Theres not much to add to the already glowing reports Dornafield has received, but I'll try!
This was our first outing in our new trailer tent and we had a hook up pitch in the Orchard. Typically for us, 2 days of glorious sunshine was followed by 5 of almost non-stop rain. Despite that, I felt the site held up well. The entrance to the Orchard got rather churned up, but on the whole the individual pitches seemed to drain pretty well. Throughout our stay the toilets and showers were kept immaculate, the showers were hot and powerful and because of the way they have been constructed your clothes and towel stayed dry whilst showering. All staff that I encountered were cheerful and friendly and happy to stop for a chat. The produce in the shop was good, especially the local bacon! We spent a couple of evenings at the Two Mile Cross inn - good food, great banter with the staff and we even came joint 1st at one of their regular quiz evenings, beating the Dornafield team! We will be back, hoping for better weather, next year.

Wow!
This site is one of the best I have ever stayed on.
Firstly I will get the one and only fault you could find with this site and that is the entrance road. Dornafield have done all they can to negate this problem by insisting that all arrivals are after 12 and all departures are before 11, if this is stuck to there should be no problems.
Now onto everything else:
The welcome was first class, I felt like I was greeted as one of the family and we had never been before. We were given our pitch and I could not ask for anymore. Mains hook up, TV Aerial hook up, Fresh Water and waste and also a Chemical Disposal Point for every pitch. It was fabulous.
The shower and toilet block are first class, absolutely spotless. The showers are huge with music to listen to while you bathe.
The dog walk is nice and very well kept.
The dishwashing facilities and recycling centre are also great with washing up bowls and drainers provided. There is also a microwave to use if required.
Finally there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area, Torquay is about 10 minutes away, Exeter is about half an hour and Totnes and Dartmouth are not to far either.
We had a wonderful time and will definitely be returning to this site.

This site gets into my top 10 in England. The staff and all the folks on the site were incredibly friendly. It's like a time warp, just good manners and welcoming attitudes. The loo and shower block are the best I've seen in this country.
BEWARE; Access is via a very narrow lane. If you arrive before 12-o-clock and meet an outfit that has just left, you will need to do a lot of reversing!
The pitches are a mix of hardstanding and grass and the size can be quite varied. The best pitches are already taken. This site has a massive regular clientele, and some people basically live here most of the year. It's not hard to see why.
Nestled in a small sheltered valley, it is conveniently situated between moors and coast. If for some unimaginable reason you wanted to visit Torquay, then you could. All the main Dartmoor Tors are within driving distance. Cycle/bus schemes operate on Sundays. The quirky town of Totnes is nearby as are many other 'quaint' villages. Dartmouth, Exeter etc are all quite close. All the major supermarkets can be found in Newton Abbott. They're only a short distance away, but traffic is often at a standstill, so it may be best to go late at night for shopping.
The site shop is well stocked with basics, including pre-ordered bread, croissants and fruit scones. Plus they sell local organic clotted cream as well - fatal!
It's not cheap, but we're already booked to go back later this month. Just love the place.

Never written a reveiw before but always find them useful. So here we go!
Dornafield is a truly beautiful site, planted with flowers, shrubs and trees, making not only pretty surroundings but some privacy between pitches. Our pitch was in The Orchard (just for tents). It was a generous sized pitch, as were they all, and loads of room in the field even if the site were full. Book in advance if you want EHU as only about 5 pitches have this out of approx. 15.
Took our Eddy with us (the dog!), 2 good dog areas on site, nice sized fields to let them off the lead and run thier socks off!
Shop on site stocks all you would need, and there is a useful tourist information room that we found really helpful.
Camped for many years now and found the shower/toilet facilities the best i've ever come across. Loads of loos, seperate wash cubicles, and spacious showers(all free)
Two Mile Oak pub is 15min walk from site gate to beer garden, ate there twice and unlike other reviewers, found the food was just fine, and you can take the dog in the bar. A further 25min walk from here will get you to Court Farm Inn, a very pretty pub with garden, worth the walk on a nice evening.
Site is a good base for surrounding area, went to several beaches (doggy friendly ones are around) and also Becky Falls, which is a lovely afternoon out but not suitable for pushchairs or people with poor mobility.
All in all a great holiday but one word of advice. We are not caravan club members and were charged an extra fee on arrival at the site. This was only around £8, but unexpected, nevertheless.
Can strongly recommend this site and aim to return soon,

A very clean site, good overall facilities and really excellent helpful friendly staff. Other reviews say it all. A very convenient location for South Devon and would recommend the pub Two Mile Oak at the end of the road. We visited in school holidays and although we requested a quiet peaceful pitch as possible we found ourselves cramped in amongst dozens of children. My only criticism is that the site management should try to gently encourage parents to supervise their children and respect other holidaymakers. I lost count of the number of under fives aloud to ride bikes dangerously close to moving vehicles all across the site without helmets, an obvious danger. I would return to this site again but not in Buttermeadow, those wishing a relaxing holiday should ensure they ask for the other field, Blackrock Copse which was much less noisy.

WOW What a campsite. I can honestly say I have never in all my years been anywhere else like it. It's super clean, quiet, no pubs or clubs. HEAVEN!
It's the sort of place you go to get some peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. Every morning the kids would sit in the caravan and watch the rabbits playing in the next field it was lovely.
There is a great little playground for the kids where their dad took them everyday whilst I was cooking and my eldest actually learnt to ride her bike, it's also close to paignton zoo and the miniature pony sanctuary - I wanted to bring one home to put in the garden but my husband wasn't quite so keen on the idea, the kids however liked the ducks - they kept pinching their skips!
The tents and caravans are in different fields which is nice and the pitches are huge, there is even a bin beside your caravan and when it is full you flip the little disc over the wall and they come round and take your rubbish away - my husbnd liked that - it's his job to do the rubbish! If you want to go that extra mile you can go onto a super pitch and have your own personal water supply and even an ariel point.
The facilities were spotless and even the floors in the POWER showers were heated. There was even a little food preparation hut complete with microwave(for a small fee). The baby room was brilliant too it has a huge sink to bath my toddler in and it was nice and warm too.
There are also wardens in the field to keep everyone in order and make sure all the rules are adhered to.
A chippy van comes in a few nights a week and there is a nice pub a short walk away that do barbques most nights, we visited Newton Abbott nearly everyday, they have some really interesting shops to potter around and even a market once a week, we also visited Shaldon, Dawlish, Dawlish Warren and Teignmouth.
Overall it is a clean well presented site that has strict rules that you must stick to or receive a visit from a man on a quaddy so as long as you don't mind rules and sticking to them you'll love it.
Have recommended it to lots of people - will definitely return.

Spent a very pleasant week on this, pretty, well organised site. The hardstanding pitch I had was broad but short making manouvering on and off a little tricky for the larger caravan. That said the pitch had its own fresh / waste point, bin, aerial hook up, chemical disp point, and FREE wi-fi signal! The facilities here would take some beating particularly the toilet / shower areas Whch would not be out of place in a top hotel! A well stocked shop, tourist info room, games room, play areas, plenty of re-cycling bins and helpful staff make this a very popular site, I would advise pre-booking at any other time of year. For a visit to Devon you be hard pressed to do better!

We have just spent four nights with friends of ours on this beautiful site.
The pitches are very spacious with electric hook up and mains water. There are some hardstanding pitches but it is mostly grass. All the pitches are flat.
The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate.
The children enjoyed the park and the small games room which has a pool table, tv and a few arcade machines. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a small shop that stocked the main essentials. It also has a dog walking area.
We would definitely return to this peaceful and relaxing site.

We had a great weekend here with friends, the owners were really good.
When we booked we asked for our tents to be together, when we were given our pitches we were not beside each other. We went back to the reception and the owner was great, but I think if we were half an hour later we would of not got the pitch beside our friends.
The games room was ideal and the site was clean. Toilets we could not fault, every body seemed to use the mop that was provided after you had showered so that was kept clean lots of hot water. All in all a very relaxing holiday

We would highly recommend this lovely site, it is one of the best we have been to. We stayed in the orchard field and we had lovely spacious pitches with surrounding hedges and old stone walls. The areas around the shop/reception had lots of lovely flowering pots and baskets which looked nice on arrival.
The toilet and shower facilities were spotless, with plenty of toilet rolls and hot water, also a radio playing in the back round which is pleasant in the morning.
In the washing up room they also had a freezer where you could freeze your ice blocks and a coin operated microwave for emergency's.
The owners and wardens were VERY friendly and helpful. The shop was well stocked and you could get bread, croissants, newspapers delivered in the mornings,we even brought some scones and clotted cream in there.
There is a games room with table tennis, tv and games machines to keep the kids amused.
Well located for visiting Torquay, Dartmouth etc.
We would most definitely return.
