Just spent a fantastic 5 days on this wonderful site. It was over the weekend when they had the music festival. The setting, the weather and the event was just fabulous.
We arrived on the Thursday and had a good sized, fairly level corner all weather pitch with power on The Heath. Although surrounded pretty much by huge pine trees we got the sun from 10 in the morning until 8 in the evening - and boy did we get sunshine, the weather could not have been kinder.
The music festival was an added bonus with some great local talent. The festival was held in the walled garden area by the pool and pub, an absolutely beautiful setting for the event. It was far enough away from the pitches so if you wanted some peace and quiet you just needed to go back to your tent and you couldn't hear a thing, certainly from our pitch anyway.
All of the staff on this site have to be commended but one guy in particular was every where (think he may have been the manager). He was serving food, collecting glasses moving chairs & tables around, introducing the bands and even playing drums at one stage. He just didn't stop and was ever present during our stay.
The site is very well kept and has all the facilities you can think of - from pitch & putt to cycle hire, tennis court to swimming pool. We didn't have children with us but the play facilities for them looked superb. Although it's surrounded by beautiful countryside and ideally situated for touring the Norfolk Broads, if you simply wanted a quiet break you wouldn't need to leave the site as it was a joy just exploring it and watching the birds.
The site covers a large area but has been very well thought out with several different areas to choose to pitch your unit. On the Heath where we were the shower facilities were very close by and always in immaculate condition as were the washing up facilities, which although open to the elements were well sheltered.
All in all we had a fantastic time and are already planning a return visit for the festival next year. So thanks again to all the team at Clippesby, your hard work was really appreciated.

Me and hubby decided to start caravanning again after a 20+ year gap and decided our first trip would be to Clippesby Hall after reading its many positive reviews. The welcome from the receptionist was friendly. The site set amongst woodlands and pinetrees, the pitches are a good size and well laid out and you can decide on which area you wish to go on. We went on the Heath and we were not disappointed its a beautiful haven with lots of birdsong. The toilet and shower facilities are immaculate and its like being at home with the warmth. The hot water plentiful and there is no pressing of buttons every minute to restart your shower. The dishwashing and laundry facilities are excellent. There is an information centre plus bike hire, table tennis kids play area and other things for the kids and adults to do. Including walking and cycling to the broads. The Muskett arms pub is lovely with many different drinks to choose from and they have lots food choices on the menu and nothing is too much trouble. Babies high chairs and kids games room plus pool in the main bar area. There is also Susies cafe/shop on site which again is spotless does lovely food and the lemon drizzle cake and victoria sponge are to die for. You can also order freshly cooked bread pizzas etc. It is not hard to see why this site has won many awards. We will definitely come again and congratulate the owners on a beautiful place.

We have a caravan and two young children - 4 + 5, so thought this site would be great for a family break.
The site itself is very well laid out - we were on hardstanding in rabbits grove but there are grass pitches. It is a large site but because it is well separated into different areas you get the feel of isolation, particularly in the wooded areas. Beware, though, that the wooded areas are sheltered from the sun for much of the day and during our stay we found it rather cold.
Toilet facilities were well kept and never busy.
The on site pub was used once by us for dinner - good food and service.
The pool was not open during our stay but we did make use of the café and mini golf which was great. The café lunch food was lovely and attracted people from off the campsite.
The kids loved going through the woods and riding bikes/scooters down the woodland track. The one thing we did find wss that the play pack was a little too far from where we were fro our youngsters - very good for older ones, and the climbing frame again a little too much for our 4 year old. A play park for tots would have made this site perfect - that's why I gave 7/10.
Site staff were friendly and helpful except for one (older) lady who tried her upmost to avoid eye contact when we were waiting in reception - after a minute or two we were so riled we left as a mere acknowledgement of presence is simple manners.
Close by we visited bewilderwood - fantastic for kids both young, old and middle aged! and dinosaur adventure. Great walks along the water ways.

We had a great fortnight at Clippesby Hall. The weather was a little damp at times, which made some of the pathways a bit slippery, partly due to the number of trees in the site and the leaf mould that accumulated. We pitched on the Pinewoods, a semi circle of well tended grass with an arc of roadway through it. Unfortunately, we had the pitch nearest the toilets, which meant people kept using the gap between the tent and the fairly sparse hedge to cut through. A well placed, short windbreak soon stopped that!
We used the shop, pool, playground, various toilet blocks, washing up station, pub, crazy golf, bike track, tennis courts and found them all to be in good order. Pool was pretty cold though. We are originally from the area, so it was handy for family to come over. The staff are very friendly and helped both sets of grandparents to find us on site when they visited us.
As we knew the area well, we were not short of things to do off site and went to Bewilderwood, Wells, Wroxham, Cromer (ace fish and chips at 'No. 1' restaurant) and even rode the Wash Monster at Hunstanton. Great Yarmouth with all it's delights is very close by too.

This was our second visit this year and we had a really super time. We stayed in The Meadow section with our motorhome, close to the shop and cafe and just a short walk to the toilets, playpark etc.
We paid approx £40 per night which may seem quite expensive but as we have 3 kids and a dog we felt actually it was good value for money. The facilities on site are excellent, super play areas, tennis court, bike area, table tennis, ini golf, swimming pool(a bit chilly)and a friendly pub. The pub has activities on the evening during peak season, including a kids disco which our kids loved but it does get busy. The food is good but do book a table, the staff are very helpful and you can take dogs in.
Toilets and showers are good and clean and plenty of washing up facilities
We found all the staff very welcoming and helpful
The surrounding Norfolk broads area is beautiful and well worth exploring. We took a boat trip from Wroxham. Although to be honest we could happily have spent each day in the campsite. We also visited Great Yarmouth which the kids loved but was a bit tacky!
We live only around an hour away so will certainly visit again. We also run a vw campervan rental company based in Suffolk and would certainly recommend it to customers especially those looking for a family friendly site.

WOW! This is the perfect site for a family holiday. Infant so perfect we had only stayed 2 nights before we booked for 10 nights for next year. So nice to stay where it's not totally money orientated. All the pitches are spread out with plenty of space in between. The shower blocks are very nice and clean! Swimming pool, bar everything is great especially bike hire. In Acle(10 minutes) there is Budgens and a coop or Great Yarmouth has a selection of supermarkets! Gorleston and Winterton beach are lovely and dog friendly! Only 376 days til we return!

Fantastic.
Large park for tents and caravans. Separated into sections so it doesn't feel like too massive a place. You can ask for sunny or shady pitches. Many are fully serviced. Several shower rooms - regularly cleaned, although at somewhat awkward times (see other reviews, below). Pitch sizes are very generous. While there are loads of paths around the site (and none took anything like 10 mins to traverse for me as another reviewer has suggested) I was, however, surprised at the lack of pathways within the camping areas. It was common for other punters to simply wander across our pitch to get to other parts of the site. Disconcerting to find 4 adults staring in the caravan window while I had been on the loo! But then I also found it hard to access e. G. The loos without crossing other pitches even if I did try to use empty ones only.
All sorts of facilities on site: pub with bar menu, coffee shop with home made cakes (wifi available), food shop where you can order croissants and pizzas and they're all good. Also does good bbq meat from local butcher.
Activities include a small pool, tennis courts, badminton, pitch and putt, an adventure playground for younger kids and bike hire - cycling is wonderful and flat on tiny wee lanes. Archery lessons are available and our coach was fantastic! Gardens are large (vast) and well maintained. Doves and peacocks are your pets for your stay.
The owner and her family work very hard to provide great service in a friendly and professional way.

Stayed for the first time at Clippesby for a week and stayed on the 'Pinewoods' (No dogs allowed pitch). Its situated in beautiful surroundings and found the whole site to be well maintained. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the Saturday night entertainer was great with the kids as well as entertaining the adults, just a shame its only one night a week.
Weather was hot while we were there so we went to look at the pool but due to its small size we didn't have any chance of getting to use it very over crowded, for such a large site they need a much bigger pool. Susies cafe sold lovely food for lunch and we used it a few times although felt very let down with the breakfast. Crazy golf was fun for the little ones worth a game.
We used the Muskett Arms restaurant a few times and have to disagree with anyone who says its pricey and make sure you book as its a small restaurant and cant fit everyone in when its busy. I did however ask them to do a smaller portion of the adult meals for my 4 year old as I found the only choices he had were nuggets, sausage and pasta etc. I understand a lot of children like that day in day out, but it is nice for a bigger choice for those who adventure a bit more with their food, I'm pleased to say they were happy to make him the other meals. The problem we had with the restaurant is that they allow people to take there dogs inside which I thought was a health hazard and not allowed so didn't appreciate eating my dinner with someones dog laying on the floor next to me, and when one barked that sent them all off.
We booked the Pinewoods pitch to be away from the dogs not sit next to them in a restaurant. Also they need to put a 'No Dogs' sign up at the Pinewoods pitch as people still kept coming on it with there dogs oblivious to the fact they shouldnt be there.
The shower blocks were spotless at the beginning of the week when it was quiet but once it got busy it was a different story.
I do recommend Clippesby and we probably will return but I think due to its size and the amount of people it holds it needs more shower blocks probably one on each pitch, a much bigger pool, and more swings etc in the play area. It just seems that the amount of visitors has increased over the years but Clippesby itself hasn't expanded enough to accommodate.

Love this gem of a site and are planning another visit very soon. It feels very relaxed and the areas for pitching tents are large, grassy, level and offer shade or sun, or both! It feels very sociable, but is not loud or a party campsite. It's excellent for families or couples, with lots to do for the children, but, because it is spacious and well laid out, you can also enjoy the quiet. The pool is small and can get busy. We also found it to be unsurprisingly cold on the first visit (early May) but lovely on the second visit in July. The shop is good, the wardens and staff friendly and helpful, the grounds well tended and clean and the toilet facilities clean. My one and only criticism would be that there are just not enough toilet and shower facilities, though they are clean and the showers lovely and warm. The area is pleasant and there is quite a lot to do if you feel the need to leave the site! Norwich is a short drive and a very pleasant city. Great Yarmouth has all a seaside town could offer, I believe and the Broads are worth exploring.

This is a lovely site.
Good facilities - shop could have a licence!
Great food in on site pub, good toilets / showers, nice setting.
The service was superb, all staff members were very friendly.
Very kid friendly - we have a 2. 5 & 4. 5 year old and they were well catered for, from the play equipment to the crazy golf, nice walks and wooden forts.
The information pack they supply you with is first rate too - very slick and informative.
The biggest praise I can give is that it was our 1st trip and we are all smitten - we will definitely return.
ONE WORD OF CAUTION - most pitches are at the perimeter of woodland - looks lovely but our tent became a flock of birds' toilet every day. Cleaning it was grim.
