Spent an enjoyable weekend here. Everything said by previous reviewers is spot on - this site is hard to beat, in fact we judge all other sites by it. One of the best facilities for me is the fact that the loos (ladies anyway) each have a private basin so you can wash in private if you don't want to shower - a really good idea. The family bathrooms are great for families with babies / toddlers - mine hate showers. They are cleaned regularly too.
The site has nice forestry feel to it and the children liked exploring. We were in Pine Woods which has large pitches The staff were really helpful and the onsite pub is very convenient with decent food.
The children's play area is great and the pool is an added bonus though small. We really love the fact that you can order croissants to be delivered to your tent in the mornings!
There is a great new children's attraction 'Bewilderwood' nearby so we will definitely be back.

Yet another glowing review! Just back from this excellent campsite after 3 days in The Orchard with my 14 year old son. Have camped only 3 times previously so still regard myself as something of a novice, but this has to be the best site I've had the pleasure of staying at. Its only beaten by the view of the mountains I had from a site I stayed in at Gravellotte in the French Alps!
Lots thats really good about Clippesby. Its a great base to explore The Broads. You can rent bikes on site with all the equipment and even packed lunches to go. Toilets and showers are cleaned twice daily and it shows. There's enough to actually do on the site if you have kids or teenagers, but you also have the option of doing things like canoeing, which is fairly close by. The on-site shop and pub are excellent (although a little pricey as others have said). The woodland setting is really quite peaceful. You would never guess this was a fairly large camping park. It never felt crowded. And we've just visited in high season when families descend in droves.
Wonderful light filtering through the mature trees, well tended pitches, friendly helpful staff. (my son lightly burnt his finger on our gas lamp and the staff at the Muskett Arms fell over themselves to help with ice and ointment). Someone has put an awful lot of thought into this place and it is enjoying well deserved success.
Thoroughly recommended, although if you want a quiet secluded stay better to book into The Dell or The Heath. If like us you prefer quick access to the play area and football pitch The Orchard or South Park are perfect.

Another glowing review.
This was our first camping trip (we are in our early 50s) and can only echo what the other reviewers have said. This site is fantastic and offers something for all whether you have children or not.
The staff are friendly and very helpful and approachable.
The option to take food from the pub back to your tent was brilliant and we were even told that if our dog was well behaved (Westie) that she was welcome in the pub as well - now thats what we call 'dog friendly'!
We were pitched in the Heath (alongside the Long family . Hi folks Bob and Chris here Outwell 6).
The toilet shower and kitchen prep and washing facilities were superb and very clean (cleaned twice a day). There was no litter or rubbish to be seen on the site and in fact the sites upkeep was impeccable.
The shop and coffee shop ware great, although a little on the expensive side but good quality supplies.
There was a freezer to enable you to freeze your ice blocks, as well as a well equipped 'launderette' with everything you could need.
The surroundings shrubbery and trees were lovely and the site was a peaceful haven only broken by the noise of the peacock, peahen and pigeons which was quite amusing and didn't bother us in the least.
So all in all a superb venue for our first outing and we will certainly be returning one day.

Another glowing review!
This was our first camping trip - 4 days at Clippesby Hall and it was great.
We were in the area called Pine Woods which has loads of space between pitches.
The staff were very helpful and the onsite pub was nice.
The only downside was the peacocks calling at 4am! But frankly you don't really mind. The site was very quiet apart from that in the late evening which was perfect for us.
The shower/toilet block was well appointed and usually clean - especially appreciated the family bathroom.
We'd absolutely, definitely go back!

What can I say, we are now spoilt. This was our second visit and it was as good as the first. A well laid out site with clusters of pitches set amongst the trees. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great bike hire on site for exploring locally.
Decent shop with lovely fresh bread every morning. Pool ok seemed small but never overcrowded. We have two children and they loved every part of the site.
Two grass tennis courts which we used regularly.
Toilets and showers large enough for all and cleaned at specific times twice a day.
If visiting this part of the country there is only one place to stay. We are relatively new to camping and this site has set the benchmark high.

I can only echo what other members have already written. This is a site which is set in gorgeous woodland and is maintained to the highest standards.
The pitches are large, reasonably level and there is no feeling of being squeezed in to every square inch of the site. Being surrounded by trees certainly gives a feeling of privacy and also offers shelter from the elements when things get a little windy.
Even though we were only on site for a long weekend, we used all of the facilities. Tennis, games room, swimming, pub (Obviously), cafe, putting course, play area. Definetly a safe environment for kids to go off and play, we didn't see ours unless there was food around or it was bed time.
Barbeques are allowed, but no campfires as the park is set in woodland.
No noise policy after 11.00pm
For a medium sized site this really does have something for everyone. We even managed to book the last pitch for the August Bank holiday.
Toilets / Showers are very good. Modern and kept clean.
There is a campsite shop. My only criticism is that the prices are at the higher level of what you would expect to pay at a camp shop. Having said that, they stock local produce and good quality stuff. There's a Tesco in Caistor (15 mins) or co-op and Budgens in Acle (5 mins).
Highly recommended!

Stayed Friday till Sunday, we chose THE HEATH area to pitch our tent, there are only 8 pitches and no children. Pitches were good size with electric hook up. Cannot fault this site, toilets/showers excellent, clubhouse/pub superb, we ate there Friday and Saturday night. Very good value and excellent food. The staff were very helpful and did whatever they could to help you. We only live 5 miles from site, but it was just great to get away for the weekend, would certainly recommend this site to anybody.

This was our first camping experience and how lucky we were to find Clippesby!
We chose the Pine Woods and on arrival were wowed by the beauty and whole atmosphere of the area. The site is incredibly clean and tidy, the staff so welcoming, and the peace and quiet is amazing.Apart from the peacocks!. They were rather noisy first thing in the morning, but by day 2 after we had them eating out of our hands we were hooked and wanted to adopt them.
The site is sectioned off into camping areas, some small and some larger, but never too large. The pitches are well spaced and everywhere are the most wonderful variety of trees and bushes; truly picturesque. There are areas for motorhomes and also lovely log cabins to rent and apartments which are set away from the general camping areas.
The site has ample shower and toilet facilities which are cleaned twice a day (superb!); a tennis court, where Jensen one of the peacocks likes to roost; woodland tracks and walkways to explore; Susie's super coffee shop with the most incredible homemade cakes (you REALLY have to try them! I bought an extra slice and Susie stashed it in the fridge for next day), and great breakfasts; an on-site shop for essentials; a miniture 18 hole golf course which was great fun. We played almost every day, but I never managed to win. And we must not forget the Bar and Resaurant where Lee made us so welcome and Sarah cooked fabulous fish and chips (beer Batter - wonderful!). We also have to mention Jean, who is an encyclopaedia of knowledge about the area and the peacocks and a lovley, lovely lady.
The weather was a little cold some days, I guess you have to expect that in May, but the site was not busy at that time either so we mostly only had neighbours at weekends. We went for 3 nights and stayed 12! We did not want to leave, and will definitely be going back.
For our first camping experience this was superb - probably spoilt us forever!

We've just returned from a lovely week at Clippesby Hall, despite the lovely British weather. The site is arranged in different sections, each section having different qualities. We stayed in Heath and it was perfect. Heath has 8 pitches and as the campsite wasn't very busy only two of those pitches were used. And even better we weren't positioned next to each other! So often have we been to campsites that are half empty only to be given a pitch next to another tent or caravan.
The site is perfectly organised, there is a section for everyone. The Dell has lovely large secluded pitches, but no electrical hook-up that we could see. Heath was lovely and secluded also. But there were sections with lots of open space and areas for kids to run around. Rabbits Grove looked a perfect middle ground.
The toilets were clean although could have perhaps done with an extra clean in the day due to all the muddy foot prints from the very soggy ground. The shower cubicles were brilliant, a proper shower enclosure with an area to dry off. And the addition of hairdryers was a bonus.
The on-site pub was lovely if a bit expensive. It's not a '2-for-£10' style pub and this was reflected in the quality of food as well as the prices. I would definitely recommend a visit and the burgers were delicious. If you have better weather than us then the patio area would be perfect for a late evening drink.
I would definitely recommend Clippesby Hall to any type of camper, whether you prefer open-plan kid friendly sites or a bit of secluded bliss. We didn't have many pigeons where we were, but there were pheasants, rabbits and friendly peacocks.

We loved this campsite! Neither my partner nor I had been camping for about 20 years and this was definitely a great place to start again.
We had a great pitch up in Rabbit Grove, sheltered by trees and less than 100 yards from the shower facilities and wash up area. The site was clean and well kept and the showers/toilet facilities excellent (they have hairdryers for the ladies - thank goodness!). The pitches (allocated) are nicely spaced out and Rabbit Grove is a small woody area which gave us just enough privacy without feeling isolated. With the exception of the pigeon dawn chorus (!), it was lovely and quiet and the other campers were respectful of the peaceful surroundings.
We loved the Muskett Arms Bar/Restaurant at the top of the site. Great staff, great food (which includes a kids menu), excellent service with a buzzy atmosphere – a really nice place to sit relax in the evening. We went out of school holiday time so our weekend had a more adult feel to it. However, I'm sure families would more than enjoy it and are welcome in the bar and restaurant
All in all, we'd thoroughly recommend this campsite as a relaxing place to stay in the middle of the Norfolk Broads and would definitely go there again. Enjoy!
