We have just returned from this site after spending 7 wonderful nights. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 boys age 5 & 8. As previously mentioned this is a brand new site only recently opened. For those of you who like a nice quiet site this is perfect. It is built into the pine forest so if you have children they will definitely entertain themselves playing in the trees, collecting sticks, spotting rabbits and red squirrels or rats as my youngest would call them! There is also a wonderful wooden play are in amongst the trees. The pitches are a mixture of gravel hardstanding and grass. Both are very large, with electric hook up at 16 amps. Tv reception we found to be excellent, although we still used the sky and managed to get a signal. There are enough fresh water and waste water points to go around, although they are the kind that you have to keep pushing the button down, so take something useful to fill up the aquaroll. The service block is very clean. There are also 2 family cubicles with toilet, sink, shower, changing table, and 1 disabled room. A couple of small things are still needed in the changing rooms likes stools in the shower cubicles and a shelf under the hairdryers to put your brushes on etc, but the staff are aware of this and it is only a matter of time before a very good site becomes an exceptional one. There is a washer and dryer, very reasonably priced £3 for the washer and £1 for 25 mins for the tumble dryer. dishwashing facilites are located outside the block with 2 sinks at each side of the block. The owners are very helpful and extremely hard working. Papares are available at reception. There is no shop but come on, Tesco is only next door! The site is about a 3 min drive into Ryde and is very well situated for the ferrys and to get around the island. I would recommened this site to anyone who likes what I would call a proper campsite, with excellent facilities and quiet! We will definitely be back and wish the owners all the success for the future. Like the previous comment, once the shrubs and grass have matured this will be the best site on the island.

As the previous entries said, - this is a brand new site. According to Pat (the owner) they were laying the paths as the first units were arriving at Easter. We have just returned after two wonderful weeks there and despite the terrible weather during the first week I never once saw the toilet/shower block muddy, in fact it was spotless all the time. Showers are free and plentiful (despite it being the first two weeks of the school holidays, I never had to wait once) with two family rooms and a separate disabled room. Sites are huge, (some terraced and some hardstandings) all with electric hook up, and they dont mind how many day tents or gazebos you fit into your patch (as long as you mention it first). There are four washing up sinks, all under cover, and a huge washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Use of an iron is free. The site is dog friendly and there are lots of bridle paths close at hand for walkies. Rabbits abound and the red squirrels are there but just a bit too far away for doggy noses to sniff at. The owners are lovely too. We had a problem with the exhaust on our car during our holiday and Pat and her son Simon couldnt have been more helpful - letting us part in front of their vehicles rather than drive through the site to our camper and let us leave the car there for the whole of the next day until a replacement could be fitted. Because of this I know that there is a bus stop just outside the camp with frequent buses. The site does not have a shop but Tesco is about 2 minutes away by car. Also (as the weather on the Isle of Wight is usually warm) you will need a fridge or electric coolbox as, at present, there is not a freezer pack service. All in all though a perfect site for a quiet break away. We are already booked for next year.

This is the best site on the Island that I have stayed at. The showers and toilets are well designed and constructed and a pleasure to use unlike some I have been in. Excellent washing up faculties and first class washer and excellent tumble drier for once that dry cloths. This is a new woodland site and when a little more mature in a couple of years will be excellent. Wildlife play on the site and it is quiet and and ideal for that quiet rural retreat. The Family running it I cant speak highly enough of they are delightful and very accommodating and welcoming. On site I stayed on on the Island it was clear that the !*@!$* users were a nuisance and spoilt the look of his lovely site. Do stay here you wont be disappointed. To say this has only just opened it is or soon will be 5 Star. A credit to a pleasant hard working family

Have just returned from four nights spent on this wonderful caravan site. It is, quite obviously, a new site which shows as there is on going work in increasing site size. All pitches are spacious and each have electrical hookup. There are plenty of waste and drinking water taps around the site but only one chemical waste disposal point. This was unfortunately not working at the time of our visit but the owners very kindly emptied ours for us. The toilet and shower facilities were exceptional and kept very clean each day, plenty for the size of site. At this time could not see any children's play area or shop although it is worth noting that Tesco is only half a mile away. The site is set in woodlands where rabbits and red squirrels roam free but you have to be very quick to catch a photo of the squirrels. There is plenty to do on IOW as is advertised in the free paper available on the ferry. A good place to eat is The Wishing Well Pub in Pondwell where the portions are large and well cooked and the prices reasonable. All in all this camp site, although new, is a well run and very clean site with very friendly owners who are only too happy to help when asked. I would fully recommend a visit but feel it necessary to advise families with young children that there is a lack of entertainment for them. This may be in the future plans for the site as it's early days yet. We shall definitely return.

This is a brand new touring park which has been carved out of a disused and neglected forest area. The owners have spent the last 2 years getting the site ready and it is a credit to them already, even if all the grass has not grown yet, and there is still a lot of work to be done to finish the site off. All the amenities are brand new, with ample showers, private wash areas, and toilets. There are dishwashing sinks, launderette with washers and driers, all in one centrally located block. The pitch sizes are very generous with electric hook up to each, and all are level, with a lot of small terracing to get them level, even the grass pitches! plenty of drinking water points around the site, and good lighting at low level along the roads and footpaths. It is also a dog friendly site, with good dog walk just off site, but with a woodland walk planned, soon on site too, but plenty of good walking quite close by anyway.
Without a doubt, given a couple of years for the planting to mature and the finishing of the work in progress, this will be the best site on the Island by far.
