I can only endorse all of the plus points made in previous reviews. My visit was the weekend after a Bank Holiday weekend and the site was virtually empty. The site is basically for those who like to fish, the two lakes are crammed with fish, up to 29lb I am informed, in the 'Pit'.
Charlie, the owner, was for ever present, cutting the grass, trimming the newly planted hedgerows and generally keeping the site spick and span. The resident wardens, Ben and Debra, were also for ever present and always ready to spend the time of day.
At the moment the site, with it only being just over a year in being is subject to the winds coming in off of the Fens, when the vegetation grows it will no doubt be more sheltered. I cannot find anything to grumble about the site, the Toilet, showering and pot cleaning facilities were always spotlessly clean, both ladies and gents ablutions were equipped with showers and toilets for the disabled and the block was heated.
All in all, a lovely site, to be recommended for those who want to get away from it all and who are not looking for excitement on site. You can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the reception area whilst using the Wi Fi facilities, free of charge, to 'surf' on your laptops.
The nearby village of Doddington has two Pubs, which serve food, it has a post office, a fish and chip shop and a small general store.

Have just returned from a lovely stay at this campsite. It was immaculately kept with the biggest pitch sizes I have seen in this country.
The shower block was spotlessly clean and warm and although the site was full, I never had to queue! Charlie and the wardens were all friendly and helpful as were all the other campers.
Very peaceful site for chilling and hubby was well impressed with the fishing. Will be returning end of May. All in all a lovely site.

What a lovely site, very quiet and peaceful, great for the fisherman in the family. Very clean and tidy. Pitches are large with full services and very reasonable rates
Not far from the village with a couple of pubs, and a local shop. This is an adults only site so lots of peace and quiet. The owners have worked on this site and it's going into our little book of must visit again sites.

We stayed on the 'CL site', which is approached by quite a tight corner for large outfits such as ours. Area has a slight slope to it, so take some blocks just in-case.
Fantastic views over the fens and fishing lake.
The CL facilities are.Rustic. Yes there is a toilet and a shower but they are in a wooden building called 'the pool' the front of which is also used by the fishermen.
In comparison to the main site facilities theses were very poor.
A little bit of site envy. If we had known about the difference in presentation we would have paid the extra and used the main site. In fact when we tried to book on a month later they were fully booked.
Nice tranquil site, very welcoming, will use the main site in future.

The sites facilities were immaculate. The tiled floor when showering can get very cold on your feet if not in the height of summer. A rubber mat is provided to prevent being slippy, but does not help against the cold. This site advertised free WiFi, but my partner & I were both unable to pick up any WiFi within the site perimeters. I'm sure if you would ask, they would of turned it on.
It is a lovely clean site with views across working farm land in the distance and wind turbines too. Due to the flat landscape, expect some winds. Very quiet. Field end is also advertised as an adults only site, but we did spot a few children on site, although they were seen and not heard. TV reception is great. The best we've had for a while. We generally found the driveway to the pitches narrow and you are unable to reverse the caravan without touching the grass. We had to unhitch in the end and with the help of the owner, & another friendly caravanner, push the van into position. If the pitch opposite is vacant, this will not be an issue.
Shops are just over 1 mile away. Very new & fresh site. Will go again for short breaks.

We recently visited this site for a long weekend and we will definitely be going back for longer later on in the year.
It's a beautiful place with beautiful surroundings. We have never been to a site where so much pride has been taken to keep it clean and tidy. The shower and toilet block is immaculate. The pitches provide a large area with plenty of room between neighbours. There is also two lovely fishing lakes.
The owners are ever so friendly and helpful, they take great pride in the site.
We look forward to visiting again soon.

Visited this great site for the fist time and we were extremely pleased with the very friendly and helpful owners and the delightful site. It is very nicely laid out and has the biggest pitches that we have come across in over twenty years of caravanning. The ambience of the site obviously has an effect on the visitors as we found everyone we met on site was very friendly. The site is spotlessly kept and the facilities likewise, all pitches have electric hookup, fresh water tap and grey water disposal. The two nearest towns, March & Chatteris have small markets to visit & supermarkets are available in either.
We will return to this site as often as we are able to.

We have just spent over a week at this site and although it still has many things which recommend it to us, we feel that to go there for longer than five to seven days would be too long. If fishing is the number one item on your tick list then you are well in. There was a rally on when we were there and felt the facilities did not meet the number of people who would be using it. We would go back happily next year as it is very good value for money and when not overstretched is clean and friendly We would recommend it but look and ask questions when you decide to go. If the owners continue their improvements and keep to the standards we believe they are providing then it is one to watch. There is an easy commute to shops for groceries etc and Ely cathedral is a must, especially Sunday for free entry and a service. Facilities for the Disabled in the new block should be improved with a shower so that everything is in one room.

We have just returned from a very enjoyable 11 night stay, the site is immaculate, the shower block spotlessly clean.
Having water and waste on each pitch is a big bonus, no more struggling with barrels.
On our arrival we were met by Lyn who was very friendly and helpful giving us a wonderful start to our holiday. We chose this particular site (1) it is adults only and (2) the fishing. My husband fished most days whilst I just chilled out reading a book, he caught plenty of carp, roach and perch, the cost of the fishing is very reasonable, as was the cost of the pitch, fingers crossed it won't increase too much next year.
The site is very open but lots of trees have been planted around the site and once these start to grow it will make the site more sheltered.
We have two dogs and it was nice to go to a site where the dogs are not restricted anywhere around the site as long as they were on their leads, it was especially nice that I could take them around the fishing lake when it was time to take refreshments to my hubby, (I know sad, isn't it) Ben and Oscar (the dogs)really enjoyed the holiday as well.
Doddington is just a couple of miles from the site, but the town of March is only 5 miles away with plenty of pubs for meals, it has all the High Street banks no M & S or BHS but loads of other shops including Sainsbury, Tesco Express, Somerfield, Boots and Superdrug.
Will we be going again, the answer is YES, hopefully in a few weeks time.

Have just returned from a bank holiday weekend at this site, our first visit.
This is a new site that is showing great potential. New wash block, very good, but needing a little attention when we left at gone 3pm, ( it was the wardens day off,) just a pity the owners had not thought to check the situation. Only other slight criticism of facilities is a lack of space for toiletries in showers and hot water system struggled a bit when site was full and a lot of people wanted to wash up. These are only minor points which will not stop us from returning.
There are 2 fishing lakes, one held a match competition this weekend, but my husband enjoyed fishing the other and wants to return to get the large pike that got away!
All in all a great adults only site which looks as if it will improve once the hedges get more established, just hope the price does not rise too much next year as we thought it was a fair price at the moment.
