Back for our fourth visit to this site and as always it was great. The toilet block is without doubt the best maintained I've seen and it is always spotless and fresh feeling. The site staff are friendly and helpful. Pitches are spacious, private feeling and well maintained.
It was much busier than previous years this time around, word must be getting out about this great site.
The only criticisms are ones the owners can do little about - the road noise from boy racers and middle aged men on motorbikes has definitely got worse, and can go on late into the night. Equally some groups this year were happy to let their kids roam free meaning a lot of noise from the play area well into the evenings (although it did get quiet once it was dark).
Overall though still a great site and would happily come back again.

This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight and we are pleased we chose this site.
It is in a good location with easy access to the rest of the island and very convenient for a large tesco supermarket just minutes away for cheap petrol and a great choice of food and drink.
The site is very attractive being surrounded by the forest and has plenty of grass areas that are sheltered from the wind but still get plenty of sun.
There is a dog walk path that circles the site which was convenient for us, being dog owners, sadly we did, not see any of the wildlife that is mentioned on the information boards within the forest. It has a modern toilet block which is always clean but never seems to close.
The pitches are scattered around the site rather than in regimented lines which helps create the nice feel of the site and the majority are generous in size and not to close together.
Only 2 minor negatives I can think of, was the push button shower operation ( timed it at 4 seconds ! ) per ration of water and the occasional road noise ( speeding motorbikes at night ), probably worse at the entrance part of the site, closest to the road.
The site was pretty full when we arrived and seems very popular, with return visitors. Having said that it was, nt noisy and we slept well over our 8 night stay.
We found the ferry price to the island good value compared to other ferry journeys we, ve done and booked it through the site.
The island has lots of good beaches, lots of cafe, s and a good selection of pubs, it was busier than we expected, considering it was out of school holiday time, with quite a congested road network, so not for someone looking for solitude and piece and quiet.

We booked this site as part of a bargain break on the Red Funnels Ferry website. It was a really lovely place to stay. As many others have said, the toilets and showers were absolutely spotless. I presume they are cleaned by fairies as I visited at all times of the day (and night!) and never once saw anyone cleaning them, however, they were always pristine. The site itself is really lovely, surrounded by woods and with a lovely adventure style play area for children. We were camping fairly close to the road but were not disturbed by the road noise at all. We found the very enthusiastic dawn chorus more of a disturbance! This was very much a family site and it was nice to see that they had a couple of larger, family bathrooms as well as a washing machine and dryer. There were plenty of washing up stations too. The only negative thing I noticed was that they had a lovely disabled wet room however this would be inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair as there was not a tarmac path all the way from the door to the camping areas. We sometimes take my daughter with us, who is a wheelchair user and she could not have used the facilities. Perhaps this needs a little more thought.

We have holidayed on the Isle of Wight many times in the past, so now that we camp we were eager to return to the island and try out a campsite for our spring holiday.
There aren't a huge amount of campsites that we found that were suitable for the size of our tent, etc, but we're so glad we found Whitefield Forest!
By far the best campsite we've ever stayed on - perfect location for getting to our favourite places on the island, brilliant customer service, nicely spaced large pitches (with electric hook-up) that fit our tent + car + trailer with room to spare, immaculate toilets and showers, wildlife and nature all around. Need I say more!
There aren't many children's facilities (park, playground) that we saw, but this campsite is ideally suited to couples or older families wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday, which suits us down to the ground!
We'll definitely be returning - the Isle of Wight is our favourite holiday destination, and now Whitefield Forest is our favourite campsite on the island.
Top tip: book through Red Funnel and you'll save a bundle on the ferry crossing.

Visited this site for a week over Easter half term. We were allocated a fully serviced pitch, a first for us, however we had to pay extra to use the tap on the pitch! It's a very pleasant site, with immaculate facilities and helpful staff. There is a play area and a nice woodland walk where you can view Red Squirrels within the site.
We felt it was a great location within IoW and never to far or difficult from anywhere else on the Island.
Great site, good location, fantastic facilities not that child friendly. We would definitely return but not with the children, so it may be some years off!

What a lovely site, we stayed here for 9 nights and didn't want to leave.
The pitches are large, flat and laid out so that you have your own bit of space.
The shower/toilet block looked and felt like it was only built this year and was always immaculate.
Will definitely be going back to this site on my next visit to the island.

This is our second time on this campsite. Facilities are excellent. Shower block spotless any time of day. Owners work very hard to keep standards up. Pitches are flat and spacious. Lovely walks around forest area. Ideal base for the whole Island. Our complaint was the noise caused by barking dogs on the site which can't help the wildlife around. Our first visit was very peaceful but this time we were kept awake to at least 1am one night with people talking and as the night went on got louder and louder. Also we were close to the washing up area and people were washing up at 12 midnight and also that's where children seemed to congregate even when it was dark - screaming and shouting and running around - where were their parents ? You are close to the main road too. Perhaps we chose the wrong week.

Our third visit to this site, and it is still one of the best sites we've been to. The pitches are large, with plenty of choice between sunny / shady etc. Owners are always very helpful and amenable to requests. Site is very well maintained, grass on pitches is mown practically the instant someone leaves and the playground equipment is good. A special mention must go to the shower block, its a few years now since they were built but they still look brand new. They are thoroughly cleaned every day, and are left spotless. Even the kids are happy to go for showers.

Just returned from this site and what a great site.
Close to as down shackling Newport all in easy reach. We used the bus to get around iow £14 per adult for 7 days and it was well worth it I must say every 15 mins a bus. The site itself was very clean good size pitchers the owners was very helpful all the time.
Would use this site again no problem at all

Returned to this site again this year, have stayed here on many occasions over the last 5 years and it has not changed except for the expansion of pitch availability, great staff & friendly owners, this is no doubt one of the best sites we have stayed at, facilities are second to none clean warm and plenty of hot water, will keep on visiting.
