We had a great time here, met some great people enjoyed the fishing (I've never fished, ) had a windy time trying to canoe on the broads, hard work
Good play area which is very close to some units, but good if you have small children, the parking is not on your pitch but the car park is just there, however I understand they have since altered the pitch arrangements.
The swimming pool had to be paid for extra, and cost us a lot, as the kids wanted to go quite often (13 and 5), the site is very much out in the sticks, you have no choice but to drive, the shop is well stocked and we did use it.
We didn't like the toilet shower arrangement and at times they did smell, you sort of get a bathroom to yourself, so a room with a shower, toilet and sink, on occasion you may just be waiting to use a toilet, I don't think it's the best arrangement. We tended to shower in the early evening to avoid the rush, but they were not dirty.
The pub on site is owned and run separately to the site, and it showed, it really needs some tlc and the staff were not to our taste, we ate there and were not impressed by the language and conversation of the bar staff.
The site is based near water, so bare this in mind if you have young children, we enjoyed watching the new boats come and go
We probably wouldn't go here again to out in the sticks for us, but a great small site.
Norfolk was really nice, south would is well worth a visit, go to the alternative arcade on the pier. Really good.

Lovely camp site with fantastic facilities the individual shower rooms are great as they come with hairdryer, sink, toilet as one, the on site shop is well equipped and there is a pub with arcade room, pool table etc great for kids!
There are also plenty of activities such as walking, biking and hiring a boat! We hired a canoe for the day and with the right weather this makes for a lovely peaceful day and the chance to see lots of wildlife!
The only drawback for us was that it was a little bit noisy, the tent pitches are quite close together so not much escape from the noise! This site is perfect for family's with children but not so much if your looking for some peace and quiet, best then to go out of school holiday time. All in all we would use it again but maybe avoid peak times.

This is our 3rd visit; but first under canvas. This is a lovely family site, the pitches are on the whole level and the shower blocks are second to none.
The indoor pool is on the small size, so can feel a bit crowded, but is is none the less a lovely pool! Day boats and canoes are available to hire direct on the site, and there is fishing also available. The largest fish we caught was a bream, around 8lb in weight; plenty of perch and roach to be had as well.
There is the Waveney Inn on site, which serves good 'pub grub', also the supermarket on site is very well stocked - albeit a bit pricey. However there are 2 large supermarkets nearby in Beccles.
The staff are very friendly, and are so helpful - we managed to leave our gas bottle regulator at home and they managed to get one for us within a day on a Sunday, so we have nothing but praise for them.
The small marina is always a hive of activity and you can spend hours just watching what goes on.
There is a lot to do in and around the area, Oulton Broad is always busy, Somerleyton Hall and maze, Africa alive, and if you feel like a blood pumping ride, then you can brave the 30 minute fast Sea Rib ride out of Southwold Harbour.
A bit further away is Cromer where you can take boat trips to see the grey Seals. We love the site and the whole area, and will be going back and would recommend it without hesitation.

Stayed here quite a few times as its local to us. Off the beaten track and at the end you find this wonderful site with lots to do or not if you wish not too. We took our bikes and were given leaflets on cycle rides to do.
Shop on site with everything you could possibly need for a lengthy stay instead of travelling the distance to the nearest s/market miles away.
We didn't hire a boat this time but we have in the past and its great to get out on the Broads and discover what you wouldn't usually see if on site. Best to pre book.
The site is an eco friendly one so no fires or chinese lanterns are allowed which is understandably.
Toilet blocks/showers are to die for with underfloor heating, hairdryers and lots of hot water, luxury especially when its cold outside.
The swimming pool is an added bonus and the kids loved it, along with the play area. Lovely walks around the area. Waveney Inn serves good, reasonably priced food and the landlord and lady are great hosts.
There are also Lodges available to rent and they looked lovely and luxurious when we peeped in the windows.
All the staff we came across were all very helpful and nothing was too much trouble even when we had to leave after an hour when our daughter took ill. Rang them next day and staff said no worries just book again with out extra cost.
Definitely we will be back later in the year for our 5th visit.

Loved it here, lovely big playground next to washing up facilities and toilets. Hired out a large canoe for the morning -for 2 adults and 2 children - not really seen on their website, but it pays to ask! Worth knowing, swimming for 2 adults and 2 children is £12. 50, but a day pass is £10 for a family so if it does get busy you can go back in later !
We visited Gorleston beach as its easy to get to with loads of free parking and a small parade of shops and toilets it is lifeguarded at one end - the safe sandy end, I believe the other end can be quite dangerous.
Also visited the big park at Oulton Broad on the outskirts of Lowestoft which has refreshments, tennis couts, bowls, swings and is right next to the water.
North over the bridge towards yarmouth is a great little old pub by the river -stopped here for food and was fantastic.

Stayed for a week in july/august
we booked a kingfisher pitch with water hook up and all the services, super pitch 9x9 mts. well the pitch was too small and our 590 caravan would block the entrance to other pitches behind the swimming complex
the staff did change our pitch with some reluctance but it was not a super pitch and no refund was offered
the lux showers were ok but with no separate toilets their was problems with the amount of people booked on the site
the staff were very friendly and helpful well stocked shop and the site was clean and cleaned regularly hiring a boat was easy and fishing was ok too
We would not use this site again but that's our choice as we use different sites each year and would recommend others to try it but don't be to picky

All members of the Waveney team were helpful and friendly. Most importantly they wanted to help and make our stay in Norfolk a good one. The campsite was perfect in condition and location; the bathroom facilities were top class.
We had a good meal and a fun evening at the Inn; we were made to feel very welcome by the Landlord and Lady.
Hired a day boat to see the Broads, Marina staff were very patient with us novices, and we had a great time cruising.
The centre has the facilities of a big campsite but is only medium in size, and so is friendly and relaxed. The effort made by the owners and staff is noticeable everywhere you look.
The waterside setting is very picturesque, especially with all the wildlife. We tend not to revisit campsites due all the choice out there, but I think this site will be the exemption to our rule

This is the best medium sized camp site we have ever visited. The staff are always polite, helpful, friendly and work hard to ensure that everything is kept clean and to the highest standard.
The rural setting right on the river with a small Marina is great for relaxing and watching the comings and goings of the various Broads boats. Tent pitches are good sized and if you book early you can chose to have an interrupted view of the Marina. There is a play area which seemed to delight the children from both the site and boats.
The shower block is incredible. Individual small rooms with wet area, toilet and hand basin - both hand and hair dryers 'free'! There is even underfloor heating in each unit. It's the sort of en suite I dream of at home!
Shop stock all the basics you need at prices you can afford! For us oldies (both nearing 70) having an indoor medium sized heated pool was the icing on the cake. It also has good changing area and a Cafe attached.
The Waveney Inn Pub right next door is open as is the site all year round. We enjoyed some very good meals there. The weather overall was rather 'iffy' with Thunder Storms, high winds and brill sunshine!
We are definitely going to book early for next year. One big thank you to the owners was that having booked and paid well in advance, my Mother died and we had to ask to change dates. They were so helpful and did not charge us a penny to alter the booking. Highly recommended from us for all ages.
One thing to pass on: the roads in the area are very narrow and the site has route well signposted using roads with plenty of passing places. Please follow their signs and not your Sat Nav's and you will avoid coming head to head with say a caravan going in the other direction.

Waveney River Centre Campsite is one that we will definitely return to again.
The location is very beautiful and looks just as good as the website shows. Our pitch had views across the marina and was adjacent to the children's play area which was a great advantage as we have 2 little boys. (aged 7 and 4).
The indoor pool was fantastic. We visited Waveney river centre over the May bank holiday and the pool was never crowded when we went. It was very clean and warm enough.
The kids loved walking down by the Marina and looking at the boats. We hired a nice boat for half a day which wasn't cheap but was great fun for all the family.
The pub on site was well used. We ate in there 2 or 3 times and the food was average at best but friendly service and convenience made this a well used facility.
There is also a shop on site that sells everything that you might need.
The children's park was also well used but was rarely crowded.
The atmosphere on the park was fabulous especially in the evenings as there were lots of tents having bbq's which added to the atmosphere.
The only drawback to the site is the limited facilities in the village of Blythe st peter. Whilst it is within easy driving distance of Beccles and the norfolk coast it would have been nice to have a few pubs or restaurants within walking distance.
The pitch we had was on a steep slope in a row of 3 so it was quite private and even though it wasn't very big the vast playing area in front of it made it feel spacious.
I can strongly recommend this campsite to any young families looking for a chilled out family weekend away. A week would probably be to long here.

Overall we really enjoyed our visit to this site. Showers and toilets were excellent and kept clean even though it was a busy bank holiday weekend. Others have mentioned the sloping pitches but we did not find this a significant problem.
Our pitch had a tree in it which made it a little awkward to pitch the tent and park within the pitch boundaries. Given the option go for the pitches nearest the river on flat ground and with more space.
Our son (6) really enjoyed to pool, although at £6.80 for child and 1 parent it seemed a little expensive considering there was no lifeguard on duty.
The shop was well stocked with the exception of fresh fruit and veg and swimming paraphernalia (arm bands, goggle etc.).
We did not use the pub but it looked clean and well kept. Likewise the launderette.
If you intend to hire a boat during your stay we would recommend booking in advance and if you have dogs make arrangements for them to be looked after or be prepared for the most basic boat.
On the subject of dogs - ours loved it. The site is dog friendly and there are some good walks nearby.
We would happily recommend this site and may well return for a longer stay at some point.
