Booking process efficient with a nicely laid out brochure arriving before our departure. Site is very well set out with each plot sharing water and elsan points. I cannot understand a previous review about Black Rock Copse as our plot had lovely views over open fields full of cows.
Showers/toilets clean and warm but with the usual push button showers.
Booking in friendly and informative, shop seems well stocked but we didn't need to buy anything during our visit.
Narrow lanes near the site were an experience especially when we met a scaffold lorry coming round the corner.
Would recommend to friends etc

Visited Dornafield in November, fantastic site, got every thing you need. Staff very friendly, nice little shop that sells most daily needs. Had to ask to have our dustbin emptied, shame that! And a combine harvester was working till gone midnight on our last night (Saturday), very very noisy! The lane down into the site is very twisty and narrow with limited passing places, with some drivers refusing to give way and literal barging their way through, so I will not be going back to Dornafield sadly.

A well kept site but overpriced in my opinion. We have been here for a week and have found the toilet and shower block immaculate but have some reservations about other aspects of our stay.
Our pitch in Black Rock Copse is surrounded by hedge and has no view of the local countryside. There are children playing with a football next to our caravan.
If you are using the water services you will need to bring a screw on tap connector and the drain runs over a 6 inch dam causing waste water to run up hill.
The approach road over a quarter of a mile is single track with limited passing places and I'm not looking forward to negotiating that.
Finally the shop is quite a distance away from the extremities of the site which would entail a drive if you were not able to walk far.

We stayed here for 7 nights. This site is almost perfect. It is in a really peaceful setting. My wife commented as soon as we were pitched 'I feel relaxed already'.
THE PRO'S
Imaculately kept grounds, mower's always going
Peaceful and pretty setting
Facilities imaculately clean
Showers hot
Friendly staff
Felt safe for kids
Great location for all south Devon
CON'S
The infernal push button showers, 3, 4 and 5 Star hotels don't have them, Statics don't, sadly far too common on 5 star touring parks.
Tight access and egress from Park and narrow lane from main road which seems to be a rat run driven carelessly by locals.
New arrival's allowed on site early compounding the above and getting in the way of departures.
I would stay here again because the setting and facilities are so nice despite my minor gripes.

Just returned from two weeks at Dornafields. Lovely site. Well laid out pitches. Spotlessly clean toilets play areas for the kids and helpful friendly wardens.
The first week there was an evening event with Morris dancers, children's entertainer local ale and sausages. The on site takeaway van is a handy addition neatly tucked away.
Ideal base to explore south devon with plenty to do for the kids within a 20 mile radius whatever the weather.
Yes the entrance to the site is a bit tight (tighter on the way out than the way in!) but nothing to be over worried about.

My wife and I went for 7 nights the site and facilities were first class. We had a super pitch with all amenities beside the van. All the staff were great the site was close to every where. Would like to thank all the staff for a clean and tidy camp
The pub at the end of the road does good meals. Plenty of dog exercise area. My wife and I took a trip to Newton Abbott race course car booter on the Sunday and trieed to go to Exeter car boot but could not get in as we had the fog with us
The reason for 9out of 10 is for the road leading to camp - even if you only do 20 the locals seem to fly around

Just back from our first visit to this site. Recommended by friends. Bank holiday/Jubilee weekend so very busy. Expensive site - one of the priciest we've stayed at - but worth it. Very peaceful setting, great loos and showers. Loved the piped music in the loos and wonder why other sites don't do the same! Good little library available plus lots of info on local area. Decent stocked shop. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable on local area and walks.
We did a 2 hour walk and ended up at the Duke of Wellington pub in Ipplepen. Good basic pub food, freshly made, reasonably priced; and you can take the dog in if necessary but they also have a seated courtyard area at the back of the pub.
If you are staying in the Buttermeadow section of the site, the tv reception is fine but if you are staying up at Blackrock Copse, tv reception is poor. We had 2 nights in Buttermeadow but due to the site's busy weekend we had previously agreed to move for our final night up to Blackrock which is quieter and smaller than Buttermeadow.
Excellent dog exercise field available. No bad points except possibly the steep price but this is a very good site with excellent facilities. We paid £34 per night for 2 adults plus 1 dog.

The best site we have visited by far. The staff are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. The only noise is birdsong and yet you are ideally situated for the whole of South Devon. The nearest supermarkets are an Asda and Sainsburys (tried both and both very good) less than four miles away.
The toilets and shower block really do deserve a mention, with Radio 2 playing all day and being so clean and spacious the worst thing about them is having to leave them.
We had our two dogs with us and saw many other people with theirs proving how dog friendly the site is. The two dog walking areas are great (they even provide poo bags at each just in case you forget yours). The only slight downside was there was nowhere to really wash the dogs.
The site was being continuously maintained and it was easy to find the duty wardens if you needed them. The information centre had everything you could need and the games room looked great if you have children (or are a big kid yourself).
The one issue with the tent field was that the pitches all had a slope to them, they are very big pitches but only half of their size is usable and even then you have to do a bit of careful planning to get the flattest part - this did mean that all tents were sited right at the front of each pitch making the field seem a lot smaller when it was full.
Overall a really good site with only a couple of niggles. My big tip would be to make sure you try the jacket potatoes from the quarry on site!

I stayed for a week along with some friends, all of us have children and although the site itself is fantastic I feel that there was little or no thought in where we were pitched. Having children we would have been happier tucked away in a corner near the play facilities in stead we were on the fist few pitches on the entrance to Blackrock Copse which is the main thoroughfare for all traffic so we found ourselves constantly on guard for traffic.
On the last morning as we were packing up the staff were making no secret of the fact that they were waiting for us to leave so that they could cut the grass etc ready for the next arrivals, constantly driving past on their tractors, It was not the most comfortable feeling I have ever had.
The site itself is beautifully kept and the facilities are by far the best I have seen.
Overall I would recommend this site but sadly it has left a sour taste in my mouth and I will not be returning.

We have just spent the Easter weekend at Dornafield and feel I have to write a review because this has to be the best campsite we have stayed on.
From the minute you arrive you feel that this place is something special, the grounds and pitches are kept immaculate, the toilets and washing up areas are spotless with plenty of hot water for everyone.
Our 5 year old twins loved the play area and you just feel this is a safe environment for them to play and ride their bikes and scooters.
The owners even organised a fantastic Easter hunt for all the children on Easter morning which everyone enjoyed. The staff in the shop and office were more than helpful and the only thing I think could improve was that this could have stayed open slightly later as sometimes you are not back before 5:30. We went to the local pub, ' 2 Mile Oak' which served good proper pub food and the staff were very friendly, well worth a visit.
The area is fantastic with so much to do and we will definitely be going back as feel we only touched the surface of what there was on offer.
