What a great site, good well kept site. Clean toilet / shower blocks. The site warden is very friendly and helpful. There is an easy walk to the sea and along to Whitby. There is a good bus service from the main road outside the site.
Whitby has good shops and a plenty to see & do.
The Village where Heartbeat was recorded is worth a visit across the moors. This site is really one we will visit again.

Signposted from the A171 moor road, very easy to access, wide flat roads
Arrived around 11pm and found reception to be very helpful and friendly. We were shown to our pitch by the owner on his golf buggy.
A large site a bit of a regimented layout, no privacy between pitches. Gravel but set within grassed areas which I suspect may get a little slippery during wet periods.
Pitch was levelish but some side to side and front to back levelling was required.
Some pitches lower down were on level ground
Most pitches had great view out to sea as it is on a cliff top a few hundred meters from the sea, we had nice warm weather and a light breeze however its very exposed site, so would expect the elements to have a big bearing on your stay
Site was full and it looked like a lot of the pitches were seasonal.
Site is dog friendly and there is a specific dog walk on site.
Shower block was clean and warm with plenty of hot water.
Plenty of water points scattered around the site, with waste points at the toilet blocks.
Fifteen minute stroll into Whitby, Ideal location for exploring the North Yorks coast.
All in all a good clean site, a little regimented and open for our looking but would visit again.

We first visited the site back in April 2009 and found it to be friendly, clean and fantastic for walking into whitby.
We have since been back and stayed there for the goth weekend in November and booked another 2 stays for 2010. A fantastic site to stay at if your wanting to be close to whitby.
The showers are always hot and the toilets always clean. There is a coded electric gate as you enter so safety is good. Fish and chip van comes up some nights and again its worth trying if you cant be bothered to cook.

Just got back today from 7 nights on this site, once again cannot fault this site- grass well cut-not one piece of litter floating about-spacious- toilets immaculate, showers hot and free, what can I say -if you want to come to whitby and you need toilets, showers, and launderette then this is the site for you (10 out of 10).
Beach is 5min walk from the site
Chinese takeaway, costcutter, cafe, hairdressers, post office and vets 5-10min walk away.
Lidl, spar and fuel 5 min drive away

We first visited Sandfield House Farm in April the weekend before Easter and enjoyed The friendly welcome and great facilities so much we returned again for two weeks. It is brilliantly situated 1mile from Whitby in one direction and Sandsend in the other, so you can have quieter Sandsend or bustling Whitby.Sandfield is well laid out. A tad windy at times,so awning erection can be tricky with just two people. Beautiful location, well worth a visit.

This is an excellent site, the staff were friendly, informative and helpful. We were very grateful to them for freezing our freezer packs as we don't have an electric hookup.
Good facilities i.E. Showers, toilets, washing up and laundry all nicely kept. Doesn't have a shop but there is one within walking distance.
It's a great base for visiting Whitby, only 5 minutes walk to a huge sandy beach on which you can walk all the way to Whitby paddling as you go. If the sea is right in you can walk along the promenade.

We had a week at this lovely site, where do I start?
The site owners are friendly but not intrusive, they show you to your pitch and fill you in on local info.
There is a bus stop right outside the site or lovely walks into Whitby or Sandsend (1 mile either way) along the beach, prom, cliff top paths or via the road on footpath. The beach cafe just before you get to Sandsend is really nice.
It is five minutes to the beach straight accross the road from the site down a gentle sloping tarmac no through road, between the golf course. When the sea is out it leaves shallow pools which are a great place for kids to play.
There are several dog friendly pubs within walking distance, the White house hotel has an extensive menu at reasonable prices, steak night, quiz night etc a beer garden with sea views and the staff are very welcoming.
There are a parade of shops along the road towards Whitby with an 8 til Late, Pizza takeaway, chip shop, etc.
The facilities on site are dated but clean and were always tidy, and well stocked with paper, the showers were always hot, there is a free hairdryer to use.
I didn't use the washing/drying room but it looked clean and tidy.
I didn't see any play equipment though there is very large field with mown grass where children can play. There is another field which is used as a dog walk.
Most of the pitches are level hardstanding, surrounded by grass, they do seem to vary as to how much space you get in between each unit, we didn't put up an awning but if we had it would have been a little tight. I would advise if you have a large awning to say so on booking.
Someone mentioned in a review, the grass being cut and not picked up, yes this was the case and if wet might have been annoying, but there was always someone strimming or mowing so I would imagine it is a full time job to keep the site nice and tidy. I think a bit of loose grass a small price to pay.
You get daily visitors too! ducks freely roam around and are very tame, one day whilst sitting out we had ten all come an settle down with us in the sun, sometimes the odd chiken would come too. One pair of ducks came every evening to drink from the dogs bowl.
All in all we liked this site, mainly because of it's position, we didn't need to use the car everything we wanted was within walking distance.

This is a very well placed site for motorhomers as there are shops and places to eat within a mile ( and the fish and chips in Whitby are so good!) We were warmly greeted by the owners who showed us to a small pitch. As we were with friends it didn't really matter that we were parked so close to them but if we hadn't been, we wouldn't have liked being so close to neighbours.
We had a glimpse of sea from our pitch and we had a lovely weekend- but rather shorter than normal due to the non negotiable 'Vacate pitch by 11am'- on a Sunday.! Granted, it is a busy site and we accepted the owner's reasoning but I don't think we'll be returning. As it was , we packed and left at 10.15am, drove to the Hole of Horcum, parked up and had brunch looking out at fabulous scenery.
10 amp electric is fine for summer but might be inadequate if it gets really cold. It was nice to see hens and ducks running about the site.Took me back to the days when it really was a farm site.

We love Whitby and this site, we have visited several times now and will definitely visit again. It's well kept, spotlessly clean and within walking distance of the beach, Whitby centre and Sandsend. If the weather's iffy and you prefer to ride, there is a bus stop to Whitby by the park gates.
The staff are helpful but not intrusive. You are met and escorted to your pitch and are given information leaflets. Regarding a previous comment, this is a very busy, well run site and I can understand why they are sometimes strict about vacating the pitches on time, so that they can cut the grass etc ready for the next arrival. Perhaps they have an option to pre-book a late stay? I've just had to do that on a large site in York, though I appreciate that some smaller sites don't bother about rushing you off if they've no-one else coming on.
The site has security, with a keypad gate.
Some pitches have sea views but, being a large site which goes back from the sea, some don't. There are pubs with food within walking distance and shops a minute's drive away.
My only gripe is that this fab site is not open for the whole of the October Goth Weekend, its licence ends that weekend which means you have to leave on the Sunday morning, before the end of the events. For this occasion we have to use another site so that we can stay until Monday, which is a shame.

We have been using this site now for several years.I must say the location is perfect for Whitby.
The site is very well presented and looked after.
The staff are really friendly and happy to help.My one and only gripe is that the shower blocks are dated but they are clean.
I would highly recommend this site as its close to the beach and within walking distance of whitby.
Also would be nice to have a park for the children.
