Just got back from a 7 day camping trip at the Waveney.
What a fantastic site for kids and grown ups alike
There's so much to do staff so friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble for them, they go out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay.
Shower rooms, toilets block and the washing up room were second to none like 4* hotels rooms.
The boat hire is great with lots to choose from and the boat lad Alex is great fun and friendly.
My only little niggle and it's my only niggle was the price of a pint at the waveney was more expensive than home but it is a campsite so to be expected.
We had a fantastic stay and will be returning in the very near future with our family and friends.

What a fab site, staff lovely facilities spot on, the area is nice. Being right next to the water is great as you can watch boats go by go fishing or hire a boat yourselves. The shop is very well stocked and there are supermarkets a few miles away.
Can not fault this site, will be going back next year.
The shower and loos are spotless, the cafe does great breakfasts if you cant be bothered to cook. Pitches not to bad a size,
One thing, which has nothing to do with site, but if you smoke and step out of your van don't stand next to mine, the smoke then comes in ours.

Just back home from a 4 night stay at the above.
Just to say what a wonderful site overlooking the marina.
Swimming pool on site(you need to pay for this but you can get a family pass which makes it cheaper).
Boat, Kayak or Canoe Rental
Fantastic play area for the kids
Pub on site
Kids nature garden
Kept nice and clean with shower rooms and indoor pot washing area.
Only tents are allowed near the river front, if in a camper you'll be with the caravans.
Within a hrs reach of Southwold and Bewilderwood(this may look on the website that's its for little kiddies but its not all kids from 1 to 92 will love it)

I went to Waveney River Centre, largely as we wanted to visit the Norfolk Broads and, leaving things a little too late, they were the only ones that and pitch available for the week we wanted! It also looked very nice (obviously).
Overall, we were totally delighted with the site.
The site itself is situated on on the River Waveney and has a small marina and offers boating services (canoes, kayaks and day boats). Access-wise, it is several miles of single track road from the nearest 'proper' main road.
The toilets and shower blocks are amazing! Superbly clean, heated with running hot water - there was not one occasion when there was no hot water when having a shower.
The playground is also very good for children with a number of small children to teenagers there. We were only a few pitches away from the play area, but the on site wardens were excellent at making sure the noise stopped at the appropriate time - and also from other campers. So we actually got to sleep :-)
The on site pub does a good range of food and drinks and had entertainment on for all ages most nights.
You've really got to see it for yourself. Very family orientated - we're booking for next year.

This is a very well run, well thought out campsite, with great facilities, staff and in a fantastic area.
The reception and shop were well staffed and stocked, and the pool and cafe were great.
The playground was fantastic, and as the campsite is quite compact, it meant we could easily keep an eye on the kids, and weren't fighting for the facilities!
These guys are really into conservationalism, which was very inspirational.
The only (very slight) criticism I would make would be the opening hours of the shop/cafe/pool - if they had been open earlier, and stayed open later, it would have been handy.
Mind you, that is the only criticism I can offer - the holiday we had here was fantastic, I will definitely be going back!

Signs are everywhere at Waveney, telling you what you can and cannot do!
A very expensive commercial site geared up for families. Located in the middle of nowhere at the edge of a peninsular locked in by the river, Eddie has you captured for his financial gain.
Not a particularly good site, a mixture of very small and cramped camping pitches larger but still cramped pitches for caravans and motorhome. Luckily we visited out of season and the site was quiet. But at peak seasons could imagine it would be awful.
Well stocked but expensive shop on site, pub on site, and indoor pool (need to pay to gain access).
Fronts on to marina (also Eddie’s!) and you can hire various boats (they love you doing this at £ 100 a day!).
They also have a ferry to take you to freedom on the other side of the river at £ 3.00/pp return, for a two minute crossing - nice one!
Not at all my thing, not even with grandchildren in tow!

Had a really nice weekend at this excellent campsite. The quiet, rural setting right next to the River was perfect. The toilets and showers were amongst the best we have experienced.
The shop was really well stocked and the staff friendly and helpful at all times. We had a nice meal in the pub on site which had a good selection of entertainment on most evenings if you want that. The boat hire was great, our reason for choosing this site. Again the staff, both informative and friendly.
The information kiosk had a good selection of local places of interest. We took our bikes and would recommend cycling around the quiet country lanes that surround this site. Suggested routes are available. We did not use the swimming pool but it looked ok and the area around the cafe looked a nice place to relax.
Just a couple of minor niggles, mainly for motorhomes. We travelled with minimum water onboard. Our pitch was a 'Kingfisher' that we thought was fully serviced, unfortunately not the case with all 'Kingfisher' pitches. We had no problem filling up but we had to do so by using another pitches supply.
For a weekend it was ok but we would have felt uncomfortable encroaching again if we had stayed longer. The communal tap was not suitable as it was the push button type. Also to dispose of grey waste would have meant moving the vehicle. A portable grey waste container, might be a handy item to pack for fellow motorhome owners not wishing to move their vehicle.
However, these issues did not spoil our stay. We have already recommended this site to friends and will return ourselves.

This site has it all, my wife and I really enjoyed our 6 night stay and tried to get an extra night as we did not want to leave but our pitch was already taken.
I cannot fault anything and we loved every minute. The staff do a fantastic job at keeping everything running smoothly and to a high standard.
Day 1
We arrived, pitched our tent and went for a meal in the Waveney Inn, very nice and good value and friendly staff.
Day 2
Went to the Lowestoft airshow and in the evening watched the England game.
Day 3
Used the Waveney River Centre ferry and walked to Oulton Broad and then on to Lowestoft.
Day 4
Hired a boat from the site and visited Oulton Broad and Reedham, this made our holiday, a must do.
Day 5
We visited Great Yarmouth, had fish and chips at Harry Ramsdens and returned To Waveney River Centre late afternoon and I bought a fishing tackle set for £20 from the on site shop and maggots from the dispenser what enjoyment I had(i bought a day licence from the post office at Great Yarmouth, £3. 50)I bought some smaller hooks and began fishing, I caught Roche, Perch and Bream, The Bream only just fitted in the net. I fished till it went dark, I had'nt fished for years and now I have the bug.
Day 6
Fished till lunch and then went to the White Lion pub which did English food and Thai, we had Thai, I recommend the Thai food here, it was delicious. I then fished again till it was dark and we had a BBQ.
Day 7
We packed up and left for home with great memories of our holiday at the Waveney River Centre. We will be back, Do yourself and family a favour and book, you can thank me after your return.

Just returned from a very wet and windy weekend camping on this site and even though we did get very wet, we didn't want to go home. The site is immaculately kept, the pitches are well marked out. The playground was a big hit with my two year old. Watching all the boats coming and going in the marina from the tent door was lovely.
The toilet blocks and washing up facilities were all kept very clean and having a complete bathroom was absolute luxury.
We didn't make use of the swimming pool but did have coffee in the poolside cafe and the person serving came over and switched the tele over to Cbeebies for my little one. Nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were very friendly.
Will definitely be returning to this site later this year and would highly recommend it.

Just returned from this site after a 8 night stay. This is an ideal site for families or couples. There is a great playground for kids and a fantastic pool complex (the water was lovely and warm). Would recommend you buy a weekly pool pass if staying for more than a weekend as it can be expensive. There is also a nice cafe in the pool area which serves hot / cold snacks and full breakfasts.
If you like boating this is an ideal site as you look out onto a Marina. Reasonable boat hire prices meant a great day out up the river - just over an hour to Beccles - lovely little town, with local moorings. Recommend Twyfords coffee shop for tasty cakes !
Pub on site was ok, with a small arcade for kids with pool table etc.
Shower block, toilets, washing up facilities - all clean and modern. Well stocked shop and really friendly staff made this site an instant favourite with us and we shall definitely return.
Recommend this site Highly.
