What a brilliant site & will highly recommend it to every camper I know. The only part I didn't like is the unisex toilets & their was a few young & older adults smoking in there which was unpleasant never mind the fact against the law now. Cant wait to go back again next year & am sure every year after for years. Weather not grand but still managed to visit many places especially the mabie farm . Wow not that was the best place my kids have visited for a long time & well worth the £18.00 we paid in. What more can I say that no body else has????? fab, fab & fab. Well done brighouse a beautiful place, one of the very best.

Excellent site, large pitches and clean facilities. Lots for kids to do, site fees a bit higher than average but on site fees for activities very reasonable. Great access to beach. Avoid pitch 28 as access is difficult due to gradient all others looked easily accessible. Good shop again with reasonable prices. Pool good for young children but not very big, take your own inflatables. Good food and bar with prices as expected. Overall well recommended.

A large site which is at the end of the road so inconvenient for visiting other attractions. It's had good reviews but that was not our experience. Our pitch was so small we had no room to put up the awning and despite notices warning noisy customers that they would be made to leave, the noise (long into the night) was appalling- particularly from our drunken neighbours and their family and dog. It was so bad we complained but no attempt was made to make the noisy ones leave. It continued so my brother in a tent left early. Despite many attempts to resolve the matter the manager has failed to respond to our complaints. Never again!

What a brilliant site. If you have a family you cannot get bored here. Play areas, good shop, the beach is only 100 yards away. Fishing on site, golf, putting, there's loads to do. The service at the cafe next to the indoor pool ( extra charge ) could have been a lot better, but overall a great site, good pitches, and very clean and very good standard toilet blocks. We will be returning to this site !

We loved this site. Went on a Bank Holiday weekend and still felt there was plenty of room. We were sited near Kids play area - which our kids, and our friend's' kids loved ( 13, 12, 11 and 7). Not sure I would have been happy if I had been sited right on the kid's play area as some units were as kids kicking balls hard near tents/vans could be an issue. Swimming pool and gym both great, though carry an extra charge. Bar OK (Not overpriced) and meals looked excellent. Washing/showers excellent but toilets could have done with perhaps just 1 more clean each afternoon. Staff very friendly - only worry was that when out 13 yr old hurt his leg and I asked if they had a crepe or support bandage in the first aid kid - even offered to buy it - nobody on Reception could locate the kit! perhaps in an emergency they would have phoned someone but it is a slight concern. We would return.

What a lovely Camp Site. Visited in the Easter Hols with 4kids in tow! Showers are lovely and Hot and there was never a queue. Toilets were clean. Nice kids play area. To say it was Easter Hols it wasn't over busy although it is a very big site.
Lovely big spacious camping areas all divided up with hedges and trees. We were told to pitch the tent anywhere we liked on the given stretches of grass.B rilliant acess to the rockpools straight from the site - spent loads of time collecting sea creatures with the kids. Only a couple of minutes walk through a nice wooded area. The beach is lovely and very quiet.
The 2 teenagers were moaning that Vodafone didn't work so they couldn't text their mates! O2 worked well though!
The site has a Club House and games room . We never bothered with it as we were too tired with all the fresh air to move from our chairs! The kids used the games room and said it was good.
Was a very peacefull quiet site apart from the mad squakings of a peacock(thats what we think it was!),In the early hours! Never saw it but it didn't half time its outbursts in the night!
Theres a well stocked shop on site but my partner used to drive the 20 mins into Kirkcudbright for sausage and bacon from the local butcher!Delicious!
Make sure you visit the "Cream o Galloway" it's only 20mins drive away and the ice cream is to die for! They also have a good 3D Maze for kids(&any adults brave enough!)I went in it with my 5yr old, who proceeded to make me crawl through pipes n climb ropes etc! Was good fun! They have a beautiful nature walk here as well.
Only had 1bad night on site - which involved gangs of teenagers drinking and shouting bad language from 10.30 - 1am. (Hmmm.makes you wonder where the parents are?) My partner followed some to the toilet at 1am and caught them banging the toilet doors really hard so they made loads of noise. He told them off and they dispersed after that!(He was not a happy chap!) Apparently theres supposed to be a site warden on the site and its supposed to be relatively quiet after 10.30pm. But glad to say this was just a one off and the rest of our stay was very peacefull (apart from the peacock!)
Yes I would stay here again!(with my ear plugs!)

Just returned from our third visit to this site. It is a great favorite with the grandchildren. Always found the staff at reception to be very helpful and pleasant. The tv reception is poor and this time found ourselves on a pitch with an aerial socket on the bollard which provided us with an excellent picture until some mindless children vandalized the sky dish obviously no fault of the sites. Good walking on the area. Can recommend fish and chips in Kircudbright. Scenery beautiful with a lovely bay and beach adjacent to site. Toilet and shower facilities excellent have never had to queue for shower and we have always visited during school holidays. Play area good for children all ages and a good grassed area for ball games. We use the swimming pool at the club house where we have also used the golf course which is popular with the older grandchildren. This site is popular for people with boats as there is a launching area. I think it is a popular site which caters for a wide range of interests and will be visiting again.

This is the nicest campsite i`ve stayed on. Only 5 minutes walk to a lovely secluded beach. There`s an excellent play area for the kids, which we were camped next to, so no worries about them being out of sight. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and we can`t wait to go back for a longer stay next year. The only downside was the tv reception was non existent, and there was no mobile signal either, but I think you can book tv booster equiptment. My son really enjoyed the quad bike riding, it made his holiday! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and i`d thoroughly recommend this site to anyone.

Just spend a week at Brighouse Bay, excellent site with loads to do, fishing, pony trekking, lovely indoor pool, golf, Quad bikes (kids, 8 and 9 years, were disappointed as height restriction excluded them from this). Fantastic play area, short walk through woods to lovely beach with sand and rock pools. Toilets - clean, showers - warm and powerful. On site club offered good food at restaurant prices. Pitches very large and mostly level. Very large site but due to the layout still felt secure and personal. Huge statics area but separate from touring pitches. Visited the last week in August when the local school term had started so not too busy but imagine facilities would be extremely stretched when site full. We all had a wonderful time and the kids loved it, would definitely recommend. One of the best sites we've ever visited!

Pleasant site, much bigger than I expected. Enjoyed the trekking. Hubby was able to play a few games of golf. In future we will request to be away from play area. Unisex shower block, great except for kids using it as a playground and were able to open doors from the outside. Well stocked shop.
