Lovely site, very high standard. Site is divided into separate areas so can be in a secluded area even when really busy. Also try to separate couples and families! Washing and showering facilities very good with 'proper' shower cubicles (ie. shower trays and showers) and plenty of sinks. Facilities very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful and can provide you with routes for walks and cycling. Crazy golf course on site which can bring out your competitive side! Pub on site really nice and was not too busy even during a bank holiday. Basic menu but good standard of food and not expensive with a main course about £6.95. Well placed site for Norwich and Great Yarmouth and well definitely go again.

We stayed here over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. It was very busy, but not overcrowded, they left space in the middle. You will need blocks to get your van level, the whole complex is on a slight hill (about 4 inches over a caravan width).
The campsites are set in grass clearings within the woods. We stayed in the Cedar lawn area.
The toilets are clean and of high quality, however there wasn't enough of them. Only one shower and 3 toliets for women, and one shower and 2 toilets for men (plus a urinal). Each toliet had a sink inside, which makes poor use of sinks/toilets for morning washes.
The kids play area has good facilities, swings, roundabout, sandpit, football pitch, climbing frame.
There is a small shop onsite, which stocks most goods, which also contains the cafe which serves coffee and cakes, breakfast baps and rolls etc.
We noticed a lot of nats, in April, I guess later in the year you should be prepared for more.
The woodlands are very nice to walk around, and there are 2 grass tennis courts, which are fine for a play with the kids, but with no lines and bumpy ground don't expect no wimbledon centre court surface.

Clippesby is an excellent site with all the facilities that you need. On arrival, you are genuinely made to feel welcome by the staff. All of the pitches are surrounded by a variety of trees so if you are an efficionardo on wildlife, this is the place for you!
We were placed in the area known as Rabbits Grove (and yes - we did actually see rabbits!). Unfortunately, we had arrived after a long period of very heavy rain, so as a consequence, the pitch was rather muddy. We got around this by using groundsheets outside the tent.
The facilities were kept very clean, and because of this you have to time your showers etc. very carefully as the shower / toilet blocks where closed for long periods for cleaning.
The tavern bar provided plenty of entertainment which included a childrens disco and other themed nights. Food served there was of high quality although a bit pricey, but the portions are quite large. There is also a small shop and a cosy cafe, which were not too expensive.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this site, and would consider returning.

I must agree with many of the previous reviews about this site. It truly is a lovely campsite set in a wooded area (out of the wind)with well kept lawns for the pitches. The staff were extreamly friendly and very helpful. On arrival, you are given a welcome pack and are lead to your pitch by a member of staff in a Land Rover. Whilst we were there, the rain came down in buckets and the groundsmen made every effort to cover any mud on vacated pitches with sand. We only saw one pitch which became unusable due to sodden ground (we were in Rabbits Grove). The facilities on this site are superb and toilet and shower blocks kept very clean (even with all that mud!). Be aware though, the two facilities blocks are closed twice a day for quite long periods for cleaning (only one at a time though).
There is a very friendly pub on site called "The Muskett Arms" which has various entertainment throughout the week which also serves slightly expensive but never the less excellent food. During the day, food is available from the on site cafe/shop. The site has the David Bellamy award for preservation of wildlife which is well deserved, we saw all sorts of birds, bats and yes, there really are rabbits on Rabbits Grove! I would highly recommend this campsite if you are visiting Norfolk.

What a lovely site! The pitches are very large and only sited along the perimeters of each field, leaving a vast space in the middle for campers to enjoy. At one stage I looked out and I think someone (adults & children)from every pitch was out doing something:- cricket, football, catch, reading or just watching. Everything is kept very clean. The best crazy golf course we have seen on a site. Friendly helpful staff. Yes the pool is small but my son (10) was able to swim when he wanted to. Children are made welcome but you may want to note that after dusk there is not much for them to do, the games room attached to the bar is very basic so expect to provide your own childrens evening entertainment. If you go you really must hire a boat (Wroxham 20 mins drive away) at only £13 per hour for a boat that seats upto 10 it's fantastic value. On our last day we had 3 hours including stopping off for a picnic...fantastic weather....pure bliss. Will definitely return to this site.

May 2005 Would thoroughly recommend 'the dell' quiet and a spacious pitch. facilities are immaculate. Not too far to drive to local attractions. The onsite bar provided plenty of evening entertainment, not to mention beer :) all in all it was a great place for our first camping trip.

June 2005 This is the just a lovely site. Set in beautiful grounds with everything. you could want. swimming pool, tennis courts, pub, immaculate heated showers and wash rooms, non commercialised and unspolit.
The fields were all beautifully trimmed lawns but around the edges were wild woods full of flowers and birds. We stayed in the Cedar Lawn field which has a large tree house in the corner which my children loved, and a very climbable cedar tree in the middle, which my children played in most of the time.
There is about four noisy peacocks walking about which called to one another from time to time but eventually settled down when the sun went down. We were a short drive away from a small village with a safe, quiet, clean beach. On the site the staff were friendly and helpful, I cannot fault this site and will be returning for a longer stay next year. This site is a credit to the owners. beautiful.

July 2005 We have just returned from this excellant site. WE were surprised at the quality of everything. The pitches are large and most are surronded by trees giving you the privacy. The toilets/showers were spotless, the staff were all very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The public house on the site was very good and the food was of good quality at normal pub prices. After 25 years of camping this is the best site we have visited, whilst there we rode around as far as belton, Yarmouth to investigate other sites, but could not find any that compared with Clippesby Hall. The only complaint would be that it is more expensive than most at £19.50 per pitch, and I believe the showers will be under strain now the children having broken up from school and the site will be full.
However in this instance you do get what you pay for, well worth the money.

May 2005 Upon arrival, we were very impressed with this campsite. It was in a beautiful setting, which was very relaxing and tranquil.
We stayed in the South Park area of the site. The pitches have plenty of space and shade.
The toilet and shower facilities were immaculate and the staff were very polite and helpful.
A very highly reccomended campsite and we will be going back again soon.

August 2004 Hi, Clippesby Hall is a great camp site, members of staff are friendly and campers are mainly polite, we went with total basics i.e. no electric hookup it was great no tv just piece and quiet, if you want a quite holiday keep away from "ceder lawn" it is like living on a busy railway. Overall the site is well catered if you are into golf then I recommend the crazy golf, its a laugh, the swimming pool (paddling pool) is only worth while at the start of the day i.e about 08:30hrs otherwise no chance of getting a swim. If you go off site try the broads it's cheap to hire a boat either by the hour or the day starting from £15 an hour to £49 a day for the small 6 person craft. Go to the village experience, and if you like animals visit Thrigby hall well worth the money. Overall the attractions were good in the surrounding area and the onsite facilities are good with good shower blocks which I must add get cleaned every night about 7pm so stear clear, we found that the area immediately infront of the reception block was the most secluded but be aware not to be on a slope when it rains because when it rains, it rains! We will be revisiting next year as already booked and we hope to have an even better holiday and hopefully meet more great people like Gary & Sally.
