Like many we ended on this campsite following a referral from Nunnington Farm after failing to get there on time before they filled up. Shame really, we only live 45 minutes away and thought arriving at noon would have given us plenty of time to check into what looked like a very pleasant “ruralish” site.
The signage for Scott’s Farm was good and the site was easy to find. Reception staff were very helpful, explaining how the site was delineated for pitches with hook up (more on this later). The various camping fields were level and the ground was idea for pitching, not too soft and not too hard. The grass had clearly been cut in readiness for the bank holiday weekend.
The facilities block on the field we chose was modern, highly functional and generally kept clean. There was always an abundance of hot water for showering and washing up (more on this later).
For rubbish there were strategically placed mega sized skips (more on this later). Staff came round checking that everyone had valid tickets on their tents and making suggestions regarding pitching positions (more later)
Had we had younger children, I’m sure they would have been well entertained in the play area which seemed to have plenty of good quality equipment (more on this later)
In all Scott’s Farm is a large and efficiently run site, close to local amenities and the beach.
Out of choice, however, we would not return. Why? The frailties of Homo sapiens I’m afraid. Let me explain.
The “no groups” policy was not enforced. Easy to bypass when you all turn up separately and free pitch selection policy ( which in theory is very commendable) allows people to spread cars and other equipment over several pitches until their mates turn up. Our neighbour was particularly bad in that he parked his car down the side of his very large tent, and into our pitch, which meant that we had to walk over our guy-ropes to get in our door. He refused to move it, and it became aware why as the very large space in front of his tent was the football pitch – our cars turned into the goalnets.
The toilets were fine although the litter bins always seem to fill up with takeaway food wrappers very quickly ( it must have been all of another 75 yards to take it to the skips!). At least the site was not heavily littered and the wardens did come round picking litter. The only thing they could not pick up were the hundreds of used water bombs ( I’m sure they will degrade in a 100 or so years) Soap dispensers would have been handy and most basins needed emptied( and rinsed) before they could be used.
The washing up area had very large and deep sinks – excellent. Again it would have been nice to find one that did not need washed before it could be used.
The other downside was that there was no recycling policy in place – everything was placed in the one type of skip. Perhaps Chichester council could suggest at their licensing renewal. We took our paper, card and bottles home with us. I suspect that we were in a minority of one.
It was bound to be noisy over a bank holiday, but the parties ceased at about 1am and some kids were set loose again at 5:30 (1st light), so it was not exactly a place for a good night’s sleep.
So I guess you take it that we did not enjoy our stay. It could have been better, we went offsite a lot.

This is the third year we have visited, and once again it does not fail to please. Good idea to get there on a Wednesday or a Thursday as you will have the choice of pitches in the main field. Friday the overflow field opens and it seems whatever the weather, half of London descends.
There is no online booking, just turn up. Staff are very friendly and helpful (even advised where to get parts for our cooker at a rival campsite). Beach is a short 15 min walk as is the town. Beach is very clean and safe for kids, there are a couple of little seasidey shops and a Co-Op and Tesco, although be warned Friday and Saturday evenings they are heaving.
Showers and Toilets are passibly clean given the use they get at weekends. Pitch where you like (the staff will tell you if you are too close, as happened to some, and had to move), reasonably flat, some good well sign posted country footpaths run off the dog walking field.
Playground very good for kids 6-12 yrs although it does get populated by the hooded topped teen brigade once dark, but these are soon shifted by the staff around 10. All in all an ace site for a short break by the sea. A couple of pubs, one very much at the tourist near the beach, the other very much for locals, but friendly enough both accepting of children.
If you want a short break, by the sea, for not much money, this is perfect, just don't expect peace and quiet at the weekends. Weather also tends to be good even when it it pouring elsewhere due to a strange microclimate caused by the proximity to the Isle of Wight. Short seaside break, decent site,no need to do any driving once there, this place is perfect.

Just returned from a very nice weekend at Scotts Farm. Found the staff to be very helpful and the campsite very good.
Very close to East Wittering village shops and pubs/restaurants. Only ten minutes walk from the beach, would recommend this site and will return again.
We were concerned having tried telephoning other sites in advance just to find them fully booked but took a chance on getting in.
We need not have worried as the site was very large, 4 fields, and there was plenty of room. You also have the choice of which field you would like and each contains a toilet/shower block.
You don't have to pay separately for the showers either.

I was pleasantly surprised with the site, the staff were friendly & helpful & I could pitch wherever I wanted (given a choice of 3 fields). There is a great playground for the children which is full of sand so can also be used as a sand pit! There were plenty of toilets, showers & sinks for washing up.
West wittering beach is a very short drive away & is a lovely place the shops in East Wittering are just a few minutes walk from the site & there is a small shop on the campsite selling essentials.
A nice site & I would visit again.

It's been a long time since I've been camping and my 9 year old son and 18 month old Jack Russell have never camped before! I was dreading it! When we arrived it was very clear where we had to go. The gentlemen in reception were friendly, and made booking in easy. We were given a small map of the campsite and told which field we could camp in and off we went.
We found the shower and toilets clean, plenty of fresh drinking water points. The dog walking field is fantastic! The children's play area is great. The Village has everything you could possibly need, and there are plenty of shops that stock camping supplies.
All in all the only complaint we had, RE our holiday, was the rain on the first day! Not a lot that can be done about that!
Everyone was kind, friendly, pleasant, couldn't have asked for nicer staff, or more pleasant surroundings.
We will definitely be going again!

5 minute walk to the village, there's a couple of handy shops there, Co-op, Tesco, cutest sweet shop and the busiest fish n chip shop ever on a Friday night (worth the wait), a few minutes walk more to the sea front.
However due to its location you do get some wind off the coast, not all the time apparently but I would advise against taking a flimsy tent just in case.
Very relaxed/laid back attitude here.
The price is great if you are a family in one tent, £21 I think per night.
They will only accept couples/families, don't go here if you are a group of friends because you'll be turned away.
You also can't pre-book which is a bit of a pain.
Nice kids' park, but it was of course noisy if you were camped over there. It's near the one and only toilet block too so you have to compromise if you want peace and quiet or to be closer to the toilets. The block is annoyingly located near the front of the site too. It was modern and clean, but some handsoap would've been nice.
Go to West Wittering for a good beach, but be prepared it gets very busy.

We had a fantastic weekend there - really safe environment for children and all the other families were really friendly. Children loved going to collect water, and the shower and sink facilities were warm and clean.
The beach at West Wittering is lovely, but the car park can be expensive at £7.00 on a sunday.
We loved it so much we are planning to come again.

Have been using this site for many years now, and after our treatment this year will not be using it again. Staff seemed disinterested when questions were asked. There was no soap in toilets.
It boasts 'tranquil park with no clubhouse' yet we were kept awake til 11.00pm most nights. Kids were hanging about the shower blocks at night, upsetting my young grandchildren. There are children riding bikes all the time, all over the site.
This could be a lovely site again if they just dealt with the problems. It is situated in the perfect place, the ground is level, there is masses of room-as long as it is not a bank holiday, the shower/toilet blocks are spacious and reasonably clean.

We were very lucky to have the most gorgeous weather during our long weekend and although this meant the campsite was very busy, it did not impact on our stay.
We had a non electric pitch and, as there are no marked out pitches, found it very roomy despite the number of people there.
The toilets and showers were cleaned frequently, twice each day I think, and I only noticed a short queue for ladies showers one morning at the 'peak time'.
Our children loved the on site play park, set in deep fine sand, but it does mean your tent also gets full of sand.
It felt very safe on site, it is also very clean and tidy.
A short walk takes you to east wittering shops, pubs, restaurants and the beach.
We absolutely loved it and will be going back

Two friends (one with 17 month old baby) and I spent a very happy weekend here. We wanted a site we could get to by public transport near a beach and shops/pub and this was perfect.
The showers and toilets were plentiful and clean, and the site very well kept generally. We took the baby to the on-site playground and had a fun time there. The beach is easily reached on foot, as is Tesco and co-op.
The area is very relaxed with no amusement arcade type places which fitted our taste as we wanted some peace and quiet away from London.
The beach is lovely at low tide and the sea was warm - huge surprise for me. At high tide it is a bit pebbly but we sat on the grass
Had an excellent lunch at 'The Shore' pub then once the tde went out lay on the beach. The cafe opposite The Shore does a good breakfast. I would be happy to go to this site and this area again.
