Done the inclusive offer with Red Funnel for 5 nights and ferry crossings inclusive. What a bargain. The site was the best we have ever been to in over 60 years of camping. The deal saved us over £100 if we had booked ferry and site separately. The grounds where emasculate. The pitch, near the entrance, was so spacious that it felt as if we had the site almost to ourselves as the trees and hedges screened off most of the site from view. Toilets and washing up and laundry rooms where spotless and everything worked. Our two dogs where in heaven in the woodland walk. We saw plenty of birds; trees; and plants but alas no Red Squirrels.

Dropped into this site while 'touring' the Isle of Wight and were very pleased we did. The facilities must be the best on the Island, if not the mainland too! This is a forest site but the trees are not intrusive and allow plenty of light and sun onto each good size pitch.
We were also impressed with the freedom to position our 'unit' to take full advantage of the sun within the boundaries of our pitch - not something you're allowed to do on on our usual sites. One slight downside is that it's not easy to walk to shops from the site as the road has no footpaths and can get busy at 'rush hour'. However, the ease of access to regular buses at the end of the lane make up for this as there is a major Tesco within a mile that the bus goes straight to. Nearly forgot to mention the excellent and numerous dish washing facilities and the rotary washing lines, which are a nice touch. This, and the friendly and helpful family that run the site makes it certain that we will return.

What a lovely site. Just off the road and yet so quiet. All you could hear was birdsong. We loved it.
We had a very friendly welcome and were shown to our pitch which was very nicely situated not far from the immaculate toilet block. It was a hard-standing with fully serviced pitch. Perfect.
There is plenty of wildlife to spot - we even saw a red squirrel - much to our excitement.
It's well placed for shopping, with a large Tesco's just down the road. Also well placed for exploring the island. We will definitely be back. Awards richly deserved!

Our second foray into camping took us 'overseas' to Whitefield Forest Touring Park and lovely it was too.
We booked 5 nights using the deals with Red Funnel Ferries and having 2 pre-schoolers, the ferry only added to the trip, their excitement removing some of mummy & daddy's reticence as the weather forecast was less than great!
Our arrival we were greeted by a lovely reception area with among other things books to borrow /swap(handy that as totally forgot any for me!) not to mention, a very friendly lady, walked across to our very central pitch, pointing out the facilities block en route. Free wifi in the reception was handy for some emergency rainy day cbeebies downloads too.
We quickly established that we were the only young family on site (mainly retired motorhome owners) but this didn't matter as everyone was so friendly, taking time to chat to the crazy family sitting outside eating when the weather was chilly to say the least - breakfast was great as we were right by blackberry filled hedges and novices aged 2 & 3 enjoyed adding fresh blackberries to their porridge every morning! Must mention their excitement going on the marked forest walk round the site red squirrel and Grufallo hunting via the lovely natural wood playground too.
The facilities block was fabulous - the family shower rooms (they had a disabled one too with grab rails and a ramp from the path too) were brilliant, immaculate and just the right size to not get everything wet while showering kids! The main showers and loos were spotless and warm too.
The only downside was having to drive everywhere but it's the IoW so not as if it's in the middle of nowhere - we found a family fun pub in nearby Brading (Bugle) while not usually our thing very handy on a rainy afternoon as they had an indoor play area and the 'big' facilities of Ryde, Sandown etc all within 20 mins drive, we took advantage of the Red Funnel offers for Dinosaur Isle and the Steam Railway too.

We used the Red Funnel ferry offer of ferry and camping for £135 for 5 nights which was good value. The campsite is easy to find don't follow the sat nav I heard a few horror stories of poor roads from fellow campers towing caravans. The campsite is in a wonderful secluded setting we were greeted by very friendly staff and shown to our large pitch, the toilet block is 1st class cant fault it as is the washing up facilities and the showers were fantastic. The site is very quiet and peaceful if you want to party into the early hours then this isn't the site for you if however you want a relaxing holiday this site is perfect it is ideally situated to tour the island. The only fault I could say and I hate to criticize as we had a great time here was the road noise we didn't notice it at first but on the second and following nights there was motorbikes blasting up and down the road near the site well into the early hours as we were in a tent and on pitch 90 right opposite the road there was no escape if we were in a caravan it might not have been so bad I cannot fault the site for this and I would stop here again just ask to be on a pitch further away oh and the trees make a relaxing rustling noise which does help you to nod off ! In short a well run well maintained nice site In a very nice woodland area cant praise it enough.

We absolutely loved this campsite, one of the best we have ever stayed at.
The facilities are spotless and the site is very well maintained and kept. It was the height of the school hols but we never had to wait for a shower and the water was always nice and hot.
The layout is nice as there are lots of hedges and trees to break the pitches up. We stayed on pitch 26 which was on the opposite side of the campsite to the road. It was the scooter festival while we were there and although we could hear them we were not disturbed by any other road noise.
We liked the location, not far out of Ryde and there is a Tesco Extra just up the road). The road opposite the campsite provided a good alternative and direct route across to Newport and the west of the island without having to go around the coast road.
The shop has a few essentials and lots of info on what to do on the island, we found the wi-fi to be very reliable and often popped down to use it (there are benches and tables where you can sit outside and log-on).
All in all a great campsite and if we were to return to the IOW for another camping holiday we would most certainly stay here again.

What an excellent site. The best we have stayed on! A friendly welcome at reception, we were given a paper with all the things to due in the area which was handy.
Lovely large pitches. We were on a tiered section surrounded by trees which was lovely. Doesn't feel like a large site.
The woods are very big have an excellent walk through them, there is a bird/squirrel hide where we were lucky enough to see several red squirrels.
The toilet block and showers were spotless, and the water was lovely and hot. Only downside was the push buttons in the showers which were a bit of a pain.
There is a bit of road noise, but that cannot be helped, it didn't bother us.
Highly recommended.

Just returned from a fortnight on this site.
On arrival we checked in at reception where we received a very friendly welcome. The site facilities were explained to us before we were shown to our allocated pitch.
Our pitch was spacious (as all appeared to be) and level. Perhaps due to a spell of dry weather or maybe the nature of the ground, we needed to use rock pegs. We would have struggled to pitch if we'd just had the plastic pegs that Outwell supply with their tents.
The modern shower block and washing up facilities were spotless and there was never a queue, except perhaps for one of the two family bathrooms.
The site is well lit but we still used torches when making the trip to the loo at night.
As others have stated, this site is close to a busy road and there is some road noise. The extent to which this is a problem would depend on how close to the road your pitch was. Some pitches are quite close to the road, those above and behind reception are further away.
The site is well located for the attractions on the east side of the island. The beaches of Sandown are only ten minutes away by car. We found the beach at Yaverland to be excellent, although there isn't much room at high tide.
Bembridge is a lovely village with very good beaches for rock pooling. There are nice beachside cafes in Bembridge and St Helens.
There are no pubs close to site but that didn't really bother us. If you are looking to eat out then the Old Village Inn and Crab & Lobster in Bembridge were both exceptionally good and very friendly. Avoid the Bugle Inn in Brading, this place markets itself as a 'family friendly' pub and has play areas inside and out. It is consequently heavily used by families. We have two young boys and so are quite tolerant but we found it to be overrun with children. This would be OK if the food and drink was good but it wasn't, it was appalling.
Overall, this is an excellent forest site and if you like forest sites, then it would be a first class choice. This was our first visit to such a site and, on balance, I think we prefer the open spaces of a field type site.

What a fantastic site! We have just spent, along with another family of five, a week at this beautiful site in our caravans. We arrived via Red Funnel - all arranged by the Site. Word of warning - do not use the postcode on your satnav! Head to Ryde and the campsite is off the main road about five minutes on from the big tescos. The Campsite pitches are a mix of grass and hard standing, which we hadnt realised and didn't have adequate pegs, although the owner was more than happy to lend us some until we left. The pitches are amongst trees with well kept grounds. Despite the trees the TV Digital reception was fantastic. There is a lovely woodland walk around the site, where you can see red squirrels, although we were lucky enough to have one visit us at the caravan one morning! There is a large wooded play area with climbing frames and a tyre swing and seesaw. The toilet/shower facilities are the best we have ever seen, constantly checked and cleaned, with constant hot water - not matter what time of day! There are individual cubicles for washing and plenty of toilets. There is a large family shower room and a disabled one the same. There are plenty of large sinks for washing up in, again with constant hot water. The reception area is stocked with plenty of leaflets and local information, along with a small stock of essentials as well as icecreams and sweets (nice for the children). The owners are lovely, couldn't do more to help. We were able to move the caravan to an area left empty should your ferry not leave till the afternoon. Spent a lovely day at Ryde Beach (nice sand), Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House (a must!) and had a nice meal in Yates (Newport) as well as a lovely 'cafe' lunch along the front in Sandown. Amazon World is well worth a visit, tropical birds flying free under cover, as well as sloths hidden in the branches!

We have just returned from a great camping trip to this site.
Positive points
- Probably has the cleanest, most modern toilet block we have ever come across. In the ladies there were plenty of showers (at least 6) and toilets, along with wash basin cubicles. There were also two good sized family bathrooms and a disables bathroom. I never had a to queue for a shower and there was plenty of hot water.
- Great undercover washing up facilities
- A lovely woodland trail round the site for children
- A great woodland play area with tyre swings and log dens
- Very helpful staff
- Only a few mins drive from a large Tesco and Costa
- Although there are 80 pitches here they are well arranged so that it does not feel like a large site. Our pitch was a great size and did not feel 'overlooked' by other campers.
- With in 10 mins of several great beaches.
- Good mixture of tents and Vans. We had a grass pitch with an electrical hook up.
Less Positive side
- It is just off the main road, which does seem to be used by a lot of 'boy racers' of an evening and the traffic noise could be quite loud. We were in the middle of the site, and I can believe the other reviewers that it could get quite wearing if you are next to the main road.
I would recommend the site, because the facilities are so great. Would we stay there again? Possibly, as it is at one end of the island, would try somewhere more central so that everything is with in 30mins drive. If I could pick this site up and move it to the middle of the island, then it would be a definite yes.
