As a camping novice, I didn't know what to expect and on entering the park the initial impression was very good. There were huge trees which gave it a woodland feel and you felt as if you were somewhere special.
As we arrived after 6pm, the reception was closed and our name was missing off the board for late arrivals. Despite the short panic, out of nowhere a rep appeared who gladly helped us and took us around the park so we could choose our own pitch. We settled for a pitch in the Old Orchard, which although is a family area, it felt very quire and secluded, as there was only one other couple there.
On the second day the other couple had left, which meant we had the whole area to ourselves. Our pitch was awesome (94), it was only a short walk to the shower / toilet facilities, which were in excellent condition.
On-site facilities were awesome, including the crazy golf, pool table at Sue's Cafe and the play area, which is even cool for adults! No complaints and I would recommend this places to anyone, as it is quite tranquil with a nice warm atmosphere!

Fantastic site! Only problem is how will any other sites measure up from now on!
I had tried 3 times before to get a pitch on this site but it was always full as it’s so popular. We decided to go outside of the school holidays so we were able to get in this time.
We stayed 4 nights on this great site, 2 adults and 2 children aged 2 and 7 months. On arrival the staff were friendly and helpful and showed us to our pitch. When I booked I had asked to be close to the amenities due to having small children and they had done this for us.
We were given a welcome pack with details of where to go and what to do in the area, cycling information and info on the cafe on site.
Pitches are nice and large and many are very unique with some being tucked away and private and some being right in the open depending on what you like.
The site itself is beautifully maintained and set in lots of different areas. We were in South Park which is a family oriented area. You are pitched around the perimeter therefore leaving a lovely large open area in the middle where kids can play safely. They could pack A LOT more units in to the site but they don’t as they want to maintain the lovely open feeling.
The showers and toilets are spacious and clean. There are 3 blocks around the site which are all within easy walking distance. One of them also has a family room with a bath and they even include a non slip mat for the bath which we found very useful with a baby.
Large sinks and draining area for washing up.
The cafe on site bakes bread and pastries every day and you can even place an order the night before for what you would like and collect it nice and hot when they open in the morning.
There is a small swimming pool with separate paddling pool that is solar heated. It was 24degrees when we were there but we didn’t use it.
There is a park for children which my little boy enjoyed. They also have a sand pit with buckets and spades provided and mini gold by the cafe.
There is a pub which serves food which looks as immaculate as the rest of the site but we didn’t use this.
You see a variety of wildlife milling around the place and there is a rather noisy peacock there but he didn’t bother us, it was quite funny hearing him squawking. Luckily he is quiet at night.
The site is really peaceful and quiet at night, just the sound of wildlife.
It was quiet when we there but it gets packed in the holidays as I cannot get a pitch for love nor money in the summer.
Will definitely be back here as it’s so close to Great Yarmouth and the lovely beach at Hemsby. Can't recommend it highly enough.

My wife and I are newcomers to the camping world, this trip being only our second outing! We travelled from york on the sunday and half way there it started pouring with rain so we booked into a hotel for the first night. We arrived at clippesby hall about 12ish midday and the lady at reception kindly told us we could walk round to choose our pitch and then return to her to be booked in, we chose a lovely pitch in the pinewoods, with electric hookup, there was plenty of room between pitches. The toilets and showers were excellent always very clean, the washing up area is a good place to get talking to people. We spent a couple of evenings in the bar which is very nicely set out. The peacocks were on the go from 4 am to about 9 pm or when daylight began to fade, but we got used to hearing them and found it quite interesting listening to the different noises they could make. We will definitely be returning again in the future! It was well worth the 5 hour journey to get there.

We're just back from a 3 night trial run in our new tent. The welcome was friendly, and the pitch size was large (it easily accommodated our 4m bell tent, pagoda and car). We had been allocated our 'second choice' (we booked online), which was fine, although it would have helped prepare the boy camper if we had known this in advance (he was looking forward to camping next to the football pitch!).
As others have mentioned, the facilities were good - clean loos and showers, lovely hot water, and a picturesque, well maintained site. The downside? Although this was a lovely site, I find it hard to believe that it is truly the best in the UK (although it has won this prestigious title for the last couple of years), and we were expecting more character - the site seemed lacking in personality and a bit sterile.
We didn't get to use the swimming pool as we were wet enough, but I imagine this is a hub of activity on sunny days. The mini golf was a little overpriced, and the cafe was expensive, although handy for wet weather days. In contrast the bar food seemed better value (large portions!).
The only other thing to mention is the fantastically exotic dawn chorus. A handful of peacocks strut around the site, friendly and pretty to look at, they are also wonderful mimics and very, very loud. Earplugs are a must if you are a light sleeper!

Great site. Lovely grassy pitches. No statics. Fresh bread and pastries can be ordered for the morning. Well placed for Broads and Norfolk Coast. Despite being full, very quiet at night as areas divided by trees. Only down side, is perhaps a lot of pitches in the shade, great if it's hot, not so good if it's cold. You need to book very early for weekends and school holidays. Definitely highly recommend to those new to camping wanting a safe option.

Couldn't wait to visit this site after reading such fantastic reviews - and agree with most of them! The site is beautifuly located in a wonderfully rural environment and yet within a few minutes drive from shops, pubs, boat-hire etc.
There are a variety of camping areas, laid out either on open grass or hidden in corners among the trees. Pitches are really generous in size, some are almost idyllic. All staff - and there are plenty of them in uniform T-shirts - are charming and helpful and the whole site is kept immaculately. On the downside, the ladies toilet facilities, with a basin in each lavatory cubicle, are really badly planned: mums, teenagers and kids - often all in together - took ages, with lots waiting just for a quick pee! Also, felt a bit strange following someone into the loo and cleaning teeth in there.
The swimming pool is lovely but with all the acres of space the site has it is small and was very crowded when we visited this Whitsun half-term. Likewise the pub (lovely food by the way)had a really tiny outside space, whilst the adjacent carpark was empty and had fabulous views - a real waste of space. Overall a lovely site though with loads of space and privacy - just take your own loo ladies.

After reading all the reviews we booked this campsite several months in advance. Despite being a lovely campsite there are a few points I feel I should mention. We arrived at 5.15 as traffic was bad on the way, the reception shuts at 5pm and there was no staff to be seen anywhere. We could not find an electric point anywhere near our allocated pitch (which we needed to blow our beds up for the night so walked all round the site to try to find someone to help - (a contact phone number would be useful on the door), very frustrating with 3 children after a four hour journey! The arrival times are quite strict with a 3 hour slot so try to arrive during that time if you can otherwise you are on your own! I wasn't over keen on our pitch as we were near the road and with a toddler just couldn't relax as he kept wandering, an open pitch would be much better if you have little ones so worth mentioning when you book. We also heard road noise which kept us awake.
The site itself is really beautiful, the setting is very pleasant. I would probably go again but I felt it was very expensive at £34 a night compared to other similar sites we have been to. Visited Bewilderwood when we were there which is a must if you have children. Kids loved it (aged 14, 11 and 1.5) there is even a zip wire for babies!

Normally I stay on farm campsites but reviews won me over. I booked painlessly online a few weeks beforehand. The Thursday night was quiet but much much busier at the weekend.
So I was a little reticent about such a large, organised site but it didn't take long after arriving for that all to disappear. The team were really friendly and I got straight off to my pitch in the Dell. With the planting and the winding track you can't tell if you are on a site of ten pitches or a hundred. You don't have to see all the facilities if you don't want to.
Advantages are that the loo blocks are plentiful and clean, the cafe is great for a lazy breakfast and there's a great range of supplies in the little shop as well as onsite cycle hire and a great little pub with good food, plenty of vegetarian choices, reasonable prices, great puddings and local drink.
There's lots to do in the surrounding area with leaflets at reception, a great welcome pack and friendly staff if you are stuck for ideas. It's beautiful countryside with wildlife falling out all over you: in the fields nearby I saw hares, a barn owl and a stoat. Not to mention the resident bunnies and peacocks.
Small concerns are the noise of the road discernible through the night in a tent and that some might find the price a bit much, though I found it worth it and have recommended the site for trips to that area and will definitely be returning myself.

We chose Clippesby Hall for our first outing in our new (old) campervan, and were pleased we did. Staff were friendly and helpful and offered us a choice of pitches amongst the trees. The mature woodland setting gives a secluded feel and breaks the site up attractively into different areas.
We were there the weekend after the early May Bank Holiday, so the site was nice and quiet, but even at busy times I imagine the layout means you still don't feel cramped.
Facilities are very good. Toilets and showers were clean and warm, with plenty of hot water. Rubbish recycling is well ordered and thorough. We ate one night at the on site pub - decent food and reasonable value. Mini golf, tennis and badminton courts, open play areas are all there for people that want them, but away from the quieter pitches, so you're not disturbed. (Bit too chilly when we were there to use the pool!)
Surrounding area is pleasant countryside with good roads, interesting villages, several waterside pubs. Easy access to the coast. Lovely beach at Sea Palling. Campsite reception has lots of information about the area.
We'd definitely choose this site again.

Was not disappointed at all! This site is exactly what it says on the tin; lovely different pitch areas, great shower & toilet / cleaning facilities and impressed with the cleanliness of the facilities and rubbish / recycling options.
Different areas for you to choose between, we went on pitch 61 in the Dell, mostly shaded and felt in a little forest of our own, the sun did come out a few times and shone through but if you want sun (if it is forecast!). If you want a quieter area choose the Heath - having said that, all areas looked great, no matter what you mode of sleep was. At one point we were the only on site bar one motorhome but then it was not school holidays. Seemed to have a few things to keep children occupied, can imagine a completely different atmosphere when full of children playing. We went to the on site pub on the 1st night and the food was good quality, what you would expect to pay and served a good pint. The little shop and tea room where cute, we ordered croissants and collected still hot at 9am, complete with newspapers.
Locally we took a few trips out to the broads and the coastline but this site you can do either, sit and watch the world go by or trot off out to local attractions.
I have to go back and talk about the shower block; I don't think I would ever see such cleanliness in a posh pub!; camping as a young kid I remember the showers and toilet trips were never enjoyable, this was a treat, the showers are hot and ample, the private cleaning cubicles are a great idea and it is all fully heated which we appreciated so could dry our towels briefly as we had rain each day and one night - I was sometimes gone for so long in the shower block as I was enjoying that my OH nearly came to look for me! We stayed for 4 nights but didn't want to come home!
The site is ideal for any mode of sleep, couples or families, the laundry facilities looked great although didn't use them, the large freezer for ice blocks was appreciated (free).
