An absolutely fantastic campsite, all pitches immaculately kept, nicely spaced apart, toilets and shower block probably the cleanest and most modern I have ever used.
The Isle of Wight has lots to offer if you have a family or in our case just a dog, this campsite is ideally situated and nothing is more than a 45 minute drive away or if you are don’t fancy driving hop on a bus, the bus stop is on the main road just a 50 yard walk from the campsite.

We have just returned from a 2week stay at this excellent site. Pat and all the staff were so friendly and very helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them. Pat was very helpful and understanding after my mishap with mislaid caravan keys on the way to get the ferry from Southampton, she managed to rebook our ferry and thankfully we found our keys and continued on our journey to the site. We had a really good pitch/fully serviced, toilet block could not be faulted, well maintained, spotlessly clean, laundry room was always clean, could probably do with another washer/dryer as there was sometimes a few bags waiting to be done. It was such a relaxing site, not too much road noise, lovely walks around the site, loved watching the Red Squirrels playing around the site. Will definitely be returning here. There is a Tesco store 10 minutes down the road which is open 24hrs, bus stop just outside the site entrance. There are so many attractions to see on the island, beaches were dog friendly, plenty of places to eat that are also dog friendly.
Thank you from The Harrison Family

Our first time caravanning on the Isle of Wight and found this site to be excellent. Quiet, secluded pitches and the cleanest shower/toilet block on the planet. Some road noise but not intrusive apart from occasionally some lads who think that removing their moped exhaust silencer makes them Barry Sheene! Owners/staff pleasant and helpful. We booked the site/ferry deal which was excellent value. Dog friendly and close to Tesco Extra make this a perfect base for exploring the charming Isle of Wight. We'll be back!

We stayed here in early July for 2 weeks with some friends, and we really got lucky with the weather! Only 1 day of rain!
This site is very well maintained, and is owned/run by a very experienced owner along with her family.
The pitches are large and are a mix of grass and hard standing, some are shaded at different times of the day, so if you like to be in the sun or shade check with the owners, our pitch was in the shade most of the afternoon. If you're on a full service pitch you are given a 'key' to turn the tap on. This is a great idea. Just remember to return it at the end of your stay.
There is Wifi available (free) outside reception, there are loungers and tables to sit on while using this. We found this very convenient, much better than sites where you have to purchase vouchers, and then find out it doesn't work properly anyway!
The showers/toilets are absolutely immaculate and modern, and are kept in tip top condition. There is a room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing board, you can hire an iron from reception and get tokens to use the washer and dryer from reception as well. I do think though at busy times just the one washer and dryer won't be enough. These were always busy when we were there and we were outside the kids holidays. Outside there is a rotary clothes line to use, which is very handy if you don't have your own (don't forget your pegs)
In the reception there is lots of information for days out etc, and the staff can always offer suggestions and recommendations.
10 Minutes down the road is a very large Tesco store with petrol garage (I think the store is 24 hours, not sure though) there is also a McDonalds more or less next door to Tesco.
There is a doggy walk around the site - this is a nice woodland trail. Whilst on the subject of dogs, we felt that a few more 'doggy bins' could be added around the site.
There are a few things to note, on the lower pitch numbers there is road noise (Friday and Saturday nights were pretty loud with the boy racers) and I have to say it did bother us.
There are signs around the site advising of a STRICT 5MPH, however trying to get people to adhere to this was difficult, why do people seem incapable of sticking to this???? It means 5MPH, not ten or fifteen, they even put a large blackboard out as well trying to get the message through, as the signs were obviously not meant for some people!. The owner did have a word with some people about keeping their speed down. Keeping to the speed limit also kept the dust down on the camps roads as it was so dry, over 5mph really kicked the dust up, great if you're trying to relax outside your unit.
It was very quiet on the site, and I get the impression that the owner would enforce quiet times after 10. 30PM
Just one other thing, getting out onto the main road with a caravan etc, is a bit 'dodgy' as it's a main road with blind bends.
A good site, well run and very clean.

We have just got home after a week at this site and we had a fantastic time. The BEST shower blocks and facilities you will find anywhere, woodland walks, wildlife, children's play area in the woods, easy to get to anywhere on the island, and a Tesco just up the road that has everything you need. The helpful and really friendly owners are constantly cleaning the facilities, and clearing the rubbish bins so the site is immaculate. All level pitches which are terraced, good EHU, water taps etc all close by wherever you are on the park. Only one small irritation which others have mentioned, is the timer on the showers which go off really quickly. Not a major issue though and we will definitely go back as it's one of the best sites we have been to.

Just returned from this site on the red funnel ferry and site deal. This is the third time we have been to this site. It does not get any better than this site. The toilets and showers are the best you will find ANYWHERE. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. The site is 10 mins drive to the Ryde dog friendly sandy beach and after 6pm free parking. Close to Sandown and ventnor. We will be going back here, give it a try you will not be sorry.

We had a really relaxing 4 night break at Whitefield Forest and will definitely be back!
The travel directions they provided took us straight to the campsite, and we were thankful for their good advice about not using sat nav. The man on reception was very pleasant and showed us to our pitch on arrival. We arrived after a very wet spell so our grass pitch was, unsurprisingly, a bit waterlogged - think we will book a hard standing next time. The pitches are spacious and set within trees/bushes so it feels quite private.
The site is in a lovely spot within the forest and we saw red squirrels, woodpeckers and other wildlife. There is very little traffic noise. The toilets and showers were some of the best we've come across - spacious, very clean and modern (and, much to my relief, I didn't see any spiders!). The showers are press button which is good for reducing water wastage, and the cubicles are large with plenty of hanging space for clothes etc. There are plenty of water points around the site, several chemical waste areas and recycling bins near Reception.
Reception stocks some basic supplies and there is a large Tesco only half a mile away (towards Ryde) for shopping and petrol. If you don't mind a 25 min drive, the Taverners in Godshill serves delicious food, although it gets busy so is worth booking.
In summary, this is probably the best site we have stayed at and we can't wait to return!

This was our first time on the isle of wight. This is a good site, in a good location, there was some road noise, but not intrusive. It has a lovely forest walk, ideal for a dog walk, with plenty of wildlife, We watched the red squirrels scamper across the park and in the trees. The facilities were clean and warm. Showers hot, on a ten second push button which was slightly annoying as you had to keep pressing it, but you could stay as long as you like. Owners/staff very helpful and pleasant, gave advice and a handout of the best walks from the site which was really useful.
About 3 miles from a dog friendly beach, nice safe walk over fields, so the dogs could be off lead for most of the time.
Spent a day on the buses, stop just outside the camp every 15 mins. A good way to explore the island with a rover ticket. The open top needles bus is fantastic on a warm day.
A large tesco less than a mile away and the reception carried the essentials.
Would happily return.

This is the fourth time that we have returned to this site - although we have had a 3 year gap since the last time. This site is still immaculate with the facilities looking spotless.
We stayed alongside members of our family with similar aged children 6-14 and had a great time. We even placed a deposit on some pitches for next year and the owners were very responsive to the requirements :).
As the children kept saying, nowhere is very far on the Isle of Wight, and we enjoyed the 2 weeks - leaving more to do next time. The weather was mixed but we won't melt with a bit of rain will we?
The showers, as mentioned by someone on here, do appear to run for a fairly short time in the push button world, but I would rather have the amble supply of hot water, any time of day, and push a button - rather than a shower that has been left running and drained the supply for all.
The locals do like their exhausts to be 'loud' but it gave a us a game. There goes the rider on his way home from work (loud motorbike most nights at 10:30pm). The Scoobys are out tonight. Nothing woke, or kept awake, our kids the sea air saw to that.
If you want noise. Try watching an RAF Typhoon display at the end of Cowes week.
Red Funnel, through the site, were significantly cheaper than any other deal we could find at any time of day. And the site deal was at the times we requested.
