 lakes the PIT and the POOL the Pit is a little more challenging to catch fish from but you have the opportunity to catch bigger fish than the Pool which tends to give you a guaranteed day of constant fish catching and the fish a still a good size, always good for your confidence. If you have a disabled blue badge you can park right next to your peg.
We were on a the main camp where all pitches have their own grey waste and water so we were able to just buy some waste pipe from the shop and run the waste straight to the drain. Next on my shopping list is a mains water adapter for my Waterhog.
The pitch we had was also hardstanding and you will need rock pegs to pitch your awning flat and good pitches all around be them hardstanding or grass.
The toilet facilities are very clean there are 2 blocks one on the CL site and a bigger one on the main camp which also has laundry, pot washing and ELSAN. Never had to queue for anything which is always good.
Fish and Chip shop in the village was excellent but be careful of the costcutter as I nearly bought bacon which was 1 week out of date and sausage which was a few days out of date just lucky to notice at the checkout. Local Post Office also supplies the essentials.
Al in all an excellent site and I would fully recommend for the fisherman or for the tourer that just wants some peace and quiet.

Our second visit, but this time trying the cl. Nice sized pitch overlooking the pool lake. Good weather for us too. Fished both lakes successfully.
Facilities are in a timber type construction and has two showers and toilets, also the toilet is on the end for Fishermen/women and is clean and tidy.
Staff were friendly and helpful as always. A new entrance roadway was under construction on our visit,so will be interested to see it up and running and may be a better approach.
Had a nice break and will be returning soon.

Just spent 5 days at this site, wardens/owners all friendly. A very clean and neat and tidy site with very good size pitches. Toilet and showers clean at all times, plenty of hot water. No road noise, very quite site. Great for fishing, hubby had some good fish. Would definitely return to this site, my only concern is that now the new field has been opened up will the toilet and shower block cope? Only time will tell We went to March and found it to have all the shops you needed only a 10 min drive and a big Tesco just outside of March

Arrived on a Sunday to the CL site, just about to unpack and the next unit had a barking dog that just didn't shut up, so managed to move to the main site - what a good move that was - very quiet and plenty of space between units and I am glad we did as two more units arrived on the CL site and both had yappie dogs which would bark for about 1/2 hour each time.
On the whole as I have said the site is very quiet, with the odd exception of these people. Perhaps the owner can consider handing people a notice when they first arrive that they sign to agree to keep their dogs quiet.
The site is rural and not close to any shops, you can however order a newspaper from the on site shop now which also sells bait and some other fishing accessories. MARCH is probably the closest town which does have a large tesco store and petrol station.
I go mainly for the fishing which is very good I didn't manage to get any large specimens this time but there were some big fish coming out of 'the pit'.
The owner has obviously put a lot of hard work into the site, it is a 'caravanning fishermans' dream location with the lakes right by the caravans so not far to take your fishing tackle. Most of the time it is quiet and relaxing, and being 'adult only' is the icing on the cake for us. This is our second visit and we are due to return in a couple of months time.
If you are a keen angler and want some good fishing and peace and tranquillity this place is hard to beat.

What a lovely site, we arrived on a Friday evening, were greeted. Booked in and set up, the weather was fantastic.
The toilet and shower facilities were lovely and clean, the shop stocked basic essentials and some fishing equipment. My husband and I fished the pool on the Saturday we had a really good amount of fish, the only small issue was because it was such lovely weather there was a motorbike off road racing centre up the road and all we could hear was that, but never the less we were more than impressed with the site and the fishing and we still relaxed.
On the Sunday we drove 10 mins to a large carboot sale and on our return my husband fished the pit, which was the specimen lake and other fishermen caught carp, but the hubby was only fishing for a couple of hours and set up for coarse fish and caught a lot of other types of fish, such as roach, perch & crucian carp. Because it was such nice weather the wardens even walked round selling ice creams and cold drinks! The only small issue again was the fact that as it was good weather there was a clay pigeon shoot next door and that was quite loud for most of the afternoon. On the other hand watching the brave people jumping out of the planes was entertaining!
I would like to say how nice the wardens were. Overall a lovely site and we will be going back!
