We enjoyed a weekend stay here at the end of June.
The location was fabulous. It was great to watch the boats go by from our motorhome.
Generally we were very happy on our stay at this site- but there were just a couple of points we felt should be mentioned.
Firstly- we arrived at 7pm on Friday evening and had minimal water in our tank. We were told the water tap was on the side of the facility block. We managed to get up the tap but it was a push down tap and didn't have a thread to attached our hose to. After a bit of tooing and froing we ended up having to ask a fellow camper if we would be able to use the tap on their fully serviced pitch.
We actually were expecting our pitch to be serviced, and we felt quite awkward having to ask someone if we could fill from their pitch. Luckily they were very helpful and we had a long enough hose to reach without them having to move their van!
Secondly, I have to say, it was one of the most nosy sites we have stayed on. There are lots of rules in place on the site 'no noise after 9pm' was the main one.
Unfortunately on the nights we stayed there were lots of unaccompanied dogs on different pitches that were barking. On one night it was well after midnight when its owner finally stopped it barking. The mornings also were very noisy- we were woken up at 6am on all 3 mornings by the noise from the family next door.
This wasn't so much the sites fault, more of inconsiderate campers I'm afraid.
The facilities were second to none, and we had a great time hiring one of the boats for the day. We would return, but would a) make sure we take water with us in our tank and b)perhaps take some ear plugs.

Just returned from our second visit to this wonderful site, the first one being last October, I thought the site was nice last year but it just keeps improving, we cannot wait to return.
New toilet facilities which were very clean as was the bathroom block.
Work that has been done creating new pitches looks wonderful and the improved caravan access area is helpful but not quite big enough to stop the vehicles cutting up the grass when moving the caravans onto their pitches, which is a shame as the site is so tidy its awful to make any mess.
Beautiful, scenic site, our caravan was in Kingfisher sitting at the top of the hill overlooking the boats (though this view is slightly restricted when there are a lot of tents). Site never feels noisy, busy or cramped even when full as it is so well laid out.
Kids loved the swimming pool but I found the chemicals a bit too harsh and the pool wasn't particularly clean.
Large children's play area with more that enough to keep kids amused even when the site was busy.
Pub is perfect for a drink or meal, nothing fancy just good pub grub and the staff are friendly and welcoming and good with the children.
Good sized shop with everything you would need, very helpful staff in Reception.
Road to and from the site is a little scary when towing as we have a big unit and a long van and the passing bays would not be big enough for anything to pass us and the roads are far too narrow to reverse up.
Perfect location for a holiday but we didn't really want to leave the site.

Fantastic site, right on the river, with some great views.
It was a last minute choice to go here and I just turned up without booking, upon arrival the shop was shut, but I guess to be expected 2 days after new year. However the Harbour master was on site and was very helpful.
Told to park where I liked as there was only 2 other people on site.
The site was undergoing some work, so there was quite a bit of mud in the top field, but lets face it January is probably the best of time to do the work, as its least likely to affect others.
The toilets were as already mentioned fantastic, lovely and warm, plenty of hot water and spotlessly clean. Each room has its own toilet, shower and sink. You couldn't ask for more.
Phone signal good, and so was Tv reception.
I'll look forward to visiting again in the summer

First, may I say thanks to Allen the harbour master, come site manager for helping us out on a lot of occasions.
I will say the positives first great location great view of the river great showers and pool well stocked shop. All sound great so far
On arrival we found that the field was quite muddy. There was work ongoing not as described on the phone workmen arrived at 08. 00 every day except xmas day and boxing day, once on site power tools were used from 08. 00 with the radio going , also vans going back and forth did not help with the mud.
The staff then shut for 5 days and we were left with just Allen. No toilet cleaning which the workmen were also using, so by the end of the holiday only 3 of the toilets were still open not the seven or eight that they have, but the site was full.
We had continuous trips on the caravan electrics, but what made it worse was that it bypassed the fuse board in the stand outside our van, and tripped inside the pool plant room so we had to keep phoning poor Allen to come out and fix it. Really really a pain not what you want with the mud all around
The site are spending a lot of money on new tent pitches and washing up etc which is the main reason for all the mud. If you ask me to be honest the owner should have shut the site while the worst work was done and not expect people to try to walk around in the dark.
Also the main entrance light was not working.
Its always hard to moan when there are so many positives here on this site but they should have shut or warned me that there was a lot of mud and only 3 toilets open which were shared with builders

Spent a gloriously quiet week here. Facilities are excellent, pitches are level and quite spacious. Very quiet while we were there, but thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a fair distance along single track roads, but taken steadilly caused no problems at all.
20 minutes from Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft with fab beaches and some amazing little coastal towns not too far away either.
It is without doubt the most relaxing week I have spent in Vera Van. Right alongside the broads, took a boat for a day and kayaked other times.

Have just returned from this exceptional site after an enjoyable 5 days. The peace and tranquillity were a bonus.
We ate at the pub every night and visited for a couple of drinks some lunchtimes, average pub grub but most enjoyable - the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
Same with the cafe - no need to cook your own breakfast!
Bit disappointed that the swimming pool wasn't included in the site fee so didn't use it.
The access road was a bit hairy, on tenterhooks that you don't meet any oncoming traffic!
Had an enjoyable day on the Broads, but as novices we didn't know where we could moor.
My husband fished a couple of times but didn't catch much!
The whole site dog friendly, even the pub, which pleased our friends immensely, they go nowhere without the Jack Russell!
Toilets and showers amazing, and all amenities within 2 minutes walking distance, the shop wonderful for everything you may need including morning papers.
We will certainly be returning to this site, highly recommended.

We visited with a 7 year old, and two teenagers. This is one of the best sites we've been to. We had electric hook-up you need a long cable as 4 pitches share 1 electric hook-up point, but you can loan one from the reception.
We found the park excellent even though the weather wasn't. Our 7 year old was happy to play all day and made lots of friends. The pool facilities are good and the takeaway from the pool cafe was great, kids loved the fresh chips.
The toilets up at the pool were cleaned regularly, the only complaint is that the step into the mens toilets is very high. The washing facilities were fine although the water pressure was a little low at times.
The pub is very nice, family run and welcoming. The meals were homemade and portions generous. There is an amusement arcade located in the pub complex which our kids loved.
The pub also has different entertainment on each night such as a quiz, singers, pool competition, karaoke. The site has individual wet/shower rooms with secure entry, the wet rooms were very busy in the mornings as they are also used by the people mooring up on cruisers overnight as well as campers.
The mariners stores had all the basics. The staff in and around the site are very helpful and friendly, the harbour master was exceptionally nice.
There is enough to occupy families on site that you really don't need to leave, when the weather is nice you really don't want to go anywhere else. Beccles, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth are within an easy drive. Beccles is a lovely market town with a Tesco's and Morrisons.
We hired a boat for the day and the enjoyed the adventure, you can also hire rowing boats and canoes. It's a very pretty site and you can sit by the river watching the world go by relaxing and enjoying the lovely countryside.

Our first visit here and really enjoyed it, nice clean site, lovely shower/toilet blocks. Has a very handy shop and indoor swimming pool and a pub.
Only stayed here 2 nights and could of stayed even longer despite the bad weather but my son had a football match to play at home, my daughter cried because she didn't want to go!
There's a room by the shower block that I found by accident, a kind of utility room where you can do your ironing and a tumble dryer, didn't see a washer though and there was places to sit, leaflets on places to visit and a hot drinks machine,
I thought this was a good idea even if you were just waiting to use the shower not that we ever had to wait but then again the summers nearly over.
Loved the strange little Church just off the site and we had to go and investigate it, we called it the Wedding Cake Church and when you see it you'll know why.
We took our Dog Smithy, it was his first time ever camping and he absolutely loved it! made lots of new friends too! Our kids spent hours fishing off the side of the marina and caught a few big ones!
We all enjoyed it very much and will definitely be coming back but this time for a bit longer!

The booking system was fantastic, the staff were amazingly friendly and received emails back on confirmation nothing was too much trouble you can book a boat in advance too with them as it does get busy.
The road in was a bit of tricky single track most of the way down with passing points, but you got used to it.
The site was exceptionally clean, huge shop that stocked everything, lovely pub with friendly staff, entertainment of some kind on most nights. We just stopped for beer o'clock about 3pm most days. We had a baby 5 year old and large dog, there was facilities for everyone.
The dog walk in the morning was lovely looked across the marshes. The only point at the moment you can't really explore much from the site you can't walk up the single track road with a dog and buggy and there is not much to see. But they are hopefully putting in a ferry crossing next year with a 20 min walk to Oulton Broads and 10 mins to the railway station which will be fab.
Only dissappointing point we were close to the play park fab all day for my 5 year old, but became a hang out for teenagers after 9pm kids tended to shout etc. , and camping you tend to go to bed early and get up early. But the harbour master does do a check round every night.
Swimming pool was lovely, and the cafe on site had excellent breakfasts! Showers were amazing. Everyone was very accommodating. A lovely site with lots of places to see. A great stay got my husband back into camping!

We have been coming here for a week every year since 2007. It is the best place we have camped.
The surroundings are beautiful and the facilities very good.
Get a swimming pass to allow you to go everyday any time for 3 days its a lot cheaper than paying daily!
The fact that you can pay monthly is a bonus now for your holiday.
The staff are very good and lots of things to do around camp and surrounding areas.
We are going there in 3 weeks with the addition of 2 new pups cant wait for the leisurely walks ahead.
With Lowestoft being close and supermarkets too you can stock up. The camp shop is very good but some things are expensive.
