Good sized site, has been here for over 40 years ( we returned on a childhood memory tour!)
Expensive at £17 per night, but excellent facilities and lots of electric hookups (even though we did not use them this time). Shop is basic but has gas cannisters of every type I have seen.
Very close to the beach and town centre
There are a lot of static vans but these are kept behind a fence.

As the other reviews state, this site is huge. It is definitely not quiet. We've stayed there twice now, the most recent being August Bank Holiday 2005. On this occasion there were so many campers they actually put up a site full sign. It was baking hot so the short walk to the beach was a godsend. It's the sort of place to go if you want to meet up with other groups without fear of upsetting anybody with excessive noise. Personally I couldn't stay more than 2 nights at the place. There are a lot of younger people on site & the language can get a bit colourful, but if you can pick a good spot you should be ok. Facilities wise, the new shower blocks are superb, but they do get dirty quickly due to the numbers of people using them. You always have to queue. The same goes for the washing up area. There are some older toilet blocks aswell, but these are best avoided unless you're desperate! Apart from that the site has nothing else. You will need to walk into the village (approx 10 minutes). My rating for the site is 6 out of 10. If it wasn't for the showers though I'd say 4 out of 10

We only came to this site because we had left it rather late to book anywhere else but we had a very pleasant stay, which was a surprise as we would normally choose somewhere smaller and quieter. The booking in procedure was quick and simple and before we knew it we were trundling off to find ourselves a space, armed with a helpful map! For us it was a plus to be able to choose our own pitch and though it was all a bit haphazard, preferable to being in regimented lines. The whole site is nice and flat to pitch on. Our children loved the play area and we were reassured about its safety when some lads started throwing sand and the cctv man was straight out to tell them off. One of the few cases when it is nice to know 'Big Brother' is watching! The facilities are lovely, clean and modern and we didn't have to queue for the showers even though the site was busy. Unfortunately the only criticisms we have of the site concern the showers etc but they are only niggles really. Firstly it would be nice to have more than one little hook to hang your things on as it's a real juggling act to keep your stuff dry especially if you have taken a child in with you. Secondly, although the showers were lovely and hot for us, they did get a bit too hot at times for the kids. Thirdly, although it was lovely to have disabled toilets (accessed by RADAR key) it was a shame they were inside the other toilet blocks and not separate. The reason being our seven year old son needs help to go to the toilet but of course I had to take him into the ladies. Ok, seven isn't so terrible but I can see it being a problem on future visits. Plenty of other people have mentioned the close proximity of the shops and beach so I won't go into too much detail but the camp reception also supplies gas, spare pegs etc and ice which we found very welcome! The staff were all very friendly. Just a couple more points. People have mentioned the lack of light in the fields at night but it was lovely to be able to see the stars and surely going to the toilets by torch-light is all part of the adventure for children. Also, the charges for parking at West Wittering. We thought £5 for parking was a bit steep (actually £1 for blue badge holders) until we saw the place. It is immaculate with great toilet facilities etc. The beach is fabulous and the sea was so clean we could see shoals of little fish. We will definitely be going back.

I was horrified at the cost for two nights for a VolksWagon camper and small tent. They charge per unit. If you have a large family and enormous camper it probably works out as good value, for simple style camping it is a rip off. Despite the number of campers the showers were clean with plenty of hot water. I found the staff polite and helpful. There was bad language from other campers some showing lack of concideration for other campers by playing loud music. This is not a site I would recomend for a quiet get away.

I went with my wife and 3 children to this campsite this weekend. The first sign of sunshine in the last couple of months and in the school holidays. To be honest this one was my last choice of the three campsites in this area that are listed on this site. It was last choice because it is so huge and I was expecting it to be a bit of a nightmare with lots of noisy uncontrolled kids running about, long waits for toilets, showers etc. BUT we were very pleasantly surprised I never once had to queue for a toilet or shower, they were kept very clean and there was always hot water. We were able to find a pretty quiet spot, did not have any problems with noisy neighbours or people right on top of us. The kids play area is large with sand and pretty good play equipment and it is only a short walk to the village of East Wittering and its stony beach. The sandy beach at West Wittering is huge when the tide is out and great for building sand castles, you will need to drive from this campsite but there is a large car park there costing six pounds all day at weekends. Scott's Farm was good value at 18 quid a night for the whole family and no extra charges for showers etc. One thing that I was surprised at was that they did not have a shop on site (unless they did and I just did not find it).I would have thought that it would be very profitable for them when they have so many people on site

Oh God . This place is not for me!
I'm used to camping on a cliff in a deserted field in Wales - this was a nightmare.
Went with a friend and her two children. We pitched our tents and went to the beach. When we came back some bloke had pitched so close to us that our guy ropes were actually crossed!
If only we'd arrived a few hours later, they'd have opened the field by the dog exercise field and we'd have been pretty much on our own.
So busy, so many people . If your idea of camping is peace, quiet and tranquility this place isn't for you. If you're into lots of people - you'll probably like it .
On the upside the showers and toilets were amazing . Really hot showers, clean toilets, which considering the number of people was very impressive. And there's a chip shop just round the corner that was great!
For me - I'd rather have no facilities and a quiet field, but each to their own and if you're less concerned about solitude then with everything so close, the onsite facilities and good weather, you'll have a great time!

We go to this huge site every year, it's fantastic for young families mainly because of the location. It's a short 10 minute walk to the beach which is quite nice when the tide is out, there is a better beach a short 5 minute drive up the road in West Wittering which is sandy and apparently very nice, My family haven't been to this one as the local beach is adequate for my families needs. And if you are lucky enough to find the crab pools, you could spend the whole day dangling bacon off string and pulling some fairly decent sized crabs out of the water. There are local shops selling everything you could possibly need, from kites to dog poo bags. Hardware stores selling camping gear (and at a fairly reasonable price!). Take-aways from indian to pizza (should you feel too tired after a long day on the beach), and even a mini Tescos. There are banks, post offices, grocers and butchers, all 5 minutes walk away from the site itself. The site itself is huge, there is never any worry about space on this site. The facilities are limited but when you are 5 minutes away from whatever you may need, who cares? There is (I believe) gas cylinder exchanges available, ice block freezing and the friendly staff will even charge phones or DVD players for a small fee. The showers are clean and hot all of the time, launderette facilities are adequate (don't use the driers though!) and a nice play park for the kids, however it is a huge sand pit and no matter when we go, there are always some kids throwing sand around! At night (because we always pitch by the park) it can be a bit noisy with the teenagers going in and out of the park banging the gate, but that's the price you pay for the 'luxury' of pitching near the park (for the kids) The site does get a bit messy after a bank holiday weekend, but that is mainly down to the campers who do not see the need to leave it as you would like to find it. You get those types everywhere you go though right? It's not the best campsite I've been to but there is a lot worse.

A really good site for families and couples alike. We have stayed there twice and we found toilet and showers very clean. A lovely play park for the children. A pleasant village nearby. Close to the beach. A lot to do for the children. We will be going again. It was a shame about the weather because unfortunately we had to come home early. Typical bank Holiday!

My girlfriend & I plus another couple stayed here for 1 night for the August Bank Holiday last year. We arrived at Scott's Farm to be informed that 'groups were not allowed'. Being just 2 couples I felt this was somewhat extreme especially as we had booked for 2 nights. In the end our friends waited 2 hours and tried again - they were booked in. We however we forced to stay in hotel in Chichester. Next day our friends convinced us to try again like they had - sure enough they let us in. Big mistake. Campsite was the busiest I have ever seen - Hundreds of people crammed in 5 huge fields like a festival site. All kids on the site formed large gangs with terrible language from the parents and kids alike. Facilities were okay but queues of 20+ for the showers. Nearby is the beach so location is okay. Overall, for the money we paid and the poor experience I would advise any readers of this you if like myself like a pretty, quiet, friendly and enjoyable campsite to avoid this site. I hope the organisers of this site read this review and others similar and seriously consider the service they offer to paying customers.

We were so relieved when we arrived here that there was space. Everywhere else was fully booked. Well the reason there was space was because the owner just kept opening another field as soon as one got full. It was like a cattle market. Cars zooming everywhere, teenage lads sitting on their car bonnets, waiting for the talent to walk out of the girls washrooms.I've never heard so much swearing.
No shop on site, so you have to go to Wittering. Big queues for the washing up area, showers and toilets as there is only one block for about a million people. No lighting in the fields, which was quite scary. Families playing football everywhere and quite annoyed when you accidently walk through their game. The play area is just a massive sand pit, which in the evening is the local teenage hang out. Absolutely no organisation, no rules, nothing.
